I've mained Luigi since 64....seeing how amazing he can be since smash 4 is a true reward for my character loyalty. Elegant is an inspiration to every Player 2 in the planet.
I like how this luigi actually varies his grab combo's into more air moves and luigi cyclones, something of which I don't see from most luigi players as they tend to spam 0% grab kill combo shown at the beginning of this video. Could be lucky match ups but you can't deny those combo's were sick.
I can see people watching this and go “That is insane they gotta NERF him”. And while I agree that this is insane what this player can pull off I don’t just want to see nerfs thrown around left and right just cause a character seems overpowered. People can adapt, and it still takes skill to master Luigi like that which should be properly paid off
Yes Luigi is powerful, but his one weakness is a big weakness. Recovering. Luigi's recovery has very little horizontal movement and when he's off-stage it is so easy to gimp him. and successfully gimping Luigi at least one time, will result in death. And since this game very much so rewards off-stage plays and gimps, Luigi is a very high-risk and exploitable character. So basically, he's got very high highs, but that one negative is a BIG negative. Even still I love Luigi and think he is one of the most fun characters in the game.
Yeah I completely agree and especially since we’re still in the beginning with this, even one of the commentators said he’s getting this work in before 2.0 while he can. Updates will always be coming, but everyone wants to expect a perfect fix and that’s not reality.

With the exception of possibly bowser and pirhana plant, Rosalina, all the Mario characters have some ridiculous combo ability man. Mario, Luigi, Peach/Daisy, Dr. Mario, shoot might as well throw in wario and yoshi too. They all got good combos and rack up damage quick.

Hip hops maybe, but it still so that normal grabs are a lot faster. If luigi’cyclone recovery still would work and his grab a normal grab, then i think he would be low-high/high tier.
NANI you do know that Luigi’s tether is as unpunishable as a normal grab, and has 3 times the range? Yeah, it comes out slower, but it’s a pretty much Melee Marth’s grab because of how much range it has while having so little endlag. Luigi is one of the few characters that benefits from having a tether grab.

Still though if my punish results in 20 dmg at most compared to their potential 0-death or 81 dmg combo, that can’t be acceptable.
