  • It is all too easy for a ferry port to be simply a sailing departure destination. Yet they really do offer some explorers' gems if you can build it into your itinerary.
With our second visit to Ireland in our motorhome, we choose Cairnryan, just 15 minutes north of Stranraer over to Belfast with Stena Lines. Over our full-time adventures since March 2016, we have boarded many ferries; some have been traumatic and others plain sailing. We have vowed to share our experiences to alleviate the anxiety many feel about sailing and the fearful scrapes on our bottoms.
In addition, we show you around this amazing part of Dumfries and Galloway and some of the fabulous places you can call home, whilst you while away some time before your ferry.
