Perfume for a tea party! You make me smile every time you post. Thank you so much. I’m in love with your tea set. Please be careful with it! You are so smart to keep those letters. I’m an author, and you have no idea how important letters about mundane daily life can be to historians, writers, and other researchers.
Robert, the finds you have been finding and all the LITTLE things, that have such a personal family connection always amazes me. Great that you are also finding coins everywhere🙂 The Old Byrd Farm just keep on giving! You are being rewared and blessed for buying the property and taking care of her and restoring her and make the land come back to life and work again. You, your family and this channel is such a blessing. Great Job, Robert!
I LOVE the Native American Artifacts you found! How awesome is that? If people don't like you taking your time going thru the stuff in the house, they can just scroll on by. The blue bottle is "Evening in Paris". A very inexpensive "perfume" from the 50's & 60's. My Granny gave me a small bottle every Christmas. IT smelled awful. I would always pour it out and as a young preteen/teen, didn't know those bottles would be collectors now. I only have 2 very small ones. THAT "toy" Tea Set IS MONEY!!! How awesome. They are so fragile and its amazing that you have so many pieces in great shape. KEEP THAT for sure.
@@diwi1942Have the tiniest bottle of 'Evening in Paris' here in the uk. It's still holding up , scent wise. Reminds me of one of my grandmother's. I love it :)
WISTERIA WARRIOR love your shirt. I cleaned my grandparents house that looked just like THE OBF and you have to have alot of commitment to not just through it out in a green bag. I got the job done which was rewarding in itself, but i also found alot of treasures, war paraphernalia from my grandfathers time in the army. I found he was a stretcher barer in england. He came home with his uniform, badges, army hat, the whole bit. Encluding the will he made when he signed up to go to war. So many treasures including my mothers year old sister who passed from a heart defect grave plot. So yes Robert, its very important to take the treasure hunting slowly. Have fun
You are doing an amazing job, Robert!!! Keep it up and before you know you will have it all cleaned up!!! Much love & hugs from South Carolina ❤️ xx May God always bless you, keep you healthy and safe ❤️🙏❤️
I have a suggestion Robert. If you can use some of your extra metal or wood to make a stand for your big trash bag, it will save you lots of frustration and time. Just a large heavy wire circle a few feet above a large circle with small uprights to connect them would work great. Btw… the seventies are still fairly recent times! I was in high school then and I’m still just a baby lol❤️🤗🐝
Robert,.... that mason jar must be there somewhere! I remember when I went with my grandfather 60 years ago to purchase a tiller for his FarmAll H tractor. I discovered that day I was a relative of Jesse James as well my grandfather. I still remember where the stash was located as we drove into Neverland and walked up to a tree stump. He told me to turn and count the cows in the field as I could hear him shoving his hunting knife blade into the dirt. He said to me ok let's go buy that tiller. When we arrived to the seller he opened his hand with 5 beautiful gold double-eagles handing them off in a trade. I too then was told I was a descendant to Pres. Andrew Jackson. It was a memorable day! You are making memories Robert for all of as our spirits are too with you as you strive to preserve our history! My hat's off to you bowing. - jfm - Portland, OR
What treasures, I love old letters. Nice indigenous artifacts. It's so much work, but looks like some times you have a lot of fun at it. Little by little and you will get there.
Oh my goodness, i cant believe you actually put that old perfume on your skin. Lol, yeah it was so strong we could smell you way up here in Missouri. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 cool finds. Keep up the good work.
You are a man after my own heart. It makes me happy beyond words to see you going through what many would just shovel into bags without a glance and be rewarded with things I too would class as treasures. I've taught this same value of old things to my daughter too so I know at least one old Canadian family will carry on collecting 'treasures' for at least another generation & hopefully longer. 😊😊😊
Hey Robert I think doing a great job with the OLD BYRD FARM I have been watching your videos a long time I think its WONDERFUL that you and your family are watching over your Uncle Ken more families should that keep up the good work
Robert, Those old maps are really cool, I would keep them and put them in Frames to put on the walls of the old Byrd Farm to look at. I enjoy looking at old maps to see what towns were there. A very Historical perspective of Georgia.
When you put on that perfume all I thought was that you could walk out after the rain and mosquitos anywhere near you would either vaporize or leave the farm! 😂
Those are really neat things you found. Especially the arrow heads. I have the same little tea set . It was my Moms as a child so probably from the 30's. Hope that helps date it . Keep Safe❤Keep Well ❤
While you probably already know this, I’m going to offer a piece of advice in case you’re not aware. When the time comes to reuse any of the wood flooring, trim, etc that has old finishing nails in it, don’t hammer them from the back and pull them out from the front. That will split and damage the wood. Instead, use vice grips to pull the nail through the wood from the back. You’ll be left with only a small hole that will be easy to fill with wood putty. Keep up the great work!
Oh dang, that looks like the cookbook I gave my oldest daughter, I sure wish I still had it. It was my go too when I was stumped as to what to make for my crew to eat. Great memories
What cool finds! The mini tea pot set from Japan, did the made in Japan include the word "occupied"? Porcelain must have been one of the earliest products Japan made after the war. My dad was one of the first to occupy Japan after the surrender. The post-WWII road map shows that returning veterans were anxious to take road trips. What a piece of history you have!
Watching you chip away at this hoard is slowly revealing that beautiful old house! Lots of detail emerges and shows us what a special place it is! Keep up the good work!
Robert I'm 72 and my dad was born and raised in,Mississipi.when I was 4 my sister and I each received tea sets just like the ones you found the stopper does go on the blue bottle my mom had one just like it. Probably 1930ish as she was born in 1920.
Sinclair oil company up into the 70’s . perfume have volatile solvents that is what carries the scent. some of the scents could be broken down due to time. it could be down to the original scented oil. up here we have bins for the trash, we can only fill them, I do not think that they will take extra bags. 2 bins one recycling, the other for house hold trash. you could have a nice bonfire and do some marshmallows and weenies! natural fibers can burn w/o toxic fumes. acrylic, polyester, nylon all have nasty materials liberated when burnt. great video, thank you for your time! neat treasures! plus you never know what you will find! take care Robert.
Your Uncle Walter and Brian, and Uncle Ken, also have connection to this house as well, so they are seeing all that you have been finding that connects them, and all the memories you are finding for them as well..
Very stylish pants ya got there feller. You can wear them while working all day on the farm and hose 'em off and go out to dinner at the finest restaurant in the evening..
Another day you’ve conquered. Slowly but surely it’s getting done. Have to agree with ya on needing to look at what your throwing away. If you had shoveled all that in a bag look at all the cool stuff you would missed. So cool finding the arrow heads n that tea set n the small utensils had to be keepers. As for that cobalt blue bottle. I bet that was a old Evening of Pairs perfume bottle. That was a popular perfume from late 40tys up to 50ty/60tys. Also there was another one called Blue Waltz. You could of bought them at a 5 n 10 cent store. The glass stopper was the top of a perfume bottle. Who knows you just might find it yet. Robert, I think your doing an amazing job cleaning up. Don’t pay any attention to those negative comments. Your Mama raised a fine young man. A lot of respect to the past. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟🐶
Does your Mom still help with going through some of the things from the Old Byrd Farm? Does she help with doing research on some of it? Or is that your guilty pleasure? Thanks for taking us along
Those little dishes are Lusterware child's dishes . Whatever you do don't lose the lid for the tea pot it will devalue the set. I would be in junk heaven..😊🇨🇦
Sone news outlet needs to get ahold of you and do a story. I know it’s going to happen, it’s only a matter of time. You’ll have 1M subs then. Till then, keep on going, one bag at a time. I so admire your patience.
Poor Robert! Please be careful with old toiletries! Old perfume can denature into a stronger alcohol than was originally used and yes it will burn! You're lucky it smelled as good as it did as that can change too, lol! Just dab a little on in the future ok? Your nose will thank you for it! I believe I recognized a few things you pulled out of that drawer. The dark blue perfume bottle is a perfume that's still made today. It's called Evening in Paris and the stopper was probably original to it. I remember that bottle and stopper from my grandmother's dresser top in the 1960s although she kept stuff like that for a looong time so it may date back earlier, like the 1950s. Hers came from South Carolina so it was probably mass-produced but that doesn't mean it didn't cost a bit back then! They didn't have much plastic then either so little girls had ceramic or cheap china sets to play with. My friend's set was cheap china and is worth a little more these days! Between that and the arrow heads you found some cool treasure indeed! The old maps were cool too!
You could frame the old maps🤔. There might be old large frame somewhere in the house that you could use so it would not look as super new....or make one from old planks and some glass. The led ball might be for fishing...
Robert I was wondering. Redoing your floors and such is this going to make the roof sag to where you have to check the tin to make sure you have no leaks. And are you going to strengthen your floor joists by putting more support from ground to beam. It's a lot of hard work but your getting it done. Proud of you
Robert when I was cleaning out my parents house to sell it I found money in coffee cups,in all kind of things. So I rolled them & put them in the bank.
If you temporary remove all items in one room and then sprayed wood floors, walls, windows and ceiling with bleach. This greatly helps with the musty smell in an old house. Even better yet, hose the room with water to remove dirt before spraying with bleach.
Got my shirt yesterday :) Poor Mr Walter standing there filming ya, smellin ya lol. Love that lil tea set!! The house is coming along, keep up the great work. Hope the heat there is not terrible like it is here in Arkansas...the freaking humidity is a killer here.
Fun dig!! I need to check all of my furniture drawers for Native American artifacts!! Speaking of buying a Wisteria Warrior tshirt - you'll need a replacement for the one you are wearing here. I guarantee that "perfume" gasoline is not washing out! When you wear that again, and in the Georgia heat, you will be reliving the smell!! 🤣🤣 I will be laughing about this one for quite a while. Oh, sprinkle some of that perfume on the trash bags, WaHa trashmen will REALLY love you!! 😅😂👍👍❣️
There are so many treasures to be found. I would buy the cute coin purse!!! I love that you might find some of your grandmother's things. Frame that map...there are poster board frames that are cheap.

You should have invested in the company that makes contractor bags. I worked at a Cities Service @1971. A decade later they were bought out and in 1982 rebranded Citgo. I believe I have that same Warm Springs pamphlet from a revisit in 1967. I was just back for a visit in March. They’ve added a museum.(Drove right through Waverly Hall out of Columbus on the way there). Perfume, little tea sets? May I interest you in a Bud light?
