So ive had the tx leather edition for about a year now and in Asseto Corsa with the oculus rift it can translate to real life driving experiences. I learned how to drift on AC which thought me how to counter steer and have a better idea on when the back end of your car is beginning to kick out. I live in Minnesota so we get a lot of snow and ive been able to save 3 accidents because of knowing how the car feels when its about to kick out and how to properly counter steer. Had I not got a wheel with force feedback I would have definitely either over corrected or under corrected and both would have resulted in an accident. Anyways thats my experience with the tx leather edition hope this helps anyone intrested in getting one of these.
Actually had the same experience when I was younger. Driving round a corner too fast the back end started to slide, I controlled it instinctively and took the corner fine. 50m down the road it dawned on me what had happened and that save had stopped me driving off a cliff. I had to pull over to calm my nerves and think about how I just avoided death.

Dude this is so epic! I’ve known about these but never actually seen anyone review them. I could probably never afford a legit set up, but it’s still really cool. As always, best content on RUclips :)
Started with the 458 spider on xbox some years back. Upgraded to the tmx, also got the t3pa pro pedals and the Hshifter during its use. Now my Tx is on its way and I'm really excited.
Man let me tell you one thing. I fucking love your videos, I stopped for by for this video and ended up watching others! Lmao thank ls for you honest review and it helped me out deciding what wheel I wanted to buy so yeah thanks and keep up the good work cheers!
Great review! One you get decent driving with a wheel you never want to go back. Its like having a 144hz gsync over a 60hz monitor, you instantly regret going back
Really glad to see this review man. Not because I want a wheel, but because there are too few reviews out there of your quality on this stuff. I spent many years racing on PC starting out with Nascar 2003, Need for Speed, then finally spending a bunch of years on iRacing.com. I went from cheap sub-$100 wheels to finally graduating to a dedicated computer, Obutto racing cockpit and Fanatec wheels and pedals permanently mounted to my Obutto cockpit. What an awesome time you can have with sim racing. The Fanatec stuff is really a step up in my opinion and even after years of use I was able to sell my wheels, wheel base and pedals online to others in the iRacing community for a decent amount because those things are built to last and despite what some have said in the past, I found the Fanatec customer service to be very good. Same for the Obutto - was able to sell that on Craigs List to a local because shipping that car seat would have been a real hassle. I don't race anymore, but I really enjoyed doing it for many years. If you plan to get more into it, you can't go wrong with Fanatec gear in my opinion, and I would say Thrustmaster is second in line. Not sure if Thrustmaster has a Formula 1 style wheel, but if it does you may want to try attaching it to the base and playing the Formula 1 games. It feels amzaing to use an actual Formula 1 style rim in a Formula 1 game. :-) The rectangular shape and all the buttons are really cool. The alcantara finish on the Fanatec wheels are also great to the touch. I would always wear leather driving gloves when I raced so as not to sweat-up the finish on the wheels. It was a good decision in retrospect because when I went to sell the wheels later, the buyers appreciated the relatively unworn look of the wheel rims.
Wow, all great tips. I've been looking heavy at iRacing and Project Cars 2. Good tip on the gloves - I often thought guys just wore those just to increase the immersion 😂 If I could ask - why did you decide to get out of sim racing?
@@badseedtech Thanks! I got out of it mostly because of lack of time and wanting a change. I'd been racing for years and didn't have time to stay competitive and play the other games I wanted to play. I found that during the last year of owning my cockpit and gear, that I wasn't even racing once per week anymore so I figured I would bow out while my gear was still worth something. I mostly play Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefield V now. I kept a file tracking my iRacing spending - you don't want to know the final number, but I can also see that I spent 8 years active on iRacing alone. That doesn't include other racing games/sims before then. It was just time for a change. :-)
Thrustmaster TX Leather Edition wheel is decent. I like the force feedback, silent working and acurate when driving. Good steering wheel leather build quality. But i change and add bigger aftermarket wheel.
I've been using a thrustmaster tx wheel for years now my top recommendation when learning is to start with stock all wheel drive cars until you get the hang of it.
The sim setup I use for drifting on Asseto Corsa is a Thrustmaster TX servo base with a custom suede wheel as well as the Thrustmaster sequential shifter, pro pedals and a hand break off ebay! I had a Thrustmaster TX leather that broke after 400 hours of very hard use full scale force feedback drifting. I had a Logitech g920 wheel and it just doesn't compare to the force feedback feel that the Thrustmaster TX has. With that being said the Logitech G920 and G29 are the perfect first force feedback wheels for the price. I highly recommend the TX base if you have the money. I personally have realized the difference of how smooth and responsive the TX is compared to Logitech wheels and that's why I ended up buying another TX servo base for $250 after my first one broke! eventually I would like to get a direct drive wheel like the AccuForce Pro V2 (maybe one day). Also, you should try out Asseto Corsa as well as some car and track Mods for it! nothing compares to Asseto Corsa. It's a whole new experience that Forza games could never compare to!
It's cool to see you cover content like this.. I use a Thrustmaster T300 RS for Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, F1 2018... completely different to Forza Horizon ( which i still use a xbox controller for. PLEASE cover a video of you testing a more 'realistic' driving game.. i found it completely different to Forza to the extent that i won't use my wheel for forza, would be great to hear your views comparing arcade to sim.. keep up the vids!
Yeah, can confirm its WAAYYY different. I really like Dirt Rally but I want something with more of a street feel - I'm not big on F1. I'll have to do some shopping but the full cockpit video will focus much more on Sim racing.
Playing something like Project CARS 2 with a wheel and pedal and a VR-headset is just so much fun. Currently I have the Logitech Driving Focre GT which kinda sucks, but I'm looking to get something like a Thrustmaster TX in the future and something like a Playseat. I'm guessing that that will just blow my mind.
Hi, is there a way to check if the ffd is working correctly. I have a Thrustmaster TX leather editoin and I have feeling that the FFB is generally not strong enough(the wheel is brand new) and it is getting weaker during gaming(the base does not heat up at all). For example, I play f1 2020/22 and "on track effect" is set to 100 but it is almost absent, it feels very, very, very weak. А few months ago I played the same games on this steering wheel and the feeling was completely different.
You should really try out the g920 or g29 as they come at a cheaper price point and there are tons of mods to customize the wheel rim the way you want it to be eg. An f1 wheel or even a different wheel that you prefer
I just got the TX Leather Edition but I cant use it in anything other than Forza which I almost never play. I bought it to play mainly simulators such as American or Euro Truck SImulator but it wont connect to the game... I have no idea why I have the driver installed, the PC recognizes it. So does the game but the game won't let it work. Starting to get agrivated
@ 4:00 in real life left foot braking is kinda hard cuz most drivers r use to a clutch with the left foot.... just try left foot braking next time you drive at a track im sure in the mall parking lot when ur doing 15 its easy but to actualy left foot brake smoothly while driving fast is not easy
Just got a logitech G920 with the shifter for £175 on Amazon (BNIB). I like it but I cant use the shifter on my desk so i'll be needing to spend another £120 on a GT Omega steering wheel stand, while the wheel fits on my desk, is does come off sometimes. I use this for Forza Horizon 4 and it works straight out the box on PC, it has feedback just like the TX Leather Edition. It uses the same materials just like the $500 wheel showed in this video. The only bad thing i have to say about the G920 is the clamps. They're so cheap and might end up making you buy a new desk or the GT Omega stand. So I can only recommend this to if you own a thin desk
Good to see you branch out! Just FYI. The need to flip your pedals is probably due to you having pressed the yellow button on the base. This flips your pedals for people who mount them inverted on their sim rig :) pressing it again should resolve it. There is a light on the lefthandside of the base to indicate this btw but it would be helpfull imo if it gave you a pop up like when you have shiftlock enabled on a pc. Love your content and honesty! Keep the videos coming. Would love to see more sim content! If you want to see some interesting sim content check out Marcel Pfister's mixed reality content.
Thrust Master 😂😂... Great detail as always sir and I agree the transition from control to wheel is strange. I can get must better scores/fast laps on forza with a controller but the feeling with a gear stick, pedals and a wheel is undoubtedly more of a pleasure.

Got a fanatec set up. They have good black Friday deals. Assetto corsa is a an AMAZING sim. It's cheap and there are TONS of mods. And FYI, if you're driving a car with no clutch (GT cars or super cars) left foot braking is actually correct. Even if you're driving a clutch car, if you dont need to change gears for the corner you wanna left foot brake. It's more efficient like you mentioned. Good review but I kinda wished you emphasized more that cheaper wheel did not have force feedback.
@@badseedtech yes no problem. The rabbit hole of sim racing is VERY deep. I think another thing worth noting (if you read this reply) is that while the eco system is nice, its not necessary if you're on PC (unless its logitech). I use the thrust master shifter with my fanatec wheel base and pedals. It just plugs in separately. ALSO, I HIGHLY suggest that you look into load cell brake pedals. Load cells measure the pressure you apply rather than how far down you push the pedal. It can make for more consistent braking. Fanatec has a set with a load cell for $200. Pedals are arguably more important than wheel base once you have something like TX based higher. But of course this is all assuming you're really interested in sim race and want to dive deeper into that hole. Either way, happy racing :)
iv got a logectic wheel and shifter that i got prtty new of facebook market place for $300 aus. The guy said he uesed it i coupple times and iv ha no probs with. going of this review think the thrustmaster is alot beter and easyer to ues to a new person! Im backwards. I just bought the thrustmaster tx leather edition, the shift stick add on and a wheel stand for a nice sum of 600+ £'s and then i come and watch this video. Oh well... i did do some review watching and it was a toss up between what i bought and the logitech 920. I get the delivery of my set up by the end of the week. Hope its worth it.. 🤯
BadSeed Tech the physics are pretty good, but the graphics are okay, but it’s the best online competitive sim. Even real F1 pros and nascar pros use it. But I wouldn’t step up to it until you’re ready to spend some serious time on it. It’s a paid subscription and you have to get licenses in order to compete in real races. It’s not a game to casually, think of it like going to a private college. If you take it casually, it affects your gpa and you pay 😬
@@badseedtech well.. I went GMMK just the board, 67g Purple Zealios V2 Keyswitch, and some cheap keycaps a co-worker found . I'm toying wit the idea of custom WASD keycaps from wasdkeyboards.com. Soldering seams spooky, so went Hot Swappable.
You forgot a wheel one that I would say to egt over anh other thrustmaster the thrustmaster ts xw for the xbox one its outstanding much quieter has stronger ffb ams is just a better wheel but great video man really good
I never even tried to drive in a real car... but I just tried some Dirt Rally 2.0 and I like its intensity... And I find it tough to resist purchasing one of these XD To be clear, I don't even know what a clutch does. I even kept calling the clutch the choke XD but I know now that there is a difference. But it sounds fun to me to learn to drive a little bit like in a real car by using a wheel like thatl.
2 years of G29 so far and I can tell you that I would kill for that “loud” volume of the TX ahahahah. The gears clack like crazy on gear driven wheels and the belt driven wheels are just super nice and premium compared to what the G series wheels give you with their click-clacks.
The thing is, just owning a car would cost the same as my setup every single month at my age. That's excluding tuning, gas, maintenance, or even the price of the car itself
Started PC sim racing in 2012, an still learning new stuff. Down the rabbit hole for sure, next stage wheel FFB an screen FOV settings then try some full on race sims. Try Assetto Corsa, Raceroom, Rfactor 2, an look up RaceDepartment.com the go to site for all sim racers.
I Love sim racing, I am in the process of moving from Console to PC.......but WOW, say good bye to all your money very Quickly, with all of the Peripherals!
$90 to $500 real quick lol that's a yuuuge leap in price, anyone interested in a mid range steering wheel w/pedals (that have a clutch) Logitech G29 is going for $206 on Amazon. I've had it over a month, it is amazing!!!

Good review but I kinda wished you emphasized more that cheaper wheel did not have force feedback.
Good to know! Thanks man! I feel like Im standing at the bottom of a mountain...so much to learn.
Then the logetech. the logetech is a little hard for me to use but the thing id that im a BEAST on controller like u!, btw i play on xbox!
that tan line. I can relate. 🤣🤣
Tan line?
Im backwards. I just bought the thrustmaster tx leather edition, the shift stick add on and a wheel stand for a nice sum of 600+ £'s and then i come and watch this video. Oh well... i did do some review watching and it was a toss up between what i bought and the logitech 920. I get the delivery of my set up by the end of the week. Hope its worth it.. 🤯
ive never been soo scared in my life
that voice
its soo god damn manly
Project cars 2 and assetto corsa are the two to get. Once you get comfortable with those, then iracing
Definitely downloading Project Cars 2 right now. Iracing is even MORE realistic physics then?
BadSeed Tech the physics are pretty good, but the graphics are okay, but it’s the best online competitive sim. Even real F1 pros and nascar pros use it. But I wouldn’t step up to it until you’re ready to spend some serious time on it. It’s a paid subscription and you have to get licenses in order to compete in real races. It’s not a game to casually, think of it like going to a private college. If you take it casually, it affects your gpa and you pay 😬
First time I used a setup like this was on my Sega Dreamcast lol i miss it now
Dreamcast was my favorite console. There will always be a special place in my heart for that system.
Yo Boss, are you in the KC area? Building my first KB when the parts get in, thank for getting me into another expensive hobby, dude.
Yes sir! Born and raised. What kb you going with?
@@badseedtech well.. I went GMMK just the board, 67g Purple Zealios V2 Keyswitch, and some cheap keycaps a co-worker found . I'm toying wit the idea of custom WASD keycaps from wasdkeyboards.com. Soldering seams spooky, so went Hot Swappable.
WASD makes really good stuff even though they are ABS plastic. I've had a custom WASH tkl for years.
You forgot a wheel one that I would say to egt over anh other thrustmaster the thrustmaster ts xw for the xbox one its outstanding much quieter has stronger ffb ams is just a better wheel but great video man really good
It costs double.. and the extra performance is not worth that money
@@Nagim-d3z I can undertand that and actually the tx and t300 are less notchy there just not as strong or detailed
hooking the wheel up to a PC and setting Spring and Damper = 0% is very very important
project cars 2 and assetto corsa the ones you want!
I never even tried to drive in a real car... but I just tried some Dirt Rally 2.0 and I like its intensity... And I find it tough to resist purchasing one of these XD
To be clear, I don't even know what a clutch does.
Never looked into this but seems really fun! Dope video as always man!
Do an mm710 review PLS
You should do a spotify podcast where you read books or something. Would totally listen!
OMG
My cousin let me use his and I almost want to get into racing games just because of how good it feels
Its super addictive. I'm not really into the F1 stuff or Nascar but the Rally stuff has been really fun.
BadSeed Tech yeah we ended up playing Gran Turismo, and his setup was tuned so well it felt close to driving a real car. I’m jealous lol
First time watching and ur funny
Hi dude, your voice makes me think to : let's get ready to rumbleeeee!!!!! 😝😉
Like the shoes brotha
Thanks bro! I never get to showcase the collection in the vids 😅
You do Tech, but what do you use to keep that beard fire? Got one myself, and have no clue what to use to keep it groomed! 😭
3:13 It was at this moment, he knew... he f*cked up...
How was it literally the FIRST time I've ever seen an actual train in this game??
Now this is cool. The price tag for a full sim setup can be justified because it’s cheaper than tuning a real car right. Right!?! 😅
I don't know man...after I add a full sim cockpit, motion tracking, and a VR setup - it MAY actually be the cost of - at least - like a 99 Civic Si. 😂
@@badseedtech and i for one look forward to it haha
The thing is, just owning a car would cost the same as my setup every single month at my age. That's excluding tuning, gas, maintenance, or even the price of the car itself
Started PC sim racing in 2012, an still learning new stuff. Down the rabbit hole for sure, next stage wheel FFB an screen FOV settings then try some full on race sims. Try Assetto Corsa, Raceroom, Rfactor 2, an look up RaceDepartment.com the go to site for all sim racers.
Guess I definitely have to look into Raceroom - had a few recommendations for that one.
I think I'll buy the g27 instead.
I Love sim racing, I am in the process of moving from Console to PC.......but WOW, say good bye to all your money very Quickly, with all of the Peripherals!
Ohhhh yeah - stuff starts adding up very quickly.
BadSeed Tech that it does mate. First try and find the funds for a substantial rig. Will be keeping eyes peeled for the sim rig build 👊🏻
I see you Brian! Making moves! Im not even into racing wheels but when I see your videos I click.
Ayyyy 🤙🤙
$90 to $500 real quick lol that's a yuuuge leap in price, anyone interested in a mid range steering wheel w/pedals (that have a clutch) Logitech G29 is going for $206 on Amazon. I've had it over a month, it is amazing!!!
Bad seed I see them dt990 👀👀👀 waiting for review I guess
DT1990 - and yep - the reviews for both will be out soon actually.
Youre beard looks epic
B-Tech True Gordie here...
