Reminds me of a big bow of porridge on a cold morning. It's been such a treat getting all these extra videos from you over the last few weeks. I hope everything is wonderful down on Soap Oaks farm. xx
Love your videos. Your soaps are so rich in good natural ingredients, I really appreciate how you harvest ingredients from your farm to use in your products. Thank you Patrick for sharing.
Discovered your channel a month or two ago Patrick, and wow! Your tutorials are super informative, but more importantly, you have such a gentle and warm nature which makes your videos more than just informative. I feel like I'm settling in to a hot cup of tea by a roaring fire each time I view your videos. I'm sure you already have so many ideas to share with us, but if you ever feel so inclined, I'd love to hear you talk about what tools and equipment you use. I know other soap makers talk about their equipment, but I honestly just really enjoy listening to you, and especially now it feels like kind and gentle people are the energies we should be hearing most from. All the best to you and Soapy Oaks Farm. I'm so glad I found your channel!
Hi Jam, what a kind and supportive post, which means so much to me and I really do appreciate it. I would be happy to discuss some of the tools and equipment I use, thank you so much for the suggestion. All my best.
Hi Patrick. A beautiful natural soap. All your soaps are beautiful to use but some are simply special and this is another one of those. Big hugs and tickles to the critters. X x x
Hi Shelly Ann, I use a soap calculator like this soapcalc.net , I enter in my oils, and have it calculated the water/milk/liquid to lye ratio, though I tweak it a bit depending on the other ingredients, however this should be a good starting place for you. In this recipeI used 40% Olive Oil, 30% coconut Oil, 10% Avocado Oil, 7% shea butter, 7% cocoa butter, 7% cocoa butter, 3% mango butter, 6% castor oil. Thanks so much
Hi there and welcome it's great having you here, this recipe includes coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, shea butter, mango butter, almond oil, castor oil. Thanks so much and please have a wonderful day
Colloidal oats isn't just ground oats, that's oat flour, totally adequate for soap making. Colloidal oats are different, this subject comes up all the time in soap groups. Here is a complete description, from www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17373175 Colloidal oatmeal, developed in 1945, is produced by finely grinding the oat and boiling it to extract the colloidal material. Simply put, a colloid is a particle that is suspended in another. When added to liquid the colloidal oatmeal stay dispersed in the liquid and does not sink to the bottom. Thus making it ideal for oat baths. Your soap is lovely, inspiring me to try it myself :)
Satifying pour
