Bigman Ik right while everyone plays the guys with powerful strengths, annoying attacks that can just be spammed easily. ain’t nothing mr video game himself can handle
Geenobe actually this Mario is better than smash 4 Mario. His only nerf was down throw but his up throw compensate for that. His notable buffs are up air connecting better and up b killing better. His biggest weakness in this game is no more air dodging off stage which makes it a lot harder to gimp
It's hard not to see why people still main Mario. He's got a great kit, that's super fun to use. Tons of combos, solid kill confirms, and of course his *F O R W A R D A E R I A L*
Heavies I think are a big problem because he’s not that heavy, he’s easy to get launched by heavies. Swords he can fuck up easily. His comboing movesets are faster than most sword characters aerials and nairs and much easier to punish ground attacks and he can punish a lot of aerials to.
Feel like I've learned a lot from watching these plays. I've been a Mario (and Ness) main since Smash 4, but in Ultimate I know he's still got the stuff to dominate almost any matchup. And he's still my main! My Mario has won me lots of matches even in Ultimate! I'm still trying to improve in Ultimate as a whole, so thanks for sharing this. Mario's number 1!

The next fighter better not be a sword fighter or heavyweight or gunner I would really like another all around fighter that doesn’t relies on throwing or shooting things repeatedly
I main Mario, and I found it so amazing how good people are with this character. With Mario being unlocked at the beginning, people can play a high/mid tier right away.

Mario is very mid-tier. Arguably even low mid-tier because of his low frame speed and lack of range. His forward aerial and combo game say otherwise, though so it is very debateable

Mario is mid-tier. His spike game is good and he can combo, but his recovery is kinda bad and his moves are often too slow to counter swordfighters.
