Some helpful tips when sewing the TOP to the BAND:
    1. Cut notches all along the edge of the BAND (on the side that will connect to the TOP). This will give you more length when you pull at the fabric to properly align with the edge of the TOP panel (make sure you don't cut notches past the 3/8" seam allowance).
    2. When sewing the BAND to the TOP, have the BAND piece on top. It is more likely to bunch up underneath your presser foot, so have that panel on top so that you can pull at it and ensure that it is lined up to the TOP panel.
Apologies, I should've noted this in the video! Hope that helps

    Ok. Love from Tokyo again!
just finished this hat, and omg I’m in love!
I made some modifications, I did one solid color and I didn’t make it reversible, because I’m using denim and I wanted it to be light for summer: I only did two layers of the brim and one layer of the top and hat sides (?) I attached the brim to the inside hem of the hat sides.. it turned out great!
Also, I figured out how to do the pizza notches, thanks for your comment reply!
I will be making more. It looks verrrry good and well made. Thank you sensei!!

I just did a closet purge and was thinking I couldn't let go of a couple shirts I love and maybe turning them into a hat would be a great way to let go and hold on at the same time. Ugh. anyway. I measured my head and cut the pattern on the right line, the fabric, followed your directions, and it turned out great!! Perfect even. Thanks so much for this super fun bucket hat pattern! Woke up yesterday to a rainy day and went down a RUclips sewing rabbit hole and landed in your bucket hat tutorial. I grabbed some scrap pattern and whipped it up and it is super cute, I can imagine it in velvet, faux fur, terry cloth, sky is the limit. Makes a great gift and I am already thinking of a couple of friends with birthdays coming up! My only suggestion is to cut the hat top on the bias-it helps pinning all the fiddly edges without getting a pucker.

His other suggestion (to sew with the band on top) made this part a lot easier.

I'm an embroiderer and I sew too. I would put some kind of logo to personalized it some. Thanks, you did a good job

I don't understand why you don't have 200K subs, your videos are straight to the point and detailed!

Thank you for this great tutorial! I bought a commercial pattern “bucket hat,” and it wasn’t at all! I made it and it was a large brimmed sun hat! Nice, but not a bucket hat!
Thank you for great tutorial and so explanatory , and good personality too!

Watched this last night, before going to bed. The directions were on point. They were clear, concise, and easy to follow. Don't subscribe to much but your channel was a no brainer!

Thank you so much for this! I have a very undersized head so finding hats that aren’t massive on me is always a challenge. Now I can make my own! Thank you! 🙏🏽💗

OMg I'd pay for personal patterns & tutorials from you instead of randos on fivver. I'm hands on (noob), so need clear instructions like this otherwise. I also now know how to sew perfect lines on the brim! That's what ruined my practice hats in the past. Thanks so much for this!! Inspired me to pick bucket hats back up. I'm definitely going to purchase your pattern. ♡

This is brilliant, want to give it a go with some old run race t-shirts I have. Never stitched before but we have a sewing machine so I think with few mistakes it can be done 👍 Thanks for the pattern
