Poor Charybdis though, her auto chain and 1 feel so good together, the 3 while fun either has the issue of getting hit while submerged, or aegis every 20 seconds, the 2 is slow and janky, and the ult needs a glowup. But she is one of my favourite hunters to play now because the auto chain feels so fun to use
Imagine if the ult was able to hug walls and wrap around.
Her passive, demeanor, and 2 to an extent take cues from her dad Poseidon. Her design and ult are to make her similar to Scylla (effectively her adopted sister) her 1 and 3 obviously take mechanics from other characters but they’re fused with her design well enough that they seem different enough. All together it…. Makes a character that’s for sure 😅, trying to fuse two mages into a hunter is rough and they did it…. Did it well? Good question
Her voice lines are great, and 1 feels decent, her 2,3, and ult could use some work though, her ult mainly since it a mage ult on a hunter that barely uses high power, I think Dom is the highest power item typical hunters use?
@@TragikDino if you make the ult go on cooldown the second you release it and before hit, it could then be boosted by fail-not. An odd but helpful buff.
Charybdis is one of the strongest hunters rn because of the her 2. Good god and good design, intersect must suck at hunters to have that opinion
I want to throw out a quick honorable mention for those who played in open beta in 2013/2014. Athena, Aphrodite, Nezha, Tyr, Change', Apollo, Poseidon, Eset, Thantos, Sun wukong, Scylla, OG Nuwa and a lot more. Truly one of the most fun and insane times to have played during, I miss those days.

OG He Bo, he was designed as an old man it was hilarious. When you ulted and became the wave, he would go *oooOooOOoHhh!* I thought that shit was hilarious. And he was OP, too. Still rock my red lion avatar icon labeled ‘Beta Tester’. 😏
Man I just don’t get the Danza hate. Dude is easily one of the most fun hunter due to his ult.
Right? I immediately clicked with him on release, the happy lil feller. I also love his escape mechanic, being more of a game of outwitting the enemy than a get-out-of-jail-free card that so many escapes are.
Agreed! I guess it makes me glad I'm just a casual at this game and don't have to worry about the meta. If liking Danza is bad, I don't want to be good!

You play all out or infinite assault against 5 of him, and it quickly turns into a remake of The Predator… It gets SCARY when those bushes stack up.
Every time people gas up Ix Chel or the next random burst mage with a subtle variation of the same kit, I start to realize why they're all so boring.
I mean in terms of kit design they’re different but all do damage so yes it is boring.

@@MrPsychoticss Infinite cc, knock up, gives team movement speed, the ult mechanic where it lasts longer based on hitting enemies and team, the 1 where you get two charges if you hit the first. Not to mention having to hit enemies with the apex of the ability to maximize damage. I stand by what I said literally no mage anything like chel.
I remember when the Arthurians launched and that was what really hooked me into smite. Smite was pretty niche where you didn't understand the full concept of all the Mythologies out there.
Thinking about it. The arrival of the Arthurians opened the flood gates for more Characters outside of pre-established pantheons. We got amazing gods like Cthulhu, More Arthurian representatives, Yoruba, More Voodoo gods, and not to top it off. JAPANESE KAIJU? I'm actually excited to see what low-rez have in house for new god releases. Because count me in if we get another Great Old One.
The japanese whale is one of the worst guardians released on Smite
@tanksalltheway190 listen. Sure he is boring to play. But the avenue that brings is so much fun to think about. There are other kaiju, don't forget. But as this is hirez they prob won't add another one FROM the amount of hate he is getting right now.
@@Kallastin Hi-Rez should do new Greeks one time per 6 seasons instead of two per 2 seasons. Is what I want and I could love. There's 24 Greeks and there's no Manticore king on Greek mythology ☠️. Norse is the second pantheon with playable gods on Smite, and it's 16. Greeks has 50% more gods than Norse Pantheon. The Greek pantheon actually is only one of the pantheon that take twice releases in a single year

And then i cry painfully when im against a Bake, hard annoying lane, hard lost, stupid match. One of those love/hate things you know.
1:10 If I were to fix Shiva…
⚪️I would make it so that he can chose to enter his Bliss or Destruction states before casting any ability
⚪️I would make it that, as the lord of dance, any time Shiva damages a enemy with an enemy, he can follow up with a complimentary sub-ability (Pillar of Dawn for example would have it’s being Shiva’s current second dash, an AOE pulse that buffs/debuffs allies/enemies, or have his pillar flare up and knock-up anyone too close to him.
⚪️And I would buff his ultimate so that if he gets a kill or assist against an enemy god, his dance automatically refreshes back to full duration, and that each kill/assist in this state shaves off 3 seconds of it’s upcoming cooldown (So a full team wipe would refund 15 seconds of cooldown to his ult). I would also make it so that Shiva Tandava benefits from Samsara… Casting Tandava in Bliss would up yours and your allies (within 25/35 units of yourself) movement speed by 2% and protections by 1% for 10 seconds, refreshing and magnifying upon itself with each step, while casting it in destruction up’s his own power (by 1% per step) and makes his nearby enemies take 1% more damage per step (also refreshing and stacking like in Bliss).
⚪️Having the above would make Shiva a more flexible and involved god overall I hope.
This made me realise I'm playing Smite since season 5, remember seeing Baron as the new God, but back then I didn't really played that much, only on season 6 I started playing a lot, Yemoja was the first God I instantly loved and was probably the God I reached diamond the fastest
Followed by Baba Yaga who is still one of my fav mages
I genuinely forget how long Arthur has been in the game spinning on us
My top three would have to be:
1 - Season 4
2 - Season 2
3 - Season 3
Nostalgia plays some part in this, but overall I think that Smite’s god design was at it’s peak here. Even though new gods were released monthly there certainly were more hits and less misses than with the newer seasons.
the problem is they gave too much cc to other gods so newer ones should get the same amount or even more. Now they make a new god around the cc, not mythology or uniqueness
4:07 it's weird that you didn't mentioned Raijin actually, cuz he's so satisfying to play with his actually moveset, but unbalanced
Season 8 has literally every god I main (Tia, Gil, Morgan, Atlas, Clio), only Charyb is a letdown but overall, one of the best seasons Smite has ever had, best collab, best skins collection, best gameplay balance.
I have such a hard time remembering when I started smite so I was looking forward to this. The most clear release I remember is Fenrir. WHERE WAS WHEN WAS FENRIR INTER!?!?
You know how you did a team for each pantheon and put them against each other? Teams based on seasons would be interesting. The older seasons have more variety but that doesn't necessarily mean better.
The newer seasons tend to be more bloated in terms of their capabilities. I feel like the fun of the video would come from the older seasons and trying to figure out the best combo of 5 to counter the modern day bloat. E.G. Using Xing Tian to beat the basic attackers of season 6, Olorun, Set and Heimdallr.
I was surprised at how some seasons have no gods that I play often and some have most of my mains, like season 2. You say Ah Puch was the weakest that season but I have to disagree, he's my favorite design ever because of the synergy in the kit, there's no other god in the game that has a synergy mechanic like that
I didn't start playing until the end of 2014 (Hou Yi was the first god released after I had started playing... wanting to say that Awilix was the current 'new god' when I started, but she had already been released a bit before that). This did remind me of how terrible release Ravana was, although he ended up in a good place.
I'm not sure what my favorite season release of characters was, but probably season 2 (due, in part, to nostalgia, since it was the first season that I was around for the whole thing).
What's always been crazy to me is that they tried to put 2 abilities on Char that would work on an ability-based hunter while also giving her a unique auto chain that makes her prefer auto-proc items over ability-based items 10/10 times.
The design philosophy was entirely wrong from the start.
Hard to rank seasons because I feel like every one of them have one of my favorite gods lol
I only played smite every now and then and didnt really have any attachment to any season number, but turns out I played mostly in S1-3.
And it really shows that S2 had good releases as a lot of what I remember as my favorites like Xing Tian and Amaterasu are from there (outside of my mage mains from before season 1)
season 3 holds a soft spot in my heart since that was the first year i really got into the game, mainly because i fell in love with susanos playstyle

I started playing at the end of season 5 (about the time release baron was sucking everyone off too hard) and it’s crazy how fun every season 5 god was. I didn’t even know what gods were new and which were old but I was very quickly drawn to pele and Achilles and baron is my most played mage at this point. My least favorite season 5 god is Arthur, who I still like and is easily considered the most fun by so many players. Besides arguably Hera (who I still like) season 5 was pound for pound unbeatable. Close #2 is season 6. I played Horus so much he was the closest I ever got to having a “main”. Merlin, Jorm, Set and Horus were the best consecutive releases I’ve seen since I’ve been playing. I think that whole 2-3 year stretch was smite at its best

Baron continues to be one of my most played gods, he's so fun.
It’s crazy how much this can differ from player to player. My top 3 would be season 8, 5, and 6 in that order.
Season 6 was when I started playing, so my nostalgia made me think that was an incredible year!
My favorite has gotta be season 7 simply because baba yaga is my all time favorite god, I have well over ten stars on her and played the hell out of her even when she was bad and made her work. She’s just never boring to play to me and I can always have fun with her. Truly one of the best and most unique designs.
It's so surreal to see how the game has shifted. I remember when Ah Puch was considered one of the worst gods thanks to no mobility and no guaranteed CC. Just a raw damage character with a bit of sustain.
Now he's a solo lane bully that people are begging to leave lol

for me charon is just an awesome design he s got everything while not being broken has counters in the kit like the silence and maybe the shield that you can give to other teammates

Bake Kujira felt like a rushed release, like they put no effort into him and just put him in just to fit a schedule

While season 9 had uninsteresting kits, It was full of gods everyone wanted in long time, which is kind of a bit sad. Shiva and Ishtar deserved way better and Yu Huang was a let down with such a simple kit, he is my main but boy, if any god could have a complex fun kit its Jade Emperor.

Bruh that season 2 lineup triggered my PTSD... Those god releases actively made me quit the game for like 6-7 months
Broken god after broken god Bellona actively 1v5 people was insane and ah puch could one shot you from full hp as a tank with his 1 2 combo and god help you if he had iso and ulted .. joust was plagued with him
S2 was such a goated season for god releases. The meta was so broken and not balanced but it was fun asf. S2 of Smite is how people felt about mw2. Completely broken, but fun asf.
Politely must disagree on Ix Chel, I think she’s really neat! The way she’s an actually successful mage that can flex mid and support (without being OP) is super neat!
10:53 the unique greats stuffs on S2 is old Rat,Medusa and Ah Puch. Bellona and Amaterasu are my least fav Warriors and the remainder gods releases on this season are +/-
What about season 0?
Kujira is the best god in the game. As a support main he’s the I want to carry god. He’s broken af and I love him for it. Can box anyone bar like osiris
season 4 was alright but it’s when i started playing so it’s so nostalgic
Idk if it's only me but I think season 3 gets a bad rap but imo I thought it was great. It had like 5 of my favorite gods in camazotz, thoth, susanoo, terra and erlang before they reworked him rip.
What I take from this is that the best hunter design is ok
They shouldn’t nerf Maman even more. The most they should do is take down her fuel from 100 to 80 and if she needs more make it 60 and she’ll be balanced.
I started playing at the beginning of season 2. Bellona was a scourge.
Season 5. King Arthur's release is the most goated thing to happen to Smite. Haters will hate, but King Arthur punishes cocky spam laughers with ease.

While the current state of the S5 roster is good, I don't know hot it got so highly ranked. That season was comically awful for balance with new gods. Baron was comically strong, hera was so weak pros talked about running pre-rework loki mid over her, and KA was one of the most broken releases of all time.

Im really not a fan of king arthur. Feels like his kit only does anything when glad shield is good and its a must buy on him. Just boring to have a character need an item to be decent for the character to succeed
I can't pick a favorite but as soon as you showed season 3 i immediately thought yea thats the worst. The only god i care about is cama. Everyone else i either hated or dont care about and on top of that season 3 is my lowest point where they released multiple characters back to back that were broken that drained me and almost made me quit the game.
All this did was made me realize i played since season 3 😢

Thank you season 8 for releasing my favourite character Charybdis into Smite, I know she is unpopular and with a ton of issues that hopefully will get fixed one day!, in season 8 also had other cool gods with her that I enjoy playing!
I completely avoided paying in year 10. MAMAN was too perfect imo. She had everything you needed as a jg which i dont really care about since i play mori jg but since she was so easy to use Maman players ran rampant every game. With the biggest egos, Clio was annoying as well but i let her slide cuz she cool
Season 5 is by far the best for me
Year 10 may be the least interesting game design wise but you gotta admit that its the best looking and visually interesting season
There's only two Smite releases that made me quit the game for a little while - Susano and Baron Samedi. I've been through it all since Season 1's end. There is absolutely nothing that can compare in absurdity with Baron Samedi release. That god will forever be the bane of my existence for the first 3 months after release. No god has ever reached such disgusting levels of a bloated kit.
Worst to Best to me
S10: none of the gods on this Season are on my satisfying top tier list, Surtr and Bake Kujira are on my lower tier.
S6: I don't like Yemoja kit as a Guardian kit, it makes feel like im not playing as a guardian. Also Set is kinda hard to dominate with him, making i be so pacific when i play him, making i take hate from my own team. Horus is in my top satisfying tier list. The remaining gods are on the middle tier or below.
S2: Ah Puch, Medusa and Old Rat are on my top tier. Bellona and Amaterasu are terrible goddess to me, i havent enjoyed played with them any single time. Actual rat is middle Tier, like the remaining gods of this season.
S3: Izanami has no skills, only basic attacks, its makes she a low tier. Nike is low tier but better than Ama and Bellona. Jing Wei low tier. Erlang Shen actually low to middle tier. Raijin is Top tier to me before he took this soft rework on his Ult progression, initial hit on his 2 and cooldown reduction for each auto. His 2 ticks are great and his ult makes me satisfied. Fafnir ult is top tier but if he isnt transformed, low tier. I have fun with Skadi and she is my fav hunter, top tier. Remining gods are on the middle tier.
S4:Artio, one of the worst gods to enjoying, his kit is whatever, Cernnunos is in lower to middle tier. Cerberus (my 4th favorite guardian and its my favorite class), Cu Chullain and Discordia are pretty awesome too, these 3 are on top tier. The gods i havent mentioned are on my middle tier (of fun and satisfying)
S5: King Arthur carry this Season gods easily,Chernobog and Achilles are on low tier (you only can enjoy as Achilles if you execute someone or stand on the TF for hours). Baron is top tier, Pele and Hera are middle tier
S9: Shiva is too satisfying, Lancelot could be Top tier, but isnt enough. This Season has none mistakes, all gods i can enjoy not a lot or not a little, but enough dopamine
S8:Atlas, the best guardian ever, Gilgamesh my favorite Warrior. But this season exists Charybdis and Clio (boring and Low tier to make me satisfied)
S1:weakest dopamine gods of that season are Rama and Ao Kuang but not low tier. The top tier dopamine to me are Cabrakan,Serqet (favorite assassin) and Janus.
S7:Tsukuyomi and Cthulhu dopamine top tier (Cthulhu being my 2nd favorite guardian). Mulan, Danza and Baba are cool but not top tier

I’ll be honest, I was expecting this to be a ranking of the gods as… well, gods. Like their reception, their significance, and their lore. I wasn’t expecting a ranking based on their kit and playstyle.

This year is worse than last year imo, as evidenced by the fact that Maman and Charon were the only gods played in the qualifiers the last few weeks, whereas Ishtar, Maui, and Lance all saw play. I didn't like any of this years gods all that much whereas I very much enjoyed Maui.
That doesn’t mean a season is worst, that just means that those gods were more viable in the meta going to worlds lol
I can easily say that this season had one of the worst line up. EVERY god was over tuned up the wazoo except for ix chel but she can still 0-100 you. Idc if unique shit was added, trash broken fkn line up

Most gods designed by Clumzy are super boring. Nothing personal against him. He needs to put way more effort when he gets assigned to work on a character.
Izanami has a poor skillset too, cuz she basically have autos and nothing more to complain her kit
Izanami is a auto attack godess she is a hunter. The only skill that doesn't support her auto attack nature is her ult which is fine because it hits pretty hard. Her 2 slows so she can hit her autos easier her 1 enhances her autos and her 3 gives her a great escape tool that she would be screwed without. What do you mean?
@@NeocrimsonX her kit is minimum interesting like Bake Kujira. Have some Hunters with a solid auto attack moveset, like Olorun (Freya +/-),Rama is the best example of all,hummmm Xbalanque, not at all, I feels Chronos damage skills is more important than his own stim, Jing Wei I'm feels like a bad idea her kit but her escape is the greatest stuff on her entirely kit allowing you to counter knockups.

I think Surtr and Bake Kujira are the worst set designers on S10. Surtr hasn't a solid combo, same to Bake Kujira. And Bake Kujira moveset was made by the developers ass, like Martichoras ult
