RTI Series Part 9 deals with handling of RTI requests pertaining to Third Party information as per Section 11, which reads as under:
11. (1) Where a Central Public Information Officer or a State Public Information Officer, as the case may be, intends to disclose any information or record, or part thereof on a request made under this Act, which relates to or has been supplied by a third party and has been treated as confidential by that third party, the Central Public Information Officer or State Public Information Officer, as the case may be, shall, within five days from the receipt of the request, give a written notice to such third party of the request and of the fact that the Central Public Information Officer or State Public Information Officer, as the case may be, intends to disclose the information or record, or part thereof, and invite the third party to make a submission in writing or orally, regarding whether the information should be disclosed, and such submission of the third party shall be kept in view while taking a decision about disclosure of information:
Provided that except in the case of trade or commercial secrets protected by law, disclosure may be allowed if the public interest in disclosure outweighs in importance any possible harm or injury to the interests of such third party.
(2) Where a notice is served by the Central Public Information Officer or State Public Information Officer, as the case may be, under sub-section (1) to a third party in respect of any information or record or part thereof, the third party shall, within ten days from the date of receipt of such notice, be given the opportunity to make representation against the proposed disclosure.
3) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 7, the Central Public Information Officer or State Public Information Officer, as the case may be, shall, within forty days after receipt of the request under section 6, if the third party has been given an opportunity to make representation under sub-section (2), make a decision as to whether or not to disclose the information or record or part thereof and give in writing the notice of his decision to the third party.
(4) A notice given under sub-section (3) shall include a statement that the third party to whom the notice is given is entitled to prefer an appeal under section 19 against the decision.

Only citizens of India and NRI can seek information under RTI.
Get works done as per specifications of tender document through use of RTI.
In case you suffer economic loss due to non supply of information or wrong information you may claim compensation.
RTI quickens pace of disposal.
Government servants got their ACRs expedited for consideration of DPC.
Get copies of old record under RTI. In one case over 70 year old land acquisition documents were procured in 12 rupees instead of bribe. This is the power of RTI.
Ask for fixation of accountability.
Ask two questions who is responsible for the act and what action has been taken against him. It works.
In case you find any illegal construction or activities going on do seek relevant information under RTI act.
It will prove to be deterrent.
In case you need urgent information you may mark it as Life or Liberty case and justify it so that PIO can provide it at the earliest.
You may put RTI questions in comments or in under mentioned blog to get a reply.

अगर मुझे पीआईओ से जवाब मिलता है कि निजी फर्म कह रही है कि उपरोक्त प्रश्न तीसरे पक्ष के तहत आता है तो उसके जवाब से कैसे निपटें। आम तौर पर मैंने पाया कि जब भी मैंने शिक्षक विवरण आदि की सूची जानने के लिए आरटीआई डाली तो निजी संस्थान ने इनकार कर दिया उत्तर का उत्तर देने के लिए और केवल तृतीय पक्ष की जानकारी कहने के लिए..कृपया मार्गदर्शन करें कि इस समस्या को कैसे हल किया जाए।

सर किसी अधिकारी के कर्तव्य स्थल पर मुख्यालय निवास का पता किराया अनुबंध RTI से मांगा था जानकारी नहीं दी अपीलीय अधिकारी ने भी थर्ड पार्टी जानकारी बताकर धारा 11 का उल्लंघन किया क्या जानकारी उपलब्ध होगी या नहीं

Yes. If it exists it can be sought provided it is not hit by sec 8, 9 etc.
