@37 Plastic Haircuts Not quite. It is a fusion of at least two concepts, one of them being NASA's space station Freedom. NASA doesn't even have the capability to launch astronauts to the station currently. To call the ISS, a NASA run station is wrong, it is international.
Can't believe you left out the Phalanx. The ship is so large it's more of a flying fortress - some sections are abandoned and neglected because there aren't enough crew members to maintain them.

I think the difference shown is way too large. I was under the impression that the second was roughly twice as large as the first *in volume*, which would make the diameter 1.26 times larger. 160 vs 200km seems to fit. So how come it took them 20 years to build the first one, but only a couple of years to build the second? 😊
I found it hilarious at the end when it was Halo vs Star Wars. Star Wars was like, we got the Death Star, then Halo is like we have High Charity, then Star Wars shows the Death Star 2, and Halos is like, wow cool, but here's Halo beyotch! Then they're like, we're not done yet! The Ark!

Woah, Halo has some truly big ships, I am impressed that they beat the second Death Star I also noticed a mistake: the Star Destroyer model you showed was an Imperial class and they are 1,6 kilometers long. The Victory class Star Destroyer is 900m long though but they posses some distinct features that make them stand out more
And the second Death Star is put at around 200-360 km and not 900km. But yeah The forerunners build some Huge shit. The Mantle's Approach is a 370 km high forerunner ship. High Charity is bigger tho at around 505km hight. So the covies still got the biggets ship we saw in Halo
For those wondering, the Ark is actually paltry compared to some of the Forerunner's larger projects. There was actually another larger Ark (the Greater Ark) that manufactured the original twelve 30,000km Halo models which was destroyed during the Forerunner-Flood war. Though as far as I know, it's exact specifications were never actually elaborated upon. Also, they have hundreds of shield worlds of various sizes dotted across the galaxy. Should have thrown in Shield World 006 (Trevalyan) from Halo for good measure. It's a literal dyson sphere measuring at 2 AU (300 million km) with an internal surface area equivalent to 500 million Earths that was able to shrink down to the size of a baseball & move through slipspace.
D00Rhinge Maethrillian was the capitol of the Ecumene which was believed to be greater than any of the Arks in scale; although like them, very little information actually exists. IIRC, it was believed to be around the size of a gas giant equivalent to Saturn, maybe even larger. It housed a mere 100,000 Forerunners of the highest castes; being mainly builders of course & trillions of ancilla. It was destroyed during the war as well. Keep in mind that individual high ranking Forerunners would claim entire worlds as their own & even design them down to their own personal tastes as well. Inheriting entire planets as family heirlooms wasn't unheard of even.
D00Rhinge - Like I said, comparing the Galactic Empire or the Imperium of Man to the Ecumene is a ludicrous assertion to make. You can multiply every asset that exists in the former's setting by a factor of ten & the Forerunners would still stomp the opposition. As for the latter, they can literally run circles around them & encapsulate entire planetary systems with swarms of sentinels. The Forerunners are not to be fucked with. And yet, they are considered mid-tier in Sci-Fi; several higher polities: i.e Culture, Xeelee, Time Lords, Downstreamers to name a few make them either look like kids on a playground or even bacteria in comparison.
D00Rhinge - To be honest, almost everything else that anyone else posts here is generally either incredibly misleading, or fallacious unsubstantiated claims. A lot of the comments here make me both cringe & laugh at the same time. By the way, I am a Halo fan & I can tell you right now most of these guys probably don't really even know what they are saying, but to be fair, the wank is equally apparent on both ends. Halo is far from the best. Take the Xeelee for instance. They can shit on every single faction mentioned here all at once & not lose a single casualty while doing so in virtually zero-time.
Too be fair, the Death Star at least can defend itself against big and small targets. The halo big stuff... not so much. True they are *kill all* weapons, but thats counter productive to who would win. =P
@@shade8816 actually the halo did have a defense system but 343 guilty sparks lowered it as he was waiting for the reclaimers AKA humans to return for thousands of years
Technically the Homeworld lore has some of the largest artificial objects of any game I've ever seen. Usually referred to as Progenitor megaliths, you can only view them from a distance because they make up some of the skyboxes. Mission 8 of Homeworld 2 is a good example.
+noblesicks "The rings can destroy all life in the galaxy." You know that killing life of only ONE galaxy doesn't compare to the power of the other civilizations.
Speaking of which, I noticed the CSO Supercarrier isn't even in this video. Also, what about Snoke's Mega Star Destroyer? And also the SW ships shown here are just from canon. But this video would never end if we tried to compare all the Legends ships. Also what about the Autobot Ark? Or the Nemesis?
Prophetsbane 17 Star roads that can rip apart entire star systems and can change size completely ignoring the basic the laws of physics (based off of neural physics instead). They are are indestructible and can only be destroyed when a halo is fired. When they materialize, they slightly warp space-time. Yea they're OP. Lol
Unknown Entity the ark shown in this video is known as the lesser ark and made the halo ring shown but the greater ark made halos three times the size and was destroyed by star roads
Very interesting video with a lot of attention to detail! However, 1) It would have been interesting to see the Alexei Leonov from 2010: The Year We Make Contact, the Nostromo from Alien and Deep Space 9 from Star Trek here to see how they compare 2) The ISS is not just owned by NASA, and is made of modules from the Russian and Japanese space agencies as well 3) The video goes a little too fast at times, not giving the viewer enough time to look at the structure or its dimensions
Missed ONE? How about Slave 1 (Star Wars); Thunder Road (Explorers); Hot Needle of Inquiry, Lying Bastard, and the Ringworld (Ringworld); Botany Bay, Voyager, Deep Space 9 (Star Trek); Apollo 11, Sputnik (real life); Rocketfort (Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out); Chitauri Mother Ship, flying donut, et al. (MCU); I'm sure there are lots more.
imperial-class star destroyers aren't 900m long, they're 1,600m long. Victory I-class star destroyers are 900m long, and that is obviously an imperial-class model.
WhoIsMark201 In fact, no. In Star Trek TNG: A Final Unity (PC game), the Chodak Unity Device was a sphere with a diameter of 314.000.000 km diameter (aprox. 2 AU, same as earth orbit diameter around Sun). And it could move in space an time, so it is a ship in all effects, albeit one of such power that could be used to perform stellar engineering.
alamos8 The Forerunners created a Shield World about the same size. That's the largest known object in the halo universe. I didn't even mention the indestructible star roads that can take any size and rip apart Star systems.

indeed but size does not mean fire power the infinity could take out high charity as the infinity is newer and has better tech and the reaper are meant to be op same with borg plus there was no forerunner ships only there structure unless you count the engines on the infinity
The Reapers and Borg are really not that impresive when compared to other advanced races in fiction. But when it comes to sheer fire power and distruction in fiction I think the forerunners run supreme, considering that the Halo rings when fired destroyed all sentient life in the milky way galaxy. Motherfuckers build artificial planets for fun and massive megastructures, I don't think firepower was an issue for them.

The halo arc is just bullshit. Its no more SciFi. Im no fanboy of anything. Halo would be at least not that a piece of crap that would break under its own gravity. The halo arc would collapse by its own gravity.
O. Rothe How? It is built to sustain life and is built by the forerunners, the smartest things in the universe. and if the Ark would collapse in its gravity, so wouldnt the sun?
Robert Staples Of course a moon sized weapon designed to disintegrate planets would make short work of what's bassicaly large harvester ships with laser eyes. Not sure how long the death star would remain in imperial hands considering the average stormtrooper's resistance to mind control.
Pork Sausage - Disregarding memetic Shepard who can even sex a Time Lord to victory, literally nothing in Mass Effect has the firepower to even scratch an ISD. Disregarding the necessity of an external infrastructure & full on bloodlust, it could prove a major problem for anyone that crosses it.

@@nfineon First off, I disagree on your first statement, I'm sure there is enough metal in the universe. And also this is sci-fi, even the Lesser Ark is too massive to be a shape different from a sphere, but the Forerunners found a way.
+RandomUser043 That would depend entirely around which star you build it around. It might make more sense, resource wise or time wise, to travel to a smaller star so you wouldn't need to make it so big. At the point of building a Dyson sphere, you are looking at interstellar travel for resources anyways... there isn't nearly enough material in one system to build a sphere, you would probably need to scavenge hundreds, or even thousands.
But one idea that they have is having solar panels in a Dyson Swarm, which would not be a solid sphere, but rather many, many solar panels orbiting the Sun and broadcasting the energy that they collect to Earth, since the Sun never stops shining on them, there is no intermittency.

Your head
XNinja2017 Because you obviously know alot more than me about all this, would you mind reminding me of the size of maethrillian?

I’m so thrilled you included B5 on this list.
So this pretty much shows that the Forerunners are some of the meanest motherfuckers in fiction. Building spaceships bigger than planets and shit.
indeed but size does not mean fire power the infinity could take out high charity as the infinity is newer and has better tech and the reaper are meant to be op same with borg plus there was no forerunner ships only there structure unless you count the engines on the infinity
Shadow Lord Then the precursors whip out their galactic dicks and fuck everyone.
We dont have much feats for the precursors but theyre still regarded as the strongest race in HALO.
CommanderM117 no ships? *looks at all the dreadnoughts built, among others* riiiiight...
That was really really good but I was waiting for the pillar of autumn
It's a regular mothership
The infinity is much larger
Pillar of Autumn is a Halcyon-class cruiser, not a mothership.
what about the Covenant CSO-class supercarrier they were almost 29km lenght
The Halo ship I was waiting for is the Long Night of Solace which is 28,960m long.
Jake And Company same
Well you fucked up the Borg cube. It's 27 cubic meters? Nice.
+Domagoj Kučko 3x3x3= 27
+Domagoj Kučko Yeah, it's supposed to be kilometers not meters. :)
+Feder Schwert That's French. :P
+Feder Schwert that depends on where you are from
+Adjuni well yeah but rest of his message is in english so suddenly to snakke another language seems kinda weird gør it not?
Awesome work. Can't wait to see Part 2!
No starcraft starships? I am offended
The Hiperion, the protoss mothership and leviatan, the adun spark
@@OoBlackcoreoO yes, I know but none of them were in the video
just like battle cruiser!
I was waiting on battlecruiser

Hey, that looks like...
A dragonfly
Da Dragon Durp yeah...not sain
More like a dick
Da Dragon Durp Are you sure?
pimple boobies
Da Dragon Durp yeh
Yes I'm happy something from halo is biggest.
It's not actually the biggest sci-fi ship though.
Cracno112
Thats just the lesser arc
Still not the biggest
The ark isnt actually a ship but an installation for life. kinda like the rings
cant compare their storylines, but halo's storyline is the best
LOVE this video...2 personal additions I will add...
Ishimura (Dead Space, E.A. Entertainment)- 1.6 km
SDF-1 (Robotech Macross City, Harmony Gold USA)- 1,200 m
though the video i was waiting for the covenant supercarrier when i saw the death star 2 i thought star wars won but then when it panned out i knew the halos would beat it then the ark was just overkill
this video makes me happy
that was the lesser ark :)
Payton Mccraw same
The halo arc is just bullshit.
"Destroyer 900m Star Wars" Proceeds to schow the 1,6km long Imperial Star destroyer.
He probably confused it with the Victory-class Star Destroyer, which is 900 meters long. They look very similar.
@@wilhufftarkin8543 my thoughts exactly
**also spells executor wrong**
Super class star destroyers also were 8km long, not 10. (Executor)
@@geoffkemp7 the Executor is 19km long.
Damn. Never thought the reapers would look puny compared to some of these starships. I mean the death star(s) would just tear them apart
Robert Staples Of course a moon sized weapon designed to disintegrate planets would make short work of what's bassicaly large harvester ships with laser eyes. Not sure how long the death star would remain in imperial hands considering the average stormtrooper's resistance to mind control.
What if the emperor knew the reapers were coming and built the deathstar to stop them
FiresideBoomer - A single ISD can likely solo the entire Mass Effect setting..... You do know that right?
Pork Sausage - Disregarding memetic Shepard who can even sex a Time Lord to victory, literally nothing in Mass Effect has the firepower to even scratch an ISD. Of course, lack of logistics & infrastructure are what will destroy it, but it can easily 1v1 stomp everything that they can throw at it. They'd just drown it in numbers & that would be that.
Disregarding the necessity of an external infrastructure & full on bloodlust, it could prove a major problem for anyone that crosses it.
XNinja2017 Yeah, well. Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Sherlock.
Mass Effect isn't loved for how well it can do in a battle against other sci-fi universes.
The first video by MBS I have ever watch, feeling nostalgic
Well done!
Only one quibble: The Earth is is about 2x too big. I think you set 12,742 km as the radius, instead of the diameter. :)
Which means the Ark would look even bigger in perspective. Anyhoo, still--well done.
Star Wars: "We got a deathStar, beat that"
Halo: whips out high charity - "You were saying?"
Star Wars: "Well played, but i bet you can beat our Death Star 2!"
Halo: Pauses, Pulls out Halo ring
Star wars: Starts to make a remark
Halo: Reaches behind the table and brings out the ark
Star Wars: Gets up and walks away in shame...
Star Wars: comes back with star killer and blows up the ark
BEAT MY STARKI-
Halo: gets greater ark and some more halo rings and nukes the fuck out of star killer and the rest of Star Wars creations, so what were you saying about your midget planet?
Star Wars: cries, I fuckin hate you. As voice get more high pitched
Transformers: "We got an ark BEAT THAT"
Happy Things With John
Halo: grabs the greater ark, the ark and all the halo rings and the max stage of a flood outbreak, so transformers you think your ark can beat all of this? First we start with the flood to murder your planet with the most population and then we use the arks and halos and ctrl, alt, delete your race and your ark from the all multiverses!!!
@@fastharbor8365 *Brings Unicron And Primus* (The most biggest robots)
In other words, whatever you can make up, we'll just say ours is bigger. Not impressed.
I think when it comes to actual moving spaceships, Destiny might have some of the biggest. Oryx' dreadnought is like 3500km long, and The Almighty is 7000km wide. AFAIK only Eldar Craftworlds are larger, at least without getting into stuff like The Culture.
The smallest is missing and at the same time, the largest ...
- "Hello, I am the T.A.R.D.I.S, on the outside I am smaller than a TIE fighter, but in one of my rooms a frozen supernova fits at the moment of its explosion, and I can drag a planet from one end of the universe to the other"
You forgot about The Axiom from Wall-E!
Wow! This was a true test of my nerdom and it stretched my sci-fi fandom/knowledge to the limit... but I recognized them all
Note: This is the "Lesser" ark (Halo 3) Somewhere in space (in the cannon of Halo) there is an even larger "Greater" ark.
Greater ark makes the lesser ark look like a fuckin bitch
The Greater Ark is around 3x the size of the Lesser Ark, if we do the calculations the Greater Ark is around 380,000 km in diameter.
*what the fuck*
@@johnderat2652 which would require more metal than exists in the entire universe, none of these designers must have consulted with any physicists on this. Planets aren't build entirely of metal, nor are asteroid fields, you would have to find an entire universe that is made of nothing but metal at that point, strip it down, at which point it would reach the mass of a black hole across the thickest points of the structure, but not before going supernova first.
@@nfineon First off, I disagree on your first statement, I'm sure there is enough metal in the universe.
And also this is sci-fi, even the Lesser Ark is too massive to be a shape different from a sphere, but the Forerunners found a way.
Where is your classic video that show spaceship size comparisons that had the city below? It had the Dyson Sphere in it. Hope it gets re-posted.
Would have liked to see the USG ISHIMURA from dead space.
Wow! Awesome video! Thank you
+Ashton Hartley Thanks ;)
+MetaBallStudios What about Dyson Sphere? 200 million km diameter?
+Karlo Tvrtko thanks I was just going to ask. 8)
Where is the long night of solace?
Yea facts
@@mhm-fo1hr the long night of Solace is, or was, a covenent assault carrier

Exactly, isn't that the biggest "ship" in Halo?
UNSC: those are rookie numbers bump them up
