  • Fender's flagship rotary effect is on my table this week, and it's a rather impressive beast!

I love this pedal. It's great for anything like "cold shot" "black hole sun" "badge" and "let it loose" and anything else you want to play with it.
The picking sensitivity setting is a really cool feature. The best sounds from this pedal in my opinion come as speeds are shifting or ramping up and down, the inbetween kind of lush sounds you can get.
A great feature that could be added to a future pedal like this would be a setting that autoshifts between your slow and fast settings.

Sounds great. I have a vibe/rotary pedal, but could always use another. Especially one that does so much.

I really like this pedal, and their "bubbler" chorus as well (I think that's what it's called)
    Nice demo :)

I need to try that one...
      Cheers. And thanks for watching!

Hmmm... I don't really NEED another pedal, but this one is tempting

Hammond made a great rotary pedal but it was discontinued. The price tag was a little high. You can find used ones on Reverb for $500+.

Hello dude. Nice demo as always. I've read a couple reviews of people complaining about certain "gap" between the slow and fast speed and that there isnt a smooth transition. I didnt hear anything on any of the 3 modes.
i found a pinwheel on sale at a great price (it seems the pedal is already discontinued), and im about to pull the trigger, but im doubting. I would like to ask you, do you recommend me this pedal?? I love how it sounds, and i really dont care if its not perfect/accurate. It seems that some people forget this kind of pedal is just a simulation/imitation of the real thing. I hope you can help me. Thank you for your attention🙂

Hi mate, yes I definitely think this is a great pedal and recommend you get one, especially if the price is right!
I certainly haven't noticed an issue with transitioning from one rate to another, personally. 👍🏼

Sounds more like a vibe-style pedal than a rotary one, tbh. Very phasey and flat-sounding. Even a chorus pedal like the MXR Micro Chorus can do a very good "fast leslie" thing for way less money. The Ventilator, the Lex and the Lester G are infinitely better options than the Pinwheel for convincing rotary tones.

I've got a rotary shoot-out video coming out soon, and I tried really hard to get a Lester G for that, but couldn't find one for a decent price.
I do like how The Pinwheel sounds, personally, but I agree with you that it's far from the best rotary effect I've ever heard...

i want to try this with gilmour tones to see if it can recreate comfortably numb rotary tone as well as coming back to life

Is this analogue like I find on some internet info ? For the price it seems like a really nice pedal. Good video like always.

      Many thanks!
I think it has analogue dry-thru, but I believe this is a digital effect.

You kept turning knobs I didnt hear any difference This didnt sound right at all Especially with the ridiculous price tag Sorry

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  Год назад

Yeah, tbh I found a lot of the controls a bit too subtle on this one as well.
I suppose rotary is kind of a simple effect by design, so you're never going to get a wide variety of sounds out of it.
The main feature this has over others I've tried, is the dynamics mode to control the rate with just your playing. That's pretty cool!
But yeah, personally, I'd rather have a cheap, small, 2/3 knob rotary pedal over this.

Youre very decent Appreciated your comment Ive programmed my own on a Zoom G1 On pedal Also A better pedal might be the Tonecore Line 6 Roto Machine Thanks again

      Thanks! 😊
Funny you should mention the Roto Machine...I've got a "rotary shoot-out" video coming out in a few weeks, which includes that pedal!
And yes, you're right, it's absolutely fantastic. 👍
The Nu-X Roctary is also really amazing, if you ever get chance to try it.
