I'm confused about the last example. If you started at the carbon with the chloro group and go in the counterclockwise direction, numerically you would get 1+2+2+3 which equals 8. Why would this not be the way to number it?

The final example iupac name is 2-bromo-3-chloro-1-ethyl-2-methyl cyclohexane !
