- ArcCaptain reached out to us and provided the MIG200 for review, and they asked us to share our honest opinions with our audience. #sponsored The ArcCaptain MIG 200 MultiProcess Welder is a 200A inverter welder. You can Stick weld, MIG, TIG, or use a Spool Gun. The interface is easy to use and the synergic mode keeps a lot of the confusion out of getting started. Just choose your Amperage and the ArcCaptain automatically sets the Voltage. The normal price for the MIG200 is typically $499, but the current price is less than $400. #welder #arccaptain #review

For $350 (on amazon all the time) i dont believe there's a better machine. Stick/tig/wire(w+w/o gas).. inductance control, euro connection for mig, ≈60% duty cycle, spool gun ready for aluminum. Excellent machine
best Arccaptain mig200 video on RUclips.... good job
Awesome video, thank you for giving such a great rundown on a few welding details!
Thank you for this video it was a huge help
I've welded as "Work" since I was a kid. I still weld all day every day full time for a living.
If I had it all to do over (I have spent a fortune, a literal fortune, on welding machines over the years) I would buy 2 machines & only those 2.
First would be a Yeswelder stick machine - less than 100 quid. Second would be a Hitbox flux core machine - less than 200 quid. Both run off domestic power outlets(220v), both are spectacularly reliable, dependable & powerful. Those 2 will weld 80% of what any normal welder needs to weld. The 20% they won't is aluminium & I've never cared about welding aluminium.. I could chuck the 2 of them into the footwell of a car. Go buy one of each, learn how to really use them, thank me later. Add a grinder, a cheap auto-darkening mask & off you go welding.
DC only . It welds aluminum 4043 with the mig gun , no spool gun required and it has pulse. I was very skeptical when I bought it , but am amazed how well it runs for the price and the quality of the welds it puts down. I haven't used dual shield flux cored with it. I have a Primeweld mig 285 that kicks ass with dual shield flux cored.
I think most people that buy something like this use the 110. Wish your video displayed this.
When you got the welder up to 180 amp did you check to see that it was really putting out 180 amp?? All the reviews I seen on RUclips no one checks to see if what is on the meeter is what the machine is putting out. Looks to me it was running a little cold. I really don't care if a machine only puts out 180 amp or not but the meeter should be accurate so when you go from one machine to another you don't have any problems adjusting to the new machine.
Can you describe the motion your using when welding? Are you making little circles or moving back and forth?
Great video. I have a power question; specs on the back say input on 110v is Max 40.7A and 1eff/A 25.7 A. Who the heck has a 50 amp circuit breaker on a 110v circuit? Is this even usable in North America on 110V?
Where do you get the sandpaper stick ons for the 90 degrees air tool, and the tool that sticks up in the air tool also???
Kentucky
Hi im new to welding and wondering what consumables it takes? Like the .035 wheels, tips, and such? Have you been lucky finding any?
Hi! I want to buy a Mig welder and I was looking for Arccaptain mig200 but recently I found out that someone is selling a second hand (like new) Parkside PMSG 200A1 for half the price of the Arccaptain mig200. Could you give me an advice if I should go for the Parkside (because it's less expensive) , it is good enough? Thanks
My machine didn’t come with them plastic washer and spring can I use regular washer and and spring
How do you feel this compares to the yes welder that you reviewed last year. I bought the yes welder but I still haven’t unboxed. I’ve had some serious health issues I’ve been dealing with. But I’m going to learn how to weld. No matter how long I have to wait. I just wanted your opinion on the 2 welders. I also purchased the yes welder plasma cutter. Which is also still in the box. Trust me I’m a bit discouraged but not defeated. I will eventually learn how to do both of these processes.
The 2 welders are close enough that we would need to operate them side by side in order to decide. I would definitely just keep what you have and learn from that. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues and I hope you get back up soon. Once you learn, you'll wonder why you waited so long. Thanks for watching.
Sorry to hear about your health issues. Arccaptain and Yes Welder are both good choices. Arccaptain is highly regarded for quality and beginner-friendly features. Take your time to recover and then enjoy welding with either machine. Stay positive and keep pushing forward. Best wishes to you!
@@Sova-Arccaptain Thank you so very much for the kind words. It is really appreciated. I don’t ever give up on anything. So eventually I will learn how too Weld. No matter how long it takes me. So thanks again for all the encouragement and best wishes to you and your family.
@Sova-Arccaptain is there a way to contact you ?? I assume you work with arc captain ??
@@trevorstrutt1 Yeah, here is.
if you drag or pull the mig weld like you did the weld will be colder than if you push the mig gun into the weld it will be hotter even on the same setting because your heating the metal up before you get to it. i see your right handed so you should be pushing not pulling. hope this helps.
They should have run a 220 gauge wire directly to the welder, and then used an adapter to step down to 110. It's weird that they did it the other way around. I wonder if that has something to do with you only seeing 180A.
That's exactly what they do on current models
Yep that's how my vevor model is I doubt this is really putting out 200 either it don't got a w17 torch it ain't put out 200
Looks like he was just jamming it in a 50 amp rv plug to the legs are stretched
Pretty impressive 60% duty cycle on that unit? Usually no-name machines are only good for 20% at best, not bad at all?
That is correct, it is a decent duty cycle for a cheap welder.
Yes but you need to know that the duty cycle is their to protect the machine from over heating. Probably that machine is calibrated for higher heat and that so make the machine less reliable in the long run. A Big brand mig welder last more than 20 years of abuse. That kind of false advertising is bad because it lead to put more machine in the trash rather than repair it!
Push MIG So They Bead Could Lay Flatter … Otherwise Looks Good
This can't do pulse mig or dual shield flux, correct? (newbie, so hope those questions make sense)
Our machine currently doesn't have that functionality, but we will make an effort to explore this area in the future.
@Sova-Arccaptain I was going to buy an Arccaptain until I ran across the Simder SD 4050 10 in 1 machine for $629.00. I use it daily in my shop and it has not failed me yet. Not only does it pulse but has plasma cutter also.
@@FlyinTrapezious Does it do AC & DC TIG?
Never seen a welder like that, that didn't use a pot for wire speed, and another for just amps? I'm assuming the wire speed is all electronic?
Correct, the wire speed is all electronic. In Manual mode, set your desired voltage, then set your desired Wire Feed Speed; or in Synergic mode, set your Amperage (Amps), and the voltage is automatically set. You can also trim the Volts +/-3V. Thanks for watching.
Anyone know how to swap the leads in an ArcCaptain Mig 200? Apparently the leads come from the factory wrong &, of course, this welder doesn’t have the wires easy to see or swap.
What do you mean? You just swap the middle plug on the front to either positive or negative. It's super easy. Nothing inside the machine.
r they any good never heard of it ????????????
Just ordered one of these for my dad and he is upset that the European version doesn't go down to 110v
MIG = PUSH... Very, VERY limited review despite it's plethora of other available functions. Love mine!
Thanks for watching.
Like people who buy cars and don’t even know what they are buying into. Hey, what’s this ESP button. I have no idea. Extra Sensory Perception? Or I press this button and nothing happens. Stop doing that, it might be the drink more gas button!
Stop buying stuff if you don’t know how to use it or what it is. Especially a beginner. You don’t want a lot of features on a welder. A switch and two knobs works.
I don’t care if it cost $400. When it breaks are they going to be able to send you the parts 2 years from now or even get parts. Might be worth paying double if they have customer service. Eastwood sounds like they support their products and they been around a long time. I don’t know if their welders are any good or not, but at least I’ve heard about their company and product. This other junk I never heard of.
We have a professional customer service team to help customers solve problems if encounter any machine problems
I bought one recently and I had a small problem with my tig torch and their customer service was excellent 👌
@@donnyh3497 Thank you🙂!
I was taught to push not pull on mig.
90% of the welders on Utube pull because you can see better.
Correct! MIG; you push. If it has slag, you drag (Flux core). Anyone who tells you otherwise is incorrect. You ‘can’ pull MIG, but shouldn’t.
Hey buddy you do know that when you mig weld you push your puddle not drag as the say if it has Slagle you drag
Do it really output 200 amps
Project Farm has some reviews with actual current output performance. As usual, the low buck Chinesium boxes way overpromise, and way under deliver. Boxes rated at 120A would barely maintain 80A while running. You really do get what you pay for. There are exceptions to this rule, but you can usually uncover which is which by wading though the half accurate reviews.
2 seconds in hes dragging a flat fillet T joint. mig is an acronym for "anybody can weld" maybe not everyone should.
Yes he could have did better but at least he posted a video
How is it a $400 welder it’s a few thousand down here in Australia
I just checked on Amazon and its 399.99 as of February 12, 2024 with Free delivery of a few days to your door.
Rare for a Chinese welder to be over 500 on Amazon.
It looks like a great machine but being that I do this for a living and I've seen many people try it the machine is available rather easily but being able to have the cognitive skills to do the job is a different story let alone being able to do it at home I don't recommend trying to learn it yourself not everyone is able to be an autodidact
I was hoping to see the gas set up and a little info on the shielding gas but that was skipped completely but spent 5 minutes going over useless stuff in the manual.
Where is this machine made?
Made in China
Thank you for that. I am a Patriot so I buy American when at all posable.. Now that said, I love Milwaukee tools.. But they are tested hard! I will keep on eye on this welder and see how people like it.@@Shoptoolreviews
@@sheepdoglogic you know milwaukee is made in china right 😂 🤦 God Help Him please 😂
Yes I do and they are built tough! Just because it is "built" in China does not make it bad. That said, most of the crap that comes out of China is just that, crap! @@ramonayala5796
That's what he said. Milwaukee is the exception for him
Nope, on 220, you'll only see a tad over 160 amps. Just like other similar machines, the output numbers are exaggerated.
Good to know!!!
@Steel.Canvas except it will do 200 amps on tig hence the 200 model number
That is a fantastic adapter plug to have in a household and ask your wife or your child to plug in a 110 device or kids looking to plug in something they are familiar with and wind up connection to a 220V outlet. Any problems here? Why is this Chinese garbage being sold in our country?
Why are you YELLING????
Arccaptain is deceiving customers by over rating amp output. A youtuber "bigtb1717" tests welder output using an amp clamp and the 200 amp Arccaptain maxes out at 160 amps and their 160 amp welder maxes out at 125 amps. Here's a link to his video.

No pulse, im out
The power cord alone (220 adapter for dedicated 110 input cord) is a sign that this thing is a POS.
Pos?
