Questions, anyone, as to why some people look upon Taekwondo as a comedic art form?

As far as i know, they thought that tkd can't handle being grappled. And we didn't use our hand as much (which is not true)

@@QiuHeartz End it might be obvious, but I still would like to hear from someone: why are they hopping up and down with each technique like that when most systems do otherwise? If I am missing something, please let me know so that I can incorporate it into my training.

@@ProfessorBulletMG..Undulating movement, done appropriately with the correct technique, increases speed and power. When going down slightly, potential energy accumulates in the joints, which after going up slightly is transformed into kinetic energy, increasing speed and power compared to a simple straight hit. A video here on RUclips of two balls of equal mass moving on an inclined plane, one descends along a straight plane and the other along an undulating plane at the same distance. At first glance we would say that the one that goes along the straight plane arrives first, but This is not the case, the wave plane descends first, due to the gain and conversion of energy into speed.

@@danielr.710 Thanks for the info. Technical, but certainly more than I had.

@@ProfessorBulletMG This form of movement was introduced in the early 1980s after Choi Hong Hi decided that the traditional, Shotokan method of power generation could be improved upon.
The motion, known as "sine wave" (after the mathematical concept), is meant to be nothing more than the body naturally rising and falling as you move forward. Relax your knees, your body sinks. Take a step forward, it rises a bit. Step into a stance, it falls again as you deliver the strike, etc.
Some however, over-emphasise this and make it a deliberate action, which defeats the purpose of keeping the body relaxed until the point of impact.
