You don't need to get an after market jet kits for these bikes. All that is needed is one or two small washers under each needle to raise it a little to run richer. I put after market exhaust on my VT1100 Shadow and used one washer under each needle and re-adjusted the air mixture screws after synchronizing the carbs. It runs perfect.
I use Unifoam on an glued into an old paper filter frame (Yes, I removed all the paper) It's oiled like a K&N filter but does a much better job of filtering the air and it's washable too. The reason I didn't like the K&N filters is mostly the price and the fact that doing the research, I found they do not clean the air as well as the Unifilter foam does. My midrange is just fine and it feels like it really hauls ass.
You mention unscrewing the jet by turning to the right did I miss hear what you said :? are you sure I thought it was lefty loose righty tighty or is it like Mopar and is reversed thread ?
Did you ever have any midrange misfiring or fouled plugs from running too rich? I have the same set up, K&N filter, drag pipes, stage 1 with 180 jets and needle on the 4th clip slot. My plugs are turning black from running too rich.
I just bought a 94 honda shadow vt1100 and the only issue i have is a gas leak from a gas line to the left side tha is loose (not connected to anything) if you could help i would much appreciate it.
Shoulda took out the airbox an all that. Use Vstacks instead or intake. There a lot of stuff u can remove that u don't need. Like that clip thing u were talking about at the end. An all those hoses for the air box. Trash it.

have fun - couldnt care less. if you cant do it/understand with what i showed you, i fear it will not be an easy path for you. i figured it out as i went. now in all seriousness and me putting my butthurt bullshit aside - just jet according to your pipes. it made a huge difference on this when i went to straights with the larger jet. completely different bike afterwards.

Painter D are you running a K&N? The better flowing filter will lean out midrange. At least for me it did.

What about the tuning?
Do you have to put two different size main jet for the front cylinder and the back cylinder??
Yes I did what the instructions said, I have a 2002 VT1100C2 or shadow sabre. Cobra pipes no baffles.
Take a drink at every "Umm"! I dare you to make it thru.

Not up to your normal standard. You cut/skipped all the important parts. Big raspberries
This was 10000 years ago.
