This is such a perfect example of how a piece some how dictates it’s own shape. The piece presents itself with all these possibilities. The master craftsman applies his skill, but listens and observes. As the two communicate, the master finds the final shape among the offerings. Wow! This felt like a “master class” today.
gotta love that vanishing resin for the design change you were not expecting, happens to me all the time, it still turned out Awesome as usual !!! thumbs up
It always amazes me to see the dramatic transformation of the piece of wood you start with, to the finished product you end up with that becomes such a unique masterpiece. WOW! I always wondered if things ever went wrong for you where you didn't quite end up with what you initially planned, but I guess you still managed to make something valuable out of it anyway. WOW! Words just don't do your work justice. Thanks for sharing.
@@AndyPhillipWoodturning Yes, I read the description, which added to how impressed I was, because you still ended up with a beautiful piece, even if it wasn't as initially planned. :-)
At first I thought the excess amount of wood was intended, so when I saw the blue resin hardened and shining, I really wanted to see a tiny ship there. A diorama basicly.
Every time I see you start to whittle resin I think how amazing it would be to have that stuff for haunted houses and similar events, amazing job as always
I’ve said it before...I don’t see how u do it? It’s a marvel to watch you create such beautiful art! Kudos to you and all your hard work...that’s al out of resin! Lol 😆!!
First off... boy did that ever absorb a lot of resin! And second... wow! That is so cool looking! When you turn it the right way, it looks like a skyscraper. 💜
I don’t even have the vision to imagine something this beautiful coming from basically a scrap piece of stump! Absolutely amazing work! Love your work, admire your craft 💪🏽
I could never get tired of watching you create these beautiful pieces, Andy! Another stunner. and I agree with Mystera, the blue resin never disappoints. Thank you, Andy!
your mistakes: beautiful, inspired, made into so much more than the sum of your parts my mistakes: cause for new and interesting scars, sometimes end relationships, sometimes these things mix
All things considered, this is a wonderful piece and example of how a possible negative can be turned into a positive, as well as a learning experience. Well done Andy!
Honestly you made me want to learn how to do stuff like this. I honestly do stupid and random stuff that results with me hurting myself every time I go to work.
Another beautiful piece of art! I may just have to purchase a beautiful piece from you! My favorite one is the earth! I mean I have so many favorites it’s hard to choose. Take care my artistic friend. And be safe and stay healthy!
You know what really messed with my head? When in the first seconds he drew his tool over to the far right, where you could see the background shining through the empty space in the wood and his tool still behaved as though a solid surface was there.
I truly enjoy your craft, skill and vision! Thank you for the beautiful production! As your piece was progressing, I envisaged a goblet... Of course you would have had to start with a longer piece.
well hell, maybe if I read your description before i open my mouth i might have some of my questions answered. Also i might be able to learn the difference between chestnut and maple. Although to be fair, living in Pennsylvania, its been a long time since anyone has seen native chestnut.
The original piece of horse chestnut was really beautiful. It's too bad that the wood soaked up so much of the resin. I was disappointed when you cut off the top, I thought it would make an interesting live edge. I hope you can use it in another project. The end piece is museum quality. Not bad for a learning experience! Please keep bringing us your art, the world needs more beautiful things.
That was pretty cool. I was shocked when the piece came out of curing with the upper section no longer enclosed in the resin. Then I noticed that the wood had darkened quite a bit. I'm sure you were sad that you lost that beautiful color the wood had prior to adding the resin. You did manage to make the lemonade in the end. Great job!! Cheers,
I've been watching Andy's videos for a very long time, e.g., when he actually responded to these comments. Now, with nearly 1mm subs there's no time to show appreciation for his subs. Truly an amazing "artist"
I always respond with a heart to show I do appreciate the comments and subscribers..just don't have enough time anymore to respond back with a comment to everyone.. Thanks for being a long time viewer I do appreciate it ..👍
Looks like that wood/resin really made Andy ....... (wait for it) ....... (Wait)...... Urn his money today!! (I'm here all week!) Was thinking you were going to keep the extra bit on the top... next frame.. nope its gone :) Beautiful as always.
That's the bottom! I thought it was the top. LOL I was wondering why Andy was putting his logo on that side. I figured he made a lid out of it. lol It still is a cool project. Blue colored resin is always beautiful.
Still a beautiful piece. Love the contrast of the dark wood and the blue iridescence.
My wife got it for me for Father's Day. It's on my desk now. Thanks Andy.
That's great ...your welcome 👍
Andy's "mistakes" are beautiful works of art. My mistakes are on their way to the city dump.
My city dump is no longer accepting my mistakes. They are that bad. 😉😉
These videos are my therapy.
Mine too.
Do I hear an Amen to that!

I agree! a very beautiful combination of resin and wood!
Should be clearer
@White Marlin Blue is pretty ugly not gonna lie
Your videos help me a lot with my anxiety problems. Thank you for your marvelous art jobs.

If I'm honest, this is not my favorite piece of yours... and yet I still want it! Beautiful as always! Such a joy to watch a craftsman work!
Absolutely beautiful, that's my favorite one you've done so far. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creations with the world, truly a gift.
Beautiful as always! Thank you for inspired me to start this excellent hobby! Best wishes from Hungary!🇭🇺

Absolutely amazing work! Love your work, admire your craft 💪🏽
I agree! a very beautiful combination of resin and wood! I also love my craft!
It’s amazing what beauty lays beneath a thin layer of waste. Blue must be one of your favourite colours. Looks great Andy😀

absolutely beautiful and with the blue its just popping out with the wood excellent job.
The wood is gorgeous, and the end result is beautiful.
All things considered, this is a wonderful piece and example of how a possible negative can be turned into a positive, as well as a learning experience. Well done Andy!
Such beautiful rich colours and a fabulous finish. Amazing as always, thank you for sharing
Oh boy Andy this is an awesome and stunningly beautiful hollow form.
It might not have been what you had originally envisioned, but it turned out to be stunning.
Looks really beautiful Andy, definitely a piece the good lady wife will be keeping in her glass cabinet, only for looking at. Xxx
When it gets all shiny has to be my favorite part because it really shows the beauty of the resin and the wood
Love the oiling. All the beauty of the wood pops.
Honestly you made me want to learn how to do stuff like this. I honestly do stupid and random stuff that results with me hurting myself every time I go to work.
I LOVE THIS! Looks like Museum quality! At 9:53... That's the money shot right there! Beautiful Andy!
The piece can be smaller but your talent is the greatest!!
Beautiful colors love your videos. I look forward to these every week .
Andy I like videos how to make thing out of wood I wish I was 💯% like you also you does always have all your tools I like about that 👍🤩
The wood designs are fantastic, mixed with the resin, it's just incredible, well done 👏👏👏
Another beautiful piece, the blue and chestnut really compliment each other
É incrível, como você transforma pedaços de madeira em arte.
Your art is overcome every time you touch a new object to transform it.
With success 👌👌👍👍👏👏👏😎🇲🇦🇪🇸
Не устаю восхищаться работой мастера. Респект!
This is so satisfying to watch
You make such beautiful things Andy!
I really love the blue on this piece Andy. Beautiful! 💕😊
Hello Mr. Phillips. Great work for this successful marriage between resin and wood. I appreciate the precision of the gestures.
Very nice again Andy, drilling for a recess can certainly at times simplify the process. I need to try more often. Thanks again and stay safe!
The blue acrylic is pretty against the dark wood. Very fine piece of work.
Thanks
Wow, another amazing piece Andy, and not just because I'm partial to blue. Really nice
Another beautiful piece of art! I may just have to purchase a beautiful piece from you! My favorite one is the earth! I mean I have so many favorites it’s hard to choose. Take care my artistic friend. And be safe and stay healthy!
Got an outer space vibe from this one. I'd like to see a moon sat on the hole to compliment the earth's core piece. One good turn.
You know what really messed with my head? When in the first seconds he drew his tool over to the far right, where you could see the background shining through the empty space in the wood and his tool still behaved as though a solid surface was there.
OMG yes! That was creepy! Mad skills, man, just mad skills!
cutting air is a real challenge!
Amazing piece of art. Love the blue color 👍🏻
I truly enjoy your craft, skill and vision! Thank you for the beautiful production! As your piece was progressing, I envisaged a goblet... Of course you would have had to start with a longer piece.
Nice job Andy as always you do fantastic work
Love the blue. It might be smaller than you wanted it to be but its still beautiful.
Wow I cant believe how much resin it soaked up! So what if it is smaller than intended its still awesome!!
Very nice! Looks delicate. And indeed: the blue is a perfect match to the colour of the wood. And smal things can be very beautiful; diamonds are ; )
This vase looks like it was made of stone. Amazing effect.

It's still beautiful. I'd be proud to display that.

Thanks...you're not the only one that misses the info in the video description
Your skill amazes me. Love watching it take shape. Tfs.
Absolute stunning piece as usual!
Nice form, Andy, and beautiful wood. The resin is a really nice accent, too. Stay well. Bill
well said!
I'd pay good money to take lessons with someone this talented... You need to start a "wood turning retreat"
A little beauty, Andy 💙 I love it.
Saluti dall'Italia, vedo sempre i tuoi video, sei veramente bravo
So good. I haven’t been for a while, I forgot how amazing it is to watch you work. You have great skill and thank you for sharing it. Well done 💗

As always, a beautiful piece of wood work. Could you please make something using wood and yellow and green colours??? 💖💖💖
Absolutely beautiful 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

said beautifully!
Nice things come in small packages! ❤️
Nice work Andy. It's to bad you couldn't keep some of the very top wood. It looks great. Thanks
Unbelievable beautiful, amazing skills and perfect material choice. What more is there to say? Thank you for sharing.

Yeah I mentioned in the description that the burl sucked in more resin than I expected...Cheers
AWESOME PIECE!!!! WOW.... SUPER!!!
