I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for....
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
@@NancyBetty-x That's actually quite impressive, I could use some Info on your FA, I am looking to make a change on my finances this year as well
@@MathiasRicardo- My advisor is Victoria Carmen Santaella;
You can look her up online
@@NancyBetty-x The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?
Just moved 50k out of BofA to my Amex HYSA. I can't believe I had my money doing nothing there for years.
Love hearing you made the switch. It's time to grow that money! 🚀💜
BofA Deez Nutz
Amex customer service is literally second to none. It was a huge factor in getting me to use their travel cards.
This is where I keep my emergency fund. Love it!
Nice choice! 💚
You dont worry if this account no offer a atm card?
@@alfredoocando1905 Do you not understand the point of a HYSA? Keep your money in a checking account then if you need to access it all the time. Or get a checking account with the HYSA account so you can transfer money from the HYSA account to the checking account and pull the cash from the checking account. Amex has a checking account and HYSA account. The transfer between the two is instant.
Love amex everything is excellent and customer service is incredible!!
AMEX!!! Loved this review. So thorough and detailed. You’re the best! 🥰🎉🤑
Awww thanks! 💚
I just opened my account at 4.35%. I opened it to get a stronger relationship before I open credit cards. I won’t ever be touching this money so don’t care about withdrawing as you stated. I currently have WF and will be also opening a credits union to also build relationship for future auto and home loan.
Yup same exactly why I went with them !
I just did the same. I have been with WF for almost 20 years. I now have 4 Amex cards, and I want a better relationship with them. Opened the High Yield a month ago, and just opened the checking account a few minutes ago. The checking is going to be a bit trickier, because I have 3 direct deposits with Wells and don't see myself changing that. However, since I'm already am with Amex, it's so easy to slide money over from WF to Amex.
AMEX keep the content coming. Always so detailed
Thanks for this video! This was actually more helpful than the info I found on the actual Amex site.
Wow thank you! 💖 Amex should start paying me for these videos hehe!
Dayana, I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Thank you for the videos. Amex!
Hey, I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving my friend! 💚
This the best video I watched all year great Quality and Straightforward information 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wow, thank you so much!!! 💜
Hi Dayana, thank you for your videos. Do you know when is the closing date for the Apple Card, I just got it but doesn't say anything. Thanks.
I've had it since 2021. Good HYSA
Haha I would hope so if you’ve had it for that long. Nice to see you around my friend 💚
They give 4.6apy if you have a platinum card with them not sure if it’s only for platinum cards
Great information thank you
Thank you! 💚
Great job explaining it, thanks
Glad it was helpful! 💜
GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS!
Thank you my friend! 💚
AMEX! Interesting video, I had no idea they had a high yeild savings. There's roumors of amex taking over the Apple card from Goldman Sachs, I'm curious as to what you think about it?
Hi Dayana! I was wondering if you would do a review on Fidelity Bloom and some of their Robo-Investing?
Hi, i’ll definitely look into it 💚
AMEX!!!! thanks for this review
My pleasure!! 💚
AMEX! First time here and I’m looking to open a savings account for my son.
AMEX Great content as always
I like that they don’t require a direct deposit every month in order to get the high APY
Well done. 👍
Thank you! 💜
AMEX - Thanks for sharing! 😊
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching! 😊
Can you do a video on the fair wind credit union
I have a question about the card when getting the sofi and what about the atm with sofi
Yes SOFI offers an ATM Card.
Does direct deposit differ from depositing a certain amount from a bank account? I saw on the site they mentioned “qualifying deposits. I’m looking into SoFi but I don’t want to have my salary deposited into SoFi or another HYSA.
Omg yes I was thinking SoFi too but after reading they terms and policies and talking to the agents and stuff it’s really not worth it and you won’t get the full 4% APR rate because you have to consistently deposit $5000 each month in order to keep the 4% rate if you do not, it would just default to the 1.2% approximate rate
It’s my go to savings.
Nice! 💚 How long have you had it for?
I have American Express savings account For emergencies
Just opened a new HYS account. Have 4 Amex cards and decided to go all in. Also just opened an Amex checking account, and diverted $500.00 every two weeks from my direct deposit to new account.
Nice saving tactic! 😎💜
@@DayanaPlays I love your videos!!!
I have a question. I also have 4 Capital One cards. You said Capital One reduced your limit on your Quicksilver for not using it. I'm worried that might happen to me. How long of a period did that take to happen if you don't mind me asking.
Can u do citibank hysa??
Lol you loveeee your SoFi 😂 I respect it though.
You already know 😎
@@DayanaPlays great video tho. I recently opened a SoFi HYSA last week and then just opened an Amex HYSA after I finished this video. Excited to see how they both go. I do like that Amex doesn’t require direct deposit
It's worth mentioning that Barclays HSYA has had a historically higher APY than AMEX HYSA, gets mentioned even less and has equal reputation.
Both are 4.35% right now
I’m going to do this one, I think. Amex is giving me 4.65 for being a Platinum cardholder. That extra .35 (or .30) will almost pay for the card annual fee.
Did you register over phone or online? I am a current platinum card holder as well so curious if I will get the same increase rate. Thanks!
@@dustinkirkland5412 I did it online. Check your email, because I had an email that gave me a specific invite link that mentioned the 4.6%. I also had another email that only offered me 4.3%, so look for that email.
Nice! 🔥 Did you end up signing up for it?
@@DayanaPlays yes. Very easy sign-up process.
I didn't know they offered that. I have their green, basic card but will look into platinum. I think it's about $600 @ year?
Why not ufb direct and wealthfront? Lot higher interest
What’s the withdrawal cost for moving funds from Amex HYSA to an external bank?
Huh? NONE! It's your money!
Not gone lie you can be a news cast with that voice
That's a first! Thanks I guess haha! 😂
@@DayanaPlays I’ll tune in to whatever channel your on & your welcome 😌
Are you included with the savings account?
It is possible to open an account in sofi with a itin number?
Hmmm, I don't think so. But, here are the requirements for opening a SoFi checking & savings account: support.sofi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061565591-Who-can-open-a-SoFi-Checking-and-Savings-account
Hope that clears things up! 😊
Would I be allowed to withdraw money from my high yield savings account when I need?
Yes- it just takes a few days to clear.
Hey! So you can’t withdraw physical cash directly from a savings account since it usually doesn’t come with an ATM card. But you can transfer money to a linked checking account to access it, which usually takes 1-2 business days to clear up.
However if you have an American Express personal checking account, you can link it for easier transfers or use the atm card they gives you for cash withdrawals. You can also request a check if needed.
Hope that clears things up! 😊
Great video. Not a fair comparison though.
Thank you! 💚 Why do you think that?
@@DayanaPlays because the Amex is a standalone HYSA. Unlike the sofi you need a checking and a saving account in order for you to get the higher APY with direct deposit.
Is it true that if you have the Platinum card, you get a 4.6% apy with Amex?
Yes, i just received this offer
What about for the Amex Green card?
@@josephmgomez3921 Naw, I have that....That's the lowest card
Does SoFi require a minimum amount for direct deposit?
Hey, there is no minimum direct deposit amount required to earn the highest APY. There is to unlock other things like their sign up bonus though.
Hope that helps 😊
Is there a penalty if you withdraw your money?
NO!
AMEX!!! 😎💰😎💰😎
Hey Jay!!! 💚
Why nobody talks about acorns 3% on checking and 5% on savings ??
Because you have to pay for it so it wouldn’t be worth it
Acorn sucks
AMEX baby!
💜
AMEX❤❤❤
Bestie!!! 💚
Why not go with CIT and get 5.05% APY?
Hey, I’ve talked about CIT before. The only thing I don’t like about them is that to earn their 5.05% APY, there’s a balance requirement of $5,000+; anything less than $5,000 only earns 0.25% APY, which isn't very good. Whereas with Amex, there’s no minimum opening deposit or balance requirement to earn 4.30%.
But like I mentioned in the video, everyone's situation is different. Some people may be okay with CIT requirements, while others may prefer no requirements. That’s why the “best” bank/account for me may not be for you, and vice versa. 💚

Great info but the comparison is apple to oranges because you are comparing checking to savings. There are other similar high yield savings accounts that should have been compared with Amex. I have both Amex and Discover high yield savings and have no issues with either one. They are pretty much the same.
Thanks! 💚 I actually compared savings to savings. Amex high yield vs. SoFi high yield. I have talked about Discover’s highyield savings account too in recent videos, but that would’ve been a great comparison too, although I did mention them in the video as an alternative.
@@DayanaPlays You did mention it, but when you showed the comparison on the screen, it was the high yield savings versus the Sofi checking. That’s what I was trying to point out. Appreciate the information and the detail and work you put into it
