Great story, we hope to go this coming winter to extend our 90 in 180. So you only had the 3rd party vehicle insurance bought as you entered Morocco, can you firm that please? Also how did you cope without refillable LPG (we have GasLow), did you need to buy a local gas bottle and regulator?
Hi Tony, yes Morocco offers this as a huge advantage for us UK passport holders. Yes we did lots of research and debating and weighing the small risk decided to go for the 3rd party Border Insurance at the port. It cost €200 for 90 days. You can get fully comp with Saga or LV, we understand, if you are already clients. Or go to Sterljng for a quote for a temporary cover. Although the quote for us was £935 for 90 days. In terms of LPG there is none. So we recommend a gas saving strategy; buy a Remoska (electric oven) or a slow cooker. Buy an electric 2 stove hot plate and buy a regulator in case you need to buy a local gas bottle which you can back feed in through your BBQ point. The campsites mostly have good eletric and wild camping is not encouraged, so your consumption or lack of will surprise you. We have created a free to download eBook dedicated too all things Morocco - have you see this. Happy to share the link. x
Hi, Many thanks for sharing Morroco. Great vlogs. One question. The insurance you bought, on entry, was it fully comprehensive or just 3rd party? Many thanks. Looking forward to your future vlogs.
Hi Barrie. Thanks for the lovely feedback. The insurance at the border is only third party and cost €200 for 90 days. You can get comprehensive if you're with Saga or LV. Or you may be able to get a temporary comp cover through Sterljng insurance. It's not cheap although is an option. Quoted £935 for 3 months. x
@@TheMotoroamers Thanks for the info. As I live in Portugal and, my motorhome has a Portuguese registration, the regular UK companies will not insure me. I will ask in Portugal but I doubt that they will give comprehensive cover for Morocco. It's good to know you can buy insurance on entering the country. Thanks
@Barrie Athey yes good point. The Birder Insurance is easy to arrange once you're through the Customs procedures. We have a video on arriving into the country, too. x
