TV has a much larger audience than RUclips. You have to remember most people in the general public don't go on RUclips and watch movie trailers. If I asked my office at work "Have you guys seen the Superman Teaser Trailer?" I guarantee 90% of them would say no.

James Gunn’s Superman or Superman legacy whatever the studio is calling it these days is going to be one of those movies that’s great the first time you watch it then you realise how flawed it is after watching it multiple times. There’s something off about it, something doesn’t click. The teaser makes it look like a justice league movie. The effects/visuals do not even compare to man of steel and the original Superman film had better cinematography and that film is 47 years old! Nicholas Hoult as Luthor will be the highlight. Sadly superman isn’t the most interesting character in his own film. Too many scenes look reminiscent of Superman returns and MOS. Plus too many characters. Supergirl, Metamorpho, hawkgirl, guy gardener etc. If there’s a sequel are they gonna add ten more characters?! Gunn could make a great Superman film but the only issue is Warner bros who are in charge. Judging by their recent track record this upcoming film will fail because Warner bros are incompetent. You don’t have to be an expert to see that they are desperate to make this a hit. Finally it’s embarrassing for Gunn to defend the movie on Twitter. You know it’s all over when a director literally has to justify his creative choices. Synder, Nolan, the Russo’s, Ryan Coogler, hell even Taiki Waiti would never be seen defending their films. We as fans don't matter when it comes to Superman's box office success. It's the general audience that matters. It's why the DCEU failed. They became uninterested.
That's why I'm fairly optimistic - the general audience might be quite interested in going to see the new Superman, but we'll have to wait to see projections nearer the time. First teaser did very well though.
One slip and I feel the general audience will lose interest, and I don't think a 20 second image issue will do that. That's why they need to hit this one just right. My fingers are crossed that that do. It's time for Superman to become big on the big screen again. He's the most iconic and recognized Superhero there is. In fact, Superman is the face of all superheroes.

I’m going to make a prediction!! Since DC is getting some good leadership (James Gunn) it’s going better than it ever has before! You will start getting so many subscribers! I’m going to say an estimate of another 50k-100k by the time Supergirl comes out. And a ton more by the time Superman hits theaters.

You know that black suit with the U on it everybody thinks his Ultraman or bizarro or evil Superman if it’s the engineer or Metamorpho and they are a product from Luther Corp. because we really haven’t seen them in the trailer or it could be from that commenting that was in the Skywall Superman was putting on his boots. Because Metamorpho did get his powers from a meteorite that hit the Earth.
If the superman movie is so good..then spending $8 million on an ad is NOTHING. Isn't it supposed to get $800 million to $1 Billion dollars? 8 mil is hardly anything to drop to get people excited if you are confident about the movie. just watch... the embargo will lift the day before the movie. haha

It’s clearly a panic move, here in America, the Super Bowl is the most watched event pretty much all year and the main reason is for the commercials and what companies do with them
Every “average family” or kid 5-18 will be glued to all of it, those are the audiences they need to reach - not the niche comic fans like us
Let’s call a spade a spade, this movie has been getting tonsss kf backlash from the jump and they’re frankly just embarrassed to potentially completely kill any and all buzz by showing it to such a large of number of people that can judge for themselves without being swayed one or another previously by fan channels etc
This is 100% a tuck and hide move and anyone saying that the “puppy bowl” showing is even in the same galaxy as the Super Bowl - therefore that’s a reasonable argument to not show it, is completely out of their minds and in total denial
Do a poll on the street of any American city and ask who watches the Super Bowl vs the puppy bowl, it would be 99.9% in favor of the Super Bowl

We as fans don't matter when it comes to Superman's box office success. It's the general audience that matters. It's why the DCEU failed. They became uninterested.
That's why I'm fairly optimistic - the general audience might be quite interested in going to see the new Superman, but we'll have to wait to see projections nearer the time. First teaser did very well though.
One slip and I feel the general audience will lose interest, and I don't think a 20 second image issue will do that. That's why they need to hit this one just right. My fingers are crossed that that do. It's time for Superman to become big on the big screen again. He's the most iconic and recognized Superhero there is. In fact, Superman is the face of all superheroes.
