    Does anyone else hoard pretty napkins? I find it hard to use them, even in my art journal:) Feel free to leave a suggestion if there's a mixed media tutorial you'd like to see in the future - next Tuesday I'm going to be working on a mini zine.

      It didn't occur to me to use pretty napkins in an art journal like that,but I like it...watching your videos has inspired me to get back into drawing,sketching,painting,all of that artsy stuff and you have given me SO many ideas to use in my own work...I never really thought about an art journal,but I am so inspired by art again that I'm going to do one...thank you so much for your videos :)

    I love how you did the page edges in the black. It gave it an aged look. Have you ever thought of making a page look like an old map for the background? It might be fun and would look neat with your pirate lady :)

      Maybe trying something new would help? Perhaps collaging or art journaling - do a project where you don't have to draw. I often find that changing things up can help me when I'm dissatisfied with my art - I like to focus on colouring and I
      print out some colouring pages so I can practice and not worry about drawing the outlines😊 Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching.

    Are you using an acrylic block for stamping or a gelly block? I’m new to art and my craft store sells both and I have no idea what the difference is between them or which I should use

    • @WindyIris
      @WindyIris  3 года назад +1

      I am using a acrylic block for stamping. A gelly block is a softer material and can be used for creating mixed media backgrounds. The frugal crafter has some good tutorials on how to create prints using a gelly block. But for stamping you use an acrylic block😀

    How do you get it to where it’s not wrinlking

    • @WindyIris
      @WindyIris  5 лет назад

      The napkin or the art journal paper? For the napkin I've separated the layers and then smoothed it down with the glue and a paint brush. For the art journal page - it's a thicker paper so that helps and I usually added a layer of gesso and that helps as well. On the whole my art journal pages are all a bit warped and wrinkly because of how much glue and paint I put on them:)

    Ummm...what do you do if markers bleed through several pages...I can't figure out how to work with it!

    • @WindyIris
      @WindyIris  6 лет назад +1

      I place a piece of scrap paper underneath the page I'm working on and that protects the rest of the books for getting damaged:)
