Also, fun fact, any time someone died in the manga, Arakawa would draw a little picture of them ascending to heaven as angels. No matter who they were...
Except Shao Tucker, the only one that went straight to hell.
Adder's Musical Musings Yeah, and he can stay there!
When i first heard of that i was so pleased
Adder's Musical Musings so the humunculi when to heaven as well?
Adder's Musical Musings kimblee ascended to heaven as well?
Karen Priscilla yep everyone except Tucker
To quote a normie, this is not a kids show.
Its a shounen so it definitely fits into the kids show category
Can be little boys or teens.
Gabriel No, it's not by Shounen Jump, it's by the same company that does Ghost In The Shell: SAC and Durarara!!! ... so definitely NOT a kids show. lol
Shounen gangan is for junior high school students.
Christa, Gabriel said that it's aimed at the shounen demographic ("shounen" being the japanese word for "boy"), not that it's from shounen jump. I agree that's probably not a kids show tho
Homunculus Hope this show actually gave me animated Batman vibes.
6:02 the exact moment Navi realized *Aw shit this will be 'that' episode*
Z. Z. since she already watched FMA 2003 she knows that mind fuck is going to happen. but damn that reaction hahaha
If I remember right, the FMA2003 did a better job at this arc. FMA2003 build this over 2-3 episode, not like here.
Chemicalkinetics the 2003 arc was so brutal. It messed me up
do u guys think that fma2003 is more dramatic and well worked in drama part?
@@gustavomenezes4361 well to a certain extent yes the drama part really was major in that version. To the point it could scar you for life lmao... but at some point as they start to deviate from the main storyline & even add truths & shit it becomes just a mess so it was really hard to keep attached. (Although I would say that anime ending was more fitting for such a dark themed story & Could have been saved if it was further developed for a canon deviation special season or wtvr)
Navi's face as soon as she realized what episode this was, was such a mood
It is said that FMA fans only had one meme but that is not true, WE USED TO HAVE TWO!
Navi's face through the entire episode...she did well to suppress it all lol.
shockzz1234 she already knew what will happen
i felt her pain
Hate people like that
@@RA-vb6vc People that don't give spoiler you hate? That sounds ridiculous
It is said that FMA fans only had one meme but that is not true, WE USED TO HAVE TWO!
It's a terrible day for rain.
MarkusIX Silard stop ;(
MarkusIX Silard
It’s funny because it’s actually raining where I’m at. Washington state in the USA.
It was raining here to few days back, but not now. I usually say that when something said happens. And episode was said, and had rain in it. That rain finished me.
It is snowing here, so 'it's a terrible day for snow'. :)
Oh fuck off with this... I don't wanna cry
Navi is the real mvp, holding back all the feels from this episode....holy shit, such a warrior
What hurts me the most is that, even after what her father did to her, when he got hurt she cried for him. All she had was her father, all she wanted was his love, the person who was supposed to protect her.
By the way, hopefully you're already aware of this, but episodes 6, 8, 28, 29, 30, 32, 33, 36, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 48, and 49 have after-credits scenes that it's generally recommended to watch (sometimes they're just for fun, but more often than not they _are_ relevant to the plot and some events in future episodes might be harder to understand if you miss them)!
Marc B. Poblet wtf how do you remember the exact episodes with after credit scenes?
+Jamil Inumanox I... _don't?_
(Unless you count Google as a sort of external memory prosthesis, that is...)
Marc B. Poblet humm, didnt know you could find something so specific such as "how many episodes have after credit scenes".
My bad
You forgot 45. It's a short scene and not that important--what IS important is that that episode shows something different than usual during the ending credits song, and THAT is actually really important to the story. (There are other episodes that do that, but they have dialogue so it's pretty obvious--45 is just the song, but the images are part of the show's story.)
+Jed Blue Dammit, thanks, I _knew_ I should have checked more than one source, but I was feeling lazy and the one I (on Reddit) got had been verified by multiple people... I hope they see your comment and add the episode to their list, I'll also edit mine just in case.
I didn't expect less of a reaction from this episode... good god...
Anyone who doesnt cry in this episode is heartless.
@IndianTelephone: But what if they became a Nobody?
Loic Reviews mais frère t’es partout hahahaha
IndianTelephone I was horrified of this episode. But I cried during the....well, you know. That rainy day. :,,C
Loic Reviews The episode we all lost our innocence, forever...
I love a story of a little girl and her dog where they’re just inseparable.
Fuck, OOOOOFFFFFFF!!!! (Depression)
Warms your heart, doesn't it?
Too, soon.
lmao
Tyler Boring 😂😂😂😂
*"DADDY'S HURTING..."*
_"I can't do this..."_
Exactly how I was during this episode...
This episode is centrally focussed on Tucker's actions, but this episode also introduces one of the most interesting characters in the show.
Scar.
I wonder what they'll think of him later on.
prophetofgreed yeah knowing what happens in the future and where the anime go like I can't wait for them to see
This was such a great reaction! In regards to Tucker, his fate here is what happens in the manga as well. The original anime needed padding so they kept him alive for more conflict in the latter half of the series.
Roberto Garza and he became a weird Chimera himself
And Ed and Al are bizarrely okay working with him.
Just an FYI, Brotherhood is the version that is faithful to the manga. The original caught up to the manga very early and shot off in a crazy direction fast.
Grenn1471 Hey man Sloth is totally the mom!
And the stories that both shows share are far more compelling in the original.
Thats what happens when they're trying to buy time for by making fillers but unable to merge the stories back together. they ended up having to make an entire different series.
@@mrstrdknmabalz1412 I still thought it was pretty good. I even liked some of the things it had that didn't get into Brotherhood.
TINY MINISKIRTS!!!
Return to Shambala is not bad
Someone tell Navi the FMA "original" didn't follow the manga mostly since it was coming out the same time as the manga. FMAB is basically a direct copy of the manga, so this is how most of the story actually happened.
Let's hope she reads this, or you know, use a very rarely used site, that you might have heard of, google.
First FMA anime ran into the same problem Game of Thrones did. From the beginning it was an adaptation with many liberties and changes, but still using the source material as a basis, and it was good for the most part. Then they ran out of source material to take notes from (even if they decided to ultimately change how the stories played out), writing fell 100% on the scriptwriter's backs and they just weren't able to keep the same quality.
yes please someone tell her!
You're actually wrong. The reason FMA first season sucks dick is because Arakawa told the anime crew, the ending was going to be manga exclusive so they shouldn't be aiming to copy her work, so basically the anime from day 1 was never going to be the same as the manga because it would either be left halfway or have a made up plot. The anime crew chose to make it up which also gave them the excuse to use their ending as a movie before Brotherhood came out and actually gave us the real FMA adaptation.
The "original" is a perfect example on how making fillers can screw up an entire series, that they can no longer join back to the original plot, ended up making an entire new series.
14:39 xDDD Navi basking in the other Normies' tears and despair. savage.
I'd probably do the same with my friends.
I'm sorry but i died laughing at that part
I love that pretty girl for smiling at her friends pain
6:01 Navi immediately realizes what episode this is and what she's done to her fellow Normies. SO much regret written on her face lmao.
Everybody was triggered at "Daddy's Hurting" CTFU awe
CTFU? what's that?
@@calvinripley9093 Either, 'Cracking The Fuck Up' or 'Cheer the Fuck Up'.
If you thought this was dark, you should see this scene in the older version of FMA. They give the viewer more time to spend with Nina and her dog and more time to fall in love with her, which makes her death way more dark and traumatizing. I swear, the Brotherhood version is heartbreaking, but the older version was so much more traumatizing.
this episode was to show the worst side of science, as the third episode was to show the worst side of religion
6:02 the recognition in her eyes says everything
Navi's face at the mention of Tucker is just gold
Cat goes meow
Cow goes moo
Mouse goes squeak
Dog goes Ed..ward
>:D
Seriously though, first we had the extremes of religion last episode and now the extremes of science this episode. Alchemy in FMAB is a great thing, but I love how Arakawa also showed that something good - just like a lot of other things - can always be taken to the extremes.
With this episode, you just got a taste of the more darker side of FMAB. I mean, if Episode 2 didn't already show you a snippet of that, this episode certainly did.
''Eduwardo nii saaan''
i love that meme. lol
Lalisa T that mess up lol
Lalisa T Except that's all of that we get. After that it turns into a Shonen clichés(at some times). One of the reasons I loved 03 was because it kept those themes throughout the show.
FMAB kept its themes throughout the show as well though? The way I see it, there are a lot of themes that FMAB addresses as well as how they all interconnect and affect its characters. As for some of the Shonen cliches at times, to be fair, FMAB does it very well and very consistent in its writing.
Ah, yes, the Nina Tucker episode, also known as the first rage-quit moment. I had to talk my mom into continuing with the show after this ep.
Also, Mustang isn't condoning Shou Tucker's actions, or trying to defend them to Ed. He knows what the life of a State Alchemist can entail, and he's trying to prepare Ed for the truly messed up realities of that life.
FMA:B don't fuck around
i love all of their reactions at 14:34
stan min yoongi Everyone is facepalming and reducing to tears
And Navi is smiling 😂😂😂😂 I can't with her LMFAO I just can't.... I cracked up laughing tears when they did that 4 way split of everyone's reactions 😂😂😂😂
she just laughing her ass off xD
The collective sound of their hearts shattered into pieces... I heard it all the way from my house
when Nina says "Can we play now?" that scene still makes me cry like a little girl. 13:07
In dub her voice in that scene is so toecrumbling. She's a abomination and her sings of being a human girl is completely gone
"He's gonna' bail on that commitment."
You should've PRAYED that he would.
Love seeing Marketa react so much to FMA. She’s always really genuine in her reactions and you can tell what she thinks about the quality of a show. At first she was hesitant, but I’m glad to see that this episode is starting to hook her into FMA ^_^ keep it up!
Differences between this and the original anime, 99.9% of the time it's in keeping with the manga. Tucker indeed died here.
Navi is what Ben should have been. A quite observer who we see get delighted over the others pain and suffering.
In the original series they stucked to the manga in the first episodes but the anime caught up to the manga so they came up with a different plot. In Brotherhood, since it was made after the manga ended, the animation studio decided not to repeat the begining of the story making the first 10-12 episodes of Brotherhood an abreviated version of the first episodes of the manga.
Welcome to Feel-metal Alchemist
The show keeps it real. Science can do some dark, dark shit. The show showed what man is capable of doing in order to advance in research.
I WAS SO ANTICIPATING THIS REACTION. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.
"Why would they make this" hhahahaha
this is the episode i was dreading to see, its so sad and dark. but its the episode that proves that this isnt ur regular anime, its not a kids show. its heart shattering but its incredible writing.
At 6:00 when Navi heard the Name Shou Tucker her face changed😂😂😂
14:35.. oh the immediate heartbreak on the three of them. Only Navi is immune by virtue of knowing what was going to happen and steeling herself for it
This is why the Full Metal Alch is a masterpiece, they can do an ep like this, highest highs, lowest lows.
They couldn't show that OH my GOD hahahaha
Ben is cool. But as a viewer its obviously more entertaining to see your reactions and discussions without someone who's already seen the show.
Cool that you're doing it now like you did with avatar 👍
Bell Cross she hasnt seen brotherhood tho so she has every right to react with them. Its different by the middle of the series anyway.
Evonne Ermon Yes. I was just talking about Ben 👍
I liked having a center point I could relate too. Cuz I've seen both series. Ben was like a return to center.
Is this the birth of the FMA Cozy 4?
shockzz1234 god i hope so
I hope so
Hope so! xD
shockzz1234 I very much hope so!!
It was great with these 4. I wished the other two had not already seen the show.
navi's face when scar showed up on screen 👀
“THE WORLD SHALL KNOW PAIN!” -Pain (literally)
Best Anime of all time imo. I still haven’t seen a story as perfect as this. The action is great, the stakes are there, the characters and their development are amazing, the dialogue mixed in with the suspenseful and Incredible government conspiracy plots, just the way the whole thing comes together at the end as one big complete story, it was beautiful.
Best TV show aired of all time imo.
Yeah, and it somehow manages to keep getting better and better with almost every episode... a true masterpiece.
Hunter x Hunter(2011)? Imo that’s the best, 2nd FMAB.
Max Knight
😐
Vianey / it was like that for me too but you just have get pass the Exam Arc(the first 21 episodes), It gets way better after. it may be all light hearted or shonenish where your're at but gets dark later on. I'd say after episode 30-31 is when it really kicks off.
When "daddy's hurting" came in.
Trust me, i teared up with you guys. And I could not count how many times i watch this anime.
It's awesome how they gradually aged the characters that you barely noticed until you re-watch it.
Points to navi for holding it in she knows the story of Tucker
6:02 SHE REMEMBERS!! (lmao)
"Fuck a duck" is very appropriate response.
This episode made me take like a week to carry on watching and it was only from encoouragement by my friends
The change of face of the one who knows, Navi you kill me hahaha.
The edit @14:33 is everything. Even though it's a sad reaction, it's real. This is why I love watching your channel. Love you Normies
14:34 the true FMA experience
Damn I feel bad for Ben ☹️
Just started their fmab reactions and yeah feels bad that they had to cut out their friend who was so into the show. That too for the sake of viewers.
As soon as I saw what episode this was I was like oh nooooooo
Nina and her dog were so close. Practically glued to the hip!
boohoo723 Just completely inseparable!
I can't remember it accurately, but i think Tucker didn't die in the original and started experimenting......on himself. I'm glad they killed him off in Brotherhood.
I always thought this was really fucked up even back in 2003 series. Then someone years later mention Tucker could have done the same experiments by getting homeless people off the street and not even used his family. I hated this even more. How fucked up are you to use family when you could get random people?
Jjop017 Thats still fucked up and doesnt make what he did any better lmao. It'd be different if people actually volunteered or willingly did it but doing it against their will is still fucked
Afro Shinobi It is still fucked up and would make him a monster, but using his family before even considering to using random people made me hate him more since he doesn’t even have the excuse if I did it for my family.
If in his twisted head being an alchemist and furthering science was his greatest joy. Doesn’t it stand to reason he used Nina as a form of love as being a part of his experiment, there is no greater way for him to express his love for her....if he even loved her I mean.
It doesn't matter how many times you watch this, it NEVER gets easier.
Yup!
6:02 She knows.
Great reaction! The 2003 equivalent of this episode, "Night of the Chimera's Cry", was the first episode of FMA that I ever saw. Imagine watching this as a kid alone in the house on a dark, rainy night like I did. It was great watching your reactions realizing what is going on, especially Navi's realizing that yes, it's *that* episode (after saying she doesn't know which episode this is).
Navi looking at the camera like Jim from the office had me in tears😂
This is why i love japanese comics, in their culture laugh and cruelty, joy and sorrow are closely related so that's why they can bring us such stories able to switch your mood between laughs and tears so easily 💛
In a much later episode of the show you find out why he's called Fuhrer King Bradley
Remember how emotionally broken we all were after this? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Brotherhood, the one your watching now, follows the manga nearly exactly, including this episode, I realllly wanted to clarify that for you guys
also in the manga the scene were Alphonse stops ed from killing tucker, he made a threat when tucker kept mocking ed as they were leaving, saying, "If you keep talking i'll be the one to shut you up", a little bit more of his rage shown to make note of
Watching through these reactions again and the way that Navi's face just drops as soon as Tucker is mention is darkly funny
Actually, you know what I heard about this episode? The reason the writer wrote this arc was because people were writing to her saying they wish alchemy was real. She made this to show exactly what would happen if it were. It would give people like Shou Tucker the power to do unspeakable evil and other horrible things like this. Innocents like Nina and Alexander would suffer. So this is just a way to put people off that wish. And boy, does it. You see what evil we’re capable of without alchemy. Imagine what destruction we’d cause with it.
I was saying F word the entire time I am watching this part about Nina Tucker. Now I understand why Shou Tucker is the most HATED anime character of all time.
Fun fact the Iron Blood Alchemist who Scar killed in the beginning, Arakawa (The Author) stated in an interview that he was a good man an only lost to Scar because he just came out of an bar drunk. However in FMA they made him an evil side character an in FMAB they had him killed off being in control an not drunk.
This show is brutal sometimes.
The realization of what episode is this on Navi's face... Priceless.
Ahh episode 4 this was the episode that got me hooked originally. Be prepared for all the feels and dark episodes
Also, I can't help but feel the need to express my belief that Navi is the "best girl" of female reactors on youtube. Looks aside, love her personality - the realization of which story arc it was and then the smirks for upcoming realizations for certain scenes, lol.
When I first watched this episode me and my brother just walked around the house incapable of speech. We just couldn’t process what happened.
I'd like to formally welcome you all to Full Metal Fuck Yo Feelings
I've been waiting for this specific episode. My body is ready.
Edit: That pained smile on her face had me rolling 6:30 😂
6:00 she remembered Lmao
Navi looked very hot in this video.
So yeah...This is just the beginning
Great reaction. The beginning of this show, probably the first 10-12 episodes, are really dark. The show lightens up a little bit after, but it's generally a dark show and deals with a lot of mature themes like morality, choices, killing, forgiveness, and many others. And watch after the credits for some episodes. They sometimes play an extra scene that's relevant to the plot and answers some questions.
Lols at the buried in cement joke in the beginning.......for reasons SPOILERS.
Loved Navi’s face when she knew and not disappointed with the reactions. Get ready for a feels trip with this series guys hahaha.
This....This is the episode that F-ing DESTROYED me, OMG!
Hats off to Navi. She knows that loose lips sink ships. She gave nothing away. She aint gettin Chris’d.
P.S. maybe just have a box of tissues on hand for this series.
The zoom in reaction at the same time was very well placed. Great reaction guys!
FMA plays for keeps
Brotherhood fallows the manga so it's technically canon as compared to the first show.... Also buckle up shit gets dark...er lol
OMG! The look on Navi's face when she realized what was coming was f**king priceless! lol
Im at 6:06 in the video because I just had a laughing fit because I was looking at Navi's before they showed Tucker and on god she had a ptsd flashback like bro that change in her face was so incredibly real, I lost it. Those initial few seconds is what triggered looks like by definition. This reaction should be called A Navi's Anguish. Christ I havent even finished this one yet and it's going in my favourite reactions playlist
Last episode focused on the bad side if religion. This episode focused on the bad side of science.
Fun fact: in anime the eyes are considered the windows to the soul and often inform you of someone's emotional state. So hidden eyes = hidden intentions, motives, or thoughts.
In case you haven't seen episode 6 yet, you should know there's a scene after the credits
I'm not on their patreon, but I saw in another comment section of their's that they are like 6 episodes ahead of what's on RUclips.
i love Navi's face when they mentioned Nina lol she knew it was coming
Awesome reaction guys! I feel bad for Ben btw, he didnt deserve to be out of these reactions at all, i dont think he ever said anything he wasnt supposed to say, sad people complain this much. Anyway keep it up guys!
18 years later.... man it still fucking hurts the same as the first time I watched it 💔💔💔
Now lets wait for episode 10 reaction
lol, That look on Navi's face when they show Shou Tucker at 6:03 is priceless.
I'm laughing so hard from their reaction... But still crying at the same time
i recommended this anime to my friend, when she saw this episode she was really shocked and asked me if there was any more episodes like this. Cause if that was the case she didn't want to keep watching.. she loved the anime ^^
