For all those who have not installed the texture pack, these are probably unripe green tomatoes. Works as well.
They are working on a solution, to make texture packs not client ,but region based.
It is mentioned in one of docs last sessions.
@goiterlanternbase a server I used to play on attempted this years ago and at the time the solution was a bit resource intensive.
I just repeating DocM, from the last, or the episode before last🤗 He sounded like they have high hopes.
That’s a great interpretation of the slime’s default texture.

What's funny about the Mother Tomato plant is that for any other player besides Doc and Jevin, they will be unripe tomatoes instead (Jevin, meanwhile, will see magic Blue Tomatoes, and therefore will get the most special experience of all). 🐍

ARTISTS : For the new mural : it would be so cool to see like a diagram of tomato parts. Maybe a slice showcasing the geometry of the inside or a study of the leaf shape or plant growth patterns. I think that would be a great one to put next to the mother tomato plant itself and be something a bit different than we already have.
PS this is turning out so amazing! I love this project so much and watching the progress of it come together is so fun.

The riptide trident is such a good tool, I almost always have it on my hotbar even in my non flooded bases. It really saves on rockets to just throw down a bucket and use riptide when you’re building something tall.
The tomato plant with the slimes is insane. It will be a little funny when other Hemits fly by and see you have a plant that grows slimes.
well, red tomatoes are green before they're ripe so it should still be fine

Honestly, there's no way you can pick a more epic base between yours and Scar's. They're both absolutely insane, and in completely different and great ways.

I love how tomatos will be ripe only for Doc the tomato lover and not for other hermits...
And at the same time I can imagine a Grian, flying over the perimiter to his base, only to be confused by the sight of a giant plant full of slimes

Doc you should definitely share the johnny vex trick with Scar so he can use it on the evoker he keeps as an attraction in Scar-land
If I had a nickel for every time Docm77, the technical mastermind, got trapped in a 1x1 hole and needed someone to bail him out, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Jokes aside, incidents like this make Doc a bit more relatable, I once accidentally walked backwards straight into a 1x1 hole that led to a lava lake.
Watched Solidarity’s stream of playing decked out. As he was leaving Scar Land on his way to his final run, he flew past your perimeter and was blown away. He stopped to soak it in and made some comments. Based on his reaction, especially just leaving what scar has done, you've put grinded him for sure!
You know this episode is going to be crazy when doc starts hacking 😏

I didn't find Hermitcraft till the tail end of Season 6 but didn't watch till Season 7 so I got to his videos late but I've been loving them ever since
It's a comfy background watch! Bit weird, but I type up records for an archive and Doc's the perfect energy level to watch while I'm doing that.
yh docs great for in the background, but not entertaining enough/ too long videos otherwise

Cool like the witch farm idea. I wonder if we could get witches to throw weakness potions at zombies as a part of villager healing setup. Also healing potions could be used to heal the dogs for automatic skeleton xp farm. This is so exciting.
Reminds me a video that was recently published by 2no2name titled “Splash Potion Farm Using Magic”
Theres a lot of logic behind witches in raids, so this is a lot more feasible than i initially thought

I'd like to fly, but my wings have been so denied...
As a German speaker Rankhilfe rings more than one bell. I had no idea that the raid Captain has control over the raid. The more you learn with DocM. Using live Slime to make Tomatos is also something that only Doc could come up with. Nothing against Decked Out 2 cause the runs are getting more and more insane. Cubfan is one of the Hermits that has managed to make out alive from level 4.
Nothing quite like waking up and gleefully watching Doc struggle to get Witches in minecarts. I'm a sick, twisted soul.
considering slimes are green by default, you could say other hermits will see the tomatoes as unripened fruits instead in the mother plant so smaller slimes could be useful for harmless decorations running- er, jumping around
One thing I really like about perimeter walls is how you get subtle shadowy streaks under the pipes due to the lighting changes. It almost like a bit of water has run off the pipes or leaked out, and slightly wore down the artwork over time. It's a really nice and natural subtle touch.
You know, now that I know what a grind those murals and everything else you do is, I got the courage to do map art in Minecraft. So thank you.
The instant healing spot is so sweet, I love it. Not only do you do technical stuff, and you explain it really well so that even I can follow, you're also such an amazing builder. The mother plant is insanely good!! I absolutely love it!

for taking off in water, just hold space so you're bobbing on the water and then press space at the peak of the bob.
you don't need to time the rocket, if you do that ^ you're just in the water in elytra mode and can rocket whenever :)

The great thing about slimes on the tree is that in the normal texture pack, it's just unripe tomatoes.
I really like that you add decked out run in place of a timelapse it like 2 different things in one, I personally enjoy your runs in decked out i would like to see more if possible, but i also want to see where goat mother's lore goes.

It would be cool if the mural tied in with the new mother tree, like having the goat mother reaching out towards the branches as if by prophecy
Fun fact (which I'm sure Doc already knows but might be news to others here): Elytra hopping can increase your jump height from 1.25 blocks to 1.5 blocks - possibly enough to clear the villager's hitbox! Collision with the villager and minecart may have eliminated that option in this instance, but it is a useful trick to keep in mind for other situations!
58:00 I absolutely loved watching the vex fight each other - you should build an arena on the server where they can battler all time. I think a lot of hermit wouldn't mind watching the vex turn on each other
That poor slime looked so confused ! Like "why am I in a tree TT" XD XD
The texture and shaping of the plant is amazing. I especially like the detail of the roots breaking out of the pot. I very much appreciate the fact that, even if you had never mentioned that you grew tomatoes, I can look at the way the slimes are arranged and tell that you have. The clusters are a little detail that you have to have seen plants to catch, and it makes the whole project come alive.
The Mother Plant looks amazing! And the infinite healing is interesting.

For block quantity I'd say Scar is still ahead, but for challenging builds, you are ahead. Also, those tomatoes look amazing! Well worth the time it took to place them

I feel like you should make segments of the piping switch on and off in zones because the partially-repaired pump can't handle them all yet.
Lore: Also, the green tomatoes (from those who don't have the texture pack) are because only those so blessed can tell when the sacred tomatoes are ripe. Everyone else has to deal with eating the ones that aren't ready yet.
That Johnny Vindicator Raid Captain stuff is really interesting! It has me eyeing my neighbor's Pillager Tower already...
Doc not only inspires by continuously finding new ways of raising the bar, but also with the fact we all have set-backs. After blowing up my redstone, gear, wings, and myself up... this is just the ticket needed to get back up on the horse.
Maybe you can give some of this A.I. Manipulation-Advice to Tango for Decked Out? Being able to force Ravagers into certain spots and causing witches to throw regen-potions at them from underneath might help him reduce manual maintenance while the Dungeon isn't running.

The tomato plant is epic and i love how instead of building tomatoes out of like red concrete, you opted for moving in each slime. Literally insane. Also i got a good laugh seeing the ravagers literally attacking themselves. Great technology will come from this discovery! How amazing

I am a kinda new viewer, I only came here when Grian blew up the tunnel bore and instantly started binged everything there was so far to catch up.
So I don't know what Doc built in past seasons, is what I want to say.
And while the perimeter so far was iconic, with the massive cliffsides. The walls coming to completion makes this base look soooooooooooo AWESOME.

It does sound appealing, yes !
On the other hand, I think that what makes Decked Out so great is the *game design* skills Tango brought along, associated with his solid redstone skills. Redstone & minecraft hacks alone wouldn't be sufficient.
Doc could probably pull off crazy black magic tricks, but I fear that they would require a lot of maintenance haha.
I think with such a big and complicated redstonesystem like DO having more than one persone doing the redstone makes things a lot more complicated. There would have to be a lot and i mean A LOT of coordination and documenting happening, otherwise it just becomes a big redstone mess with unending bugs. I still remember Mumbo and Iskall getting stressed out in one episode, when they build Sahara and that projekt was childs play in comparisson. I think it would be easier, if Tango (if he ever builds a DO3) recruits more Hermits for the building part. Let them build the dungeon (following a set of guidelines) so that he can focus on the redstone. Though personally i would love to see Tango creating a DO server together with the create mod and invite players. The possibilities with create are pretty much endless and in many cases easier to archieve due to wireless redstone and autocrafters for example. @@thomasfplm

Hey Doc, an idea for one of the remaining perimeter wall sections could be to install a huge round vault door (or some other type of huge door). I'm sure you can think of a great way to fit it into the lore. Maybe there's an underground lush cavern of unsurpassed beauty, with a single object of power or value at the center. Perhaps the people constructed a shrine around it inside the cavern, and it's considered both a treasure to protect, and a sacred place of pilgrimage.
That intro reminds me of something that onces happended at work. Once, one of my colleagues was trapped behind a glass door. We have a little stand in front of our doors, which our cards can open the door with. At this door there was a vacuumer right next to the door, and when she went in to the room, the vacuum tipped over such that it was caught between the door and the stand. She was trapped. All the walls in the room was glass, so she could see it, but she was stuck! But then again, it was glass, so i could see her and helped her out!
Insane render distances really make the world look nice. When I go into bedrock, I have it at 96 chunks (current bedrock max), can spot multiple end cities from the center island.
When needing to counter poison carry honey bottles as they both remove poison and nourish you.
Back in college I worked on the farm and we had a high tunnel with hundreds of tomato plants. They grew like weeds and we were donating 200-300 lbs of tomatoes a week to the local food bank
It would be interesting to take the thrown potion entities and store them so that it could be a maintenance free way to either instantly kill or heal anything.
I get Willy Wonka vibes from the snap shot server, it's like a mad lab, love it.

Like, is it because he had less subscribers in past? or maybe he likes to work on the projects which wont be useless after few weeks? or maybe its just not suitable for his playing style or what. If Doc ever joins, it'll be in Half Life. Half, because that's how many episodes there'll be before Doc ends the series in a single crazy contraption.

Half a redstone tick of delay in one block would’ve just been amazing, but they took it away.
Sure it makes redstone more complicated, but that is exactly what attracts people so much to it. The possibility to dive deep into it and create crazy stuff the more you understand about it.
And let’s face it… redstone is not beginner friendly in the first place.
