Bummer they decided on a measley 128gb ($499) and then jumps to 512gb ($649) rather a 256gb to a 512gb. They inflate these prices way too much! I can get a fast 512gb card for $25-$40 bucks yet meta charges an extra $150 for going from a 128 to 512gb.
I wouldn't be surprised if Meta introduces in the near future a 256 GB model for the price of the current 128 GB model and let the 128 GB model drop price.
I went to best buy and got mines it was worth it i see better feel better and play better but im still getting used to it its a great inprovement from my quest 2 which i had for about 2-3 years and i will keep it beacuse it reminds me of all my great vr experiences!
For me the missing part is still the non-gaming applications. We are closer and closer to a visual reality but we dont have anything but silly games, not to mention of that those are still very far away from real. We need VR services, VR contents even if those are not 6-DoF, like visual tours on places you will never see in real life.
silly games is so crazy, but i agree to a extent, but the meta quest is designed for gaming, their are other (more expensive) headsets designed specifically for work applications. However i always get concerned with this stuff cause it seems so dystopian

you should get the silicon facial interface its a little more comfortable and also get the elite strap with batterie it helps even the weight out and its more comfortable over all it also adds 2+ hours
Glasses. You mentioned you wore your contacts. Have you tried to wear it with your glasses? My old Rift S I had prescription lens inserts made for it. There was a major concern with them being scratched by the lenses rubbing against each other.

I had a quest 2 and i had to get a replacement because the lenses were off and the corners of objects went blurry but then my replacement had scratches all over the lense so i got rid of it all together but i think im going to give this a go after watching this

You got your contact lenses in? So these are not usable if you wear glasses. I know that with the Meta2 I have a pretty tight fit with glasses so much so that it puts a crimp on playing time because it gets very uncomfortable as time goes on intends to leave a mark on your face. 😂
Saw the quest 3 in store yesterday and bought it. First VR headset and waited till they got rid of the facebook account requirement. Its really good, biggest flaw is that the battery is shit and i wear glasses and they don't fit in as good as i thought. Will just wear contacts or get inserts.

My 2 was really falling apart so I got the 3 and it’s such an upgrade. Way better resolution, haptics, graphics, it’s just insane and it can’t be describes in words how much better it it, especially with the new pancake lenses which make it feel even more immersive

Just the fact that such an expensive and "futuristic" device is starting to "falling apart" is concerning tbh. Then again, if you use it for 12+ hours daily that might be another story, but is highly unrealistic
This is kind of like the hoverboard thing as they get more popular the more companies will start making them but cheaper and then a one point you just have a bomb strapped to your head
it's funny you should say.. you forgot u're wearing the headset. Quest 3 is super uncomfortable and wearing it, i felt like it was strapped to my face the whole time. another thing you forget to mention is the light bleed from the bottom of the headset, you can see the floor from the nose opening.

Looks good but I really hate how most games just feel like tech demos. I still just want full games like skyrim fallout and no man's sky. Maybe when the headset has the power of a entire 4090 devs will finally make full AAA vr titles.

@@hpvrstuff3659 quest3,I got one yesterday and the elite strap(hope there’s no repeat of the breaking issue) and I’m waiting on delivery of the hand straps that replace the battery covers(the button to open the battery covers is very cute my girlfriend says) great so far apart from a problem that quite a few people are having with paypal etc

an sd card costs less than a 512 gb emmc and im pretty sure meta uses NVMe + profit margins

i believe that you can use it while sitting (stationary boundary, without "spraying" an area).
I am on my 4th VR headset and as an early adopter, I can assure you that you only need a tiny circular rug or mat to play VR and you'll be good to go!

this one is glasses friendly finally. It has a feature where you can pull out the facial interface to allow room for glasses so you're good 👍
