I understand honeysuckle is an invasive species, but I don't understand why people hate it! I simply love the smell of its flowers in the Spring and early Summer! It is the best-smelling perfume I've ever smell! Now I'm gonna make me some honeysuckle tee this Spring! Thanks for a great idea!
I make a tea that I call Honeysuckle Romance. It has Honeysuckly flowers, Chamomile, rose petals, Lavender and vanilla. It is my favorite tea of all time.
Thank you for showing the parts you are using. I have just dried some flowers and leaves. I plan to make a tea and a tincture I would love to see videos of the different drinks you make Yarrow is one I forage the most. It is so bitter. I only know to use peppermint or raspberry to flavor. Do you have any ideas on this?
Honeysuckle tea. Great stuff! I gotta say, totally awesome to hear you say where are you going to your kid and the answer be "I'm getting some spearmint!" Can't ask for better than that! I just got some spearmint myself. Looking forward till when I can harvest and make tea with it.
Oh you'd love our Spearmint Jelly video then: ruclips.net/video/h0I8qqwUJJE/видео.html Sunshine helps me gather and wash the mint. Then I make an amazing jelly! Spearmint is one of her FAVORITE herbs! :D
Think of all the millions of gallons of tea I could have had. Just finished ripping out 400’ feet of fenceline Honeysuckle. It was so tall and spread out so wide that it was consuming an acre of land. Now I’ve tilled and planted grass to fill up the bare area. Next year the Honeysuckle will start to grow again. It’s impossible to keep it away from that fence. The Honeysuckle was “tree sized” at the bases. So we had to rip the stumps out with a dozer. We saved the larger wood for burning in the fireplace this winter. Neighbors tell me that the wood is so dense that it will rival a good hardwood for BTUs.
Will be trying soon...I just spotted honeysuckle bushes by my pond🤔....that was my favorite flower growing up...never knew it was drinkable😀 Thank you for your knowledge!
Wonderful I have a bunch grown on my property and can’t wait to try it but I do have a question, would washing it before change the taste, like would the nectar wash out?
Wow, I never knew you could use honeysuckle this way. All this time I just thought of honeysuckle as a nuisance. I have honeysuckle in my backyard and will have to try this. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Amanda!!! I’m Amanda ur new subscriber and new friend to ur channel from southeast Kentucky and thank you for sharing this with us. I’ve gotten into hot teas lately and I want to learn to use the beautiful earth around me too.
I've never had honeysuckle tea but honeysuckle is taking over everything here in Oklahoma! I'm pulling up honeysuckle all Summer! It does smell magical though😊 I mowed yesterday and the scent was delightful😊 Before it's done blooming,I'll try the tea.😊
Honey Suckle I'm going to check & see if I can grow that in my area. It looked refreshing. I can grow mint & lavender so hopefully. :-) Thanks for sharing
I know it's an oldie but new subie here..you came up in recommended videos... I watch others who can (the kneady homesteader) and with the does it save money canning debate you popped up...😁
What zones in your area that you honey suckle growing so well? do you mind please share some tips for new grow? I am in zone 6 and wish to know more. Thanks so much.
Honeysuckle grows wild here in 7b all the way to the coast. I’m not sure about your zone. It grows so well here we don’t cultivate it at all. Honeysuckle is often growing wild on fence rows and can be smelt from pretty far off. Sorry I don’t have specific recommendations for you friend!
Most honeysuckle species are high in saponins. According to my research you'd have to ingest LOTS of tea from the leaves specifically to have negative repercussions. Most commonly this just includes mild tummy trouble like nausea. Honey Suckle tea has been used for centuries and IS a safe beverage. I recommend people do their own research though and use discretion. Thanks for bringing up such an important point! :)
In small doses they are actually beneficial. However, I always encourage people to do their own research and go with their gut. Always do what you feel is best for YOUR family. ;)

WOW!! That's crazy... Great example of how invasive it can be when left unchecked. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this great info.
I'm going to have to try that. A friend just gave me a load of seeds knowing it's one of my favorite flowers.
What are some of the medicinal ways you drink it for?

@@HearthandDome thanks so much for your time to reply, no problem.
Thanks again I subscribed to your channel. It's so nice of you my dear.
Could you used pink honeysuckles?
I suppose so but am not completely sure. I encourage you to do your own research as far as safety of specific varieties.
I have a pink one too , how can I find out if its edible please ?
Can any honeysuckle leafs and flower be drank as tea? Could you suggest what kind I should buy? Name or link would be helpful, thanks!!
Sorry friend, I don’t have any purchasing recommendations as it grows wild here. We make it just as shown here. ;)
Miss seeing your videos
Liked and subscribed!
Do you wash the leaves first? My honeysuckles are orange. Same thing?
No idea.. this is just what grows wild here.
Is the Mexican Honey Suckle plant tea
taste about the same as regular honey suckle? Asking bc I know they're not related, only by name.
I honestly have no idea friend... Sorry! :)
@@HearthandDome Thx for the reply.
Do you add any honey in it or is it a little sweet? Thank you going try God Bless
I don't. The nectar from the flowers makes it plenty sweet for us, but it's really a preference thing! :) Thanks for watching!
Be careful with the leaves as they can be toxic at higher amounts. The flowers are fine

Can you dehydrate Honey Suckle so you can have it all year?
I suppose you could but we prefer drinking it fresh in season.
I dehydrate my honeysuckle flowers 😊
Can u ship organic yarrow seeds? Ill pay for them.
Do you mind sell to me your honey suckle plants from propagate please because I love the color.thanks.
We have moved since recording this video. Sorry friend!
I take the whole branch then pick the honeysuckles of
Are you sure the leaves are ok?
To steep. I keep reading they are toxic

I will try ti1
I've never had honey suckle tea. Can you describe the flavor? Is it sweet? I'm gonna have to try this! :)
Mildly sweet and very refreshing! :)
THANKS GREAT VIDEO =)
Beautiful woman Beautiful life
You’re only supposed to pick just the flower only. Your going to destroy honeysuckle. Also it’s best if you dry out the honeysuckle.
