Hi! I just got the chance to sit and watch your video while I do more hand quilting. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
Becky! So glad you and Keith are back home safely!! Love your videos!! And I LOVE your shirt! How sweet is that?😘 You give us such great info on quilting, embroidery and all of it! Just so grateful you online on RUclips and FB and your blog! Thankful for that!!
As I don’t have a Brother, I’m hoping you’ll still give directions for the Scan N Cut for those of us who have different machines. I appreciate all you’ve done to help others.
The SNC can be used with all different types of machines. Just use the .pes format from your laptop to the SNC to cut out the shape. It will be no different in size than the .jef or .art or any other machine file type. Use the .pes to cut your shape. OR...use Embrilliance to create an svg file and upload that to the Brother Canvas and then send it back down to the SNC. I'll discuss this in a video. Great topic!
Glad your home becky, it means only one thing, more videos hehe, omg you got a new scan n cut, i have the sdx2200D here in the uk, i dont know what its called in the usa lol ..... becky you must be rich hehe, 2 houses ...an RV ... brother luminare .... a multi needle lol i wish haha
Wow five away from home. I couldn’t do that, too much of a homebody. I went to Phoenix for a week and thought I was gone too long.🙃 Your videos from your trip were great. I love the young lady who is married to coast guard serviceman, so creative and energetic. Glad you arrived home and sound. Looking forward to future videos. Now I am going to sew something!😜😆
Yes ma'am! This will definitely get rid of the pesky problem of svg files from a company that don't fit. You have to +2 on the SNC to get them to fit on Kimberbell designs (for some unknown reason). And SweetPea? Forget it. Their svg files were made on another planet or something. Now, the cut file will be made from the placement line so they "should" fit exactly!
Just got back to Alaska from Texas a few days ago. Wow, was not prepared for the heat. So thankful for missing all the snow we got here in AK so guess I can take the heat. Love all your videos. Have some quilts to do. Have juju’s quilting designs and will attempting to do my first quilt. So, will be backtracking to your instruction video. Glad your back safe and thanks for your videos.
I just want to thank you and keith for haveing me as a 5th wheel on your vacation( (You, Keith, the two dogs amd ME) LOL. I had a wonderful time with you. Glade you had a safe and happy trip. I just ordered the George ruler. Thanks for the heads up for letting us know it is back
Welcome home! Can't wait to see what projects you start up. I have a request. Can you video how you attach together pieces of no show mesh? I tried a piece and it seemed bulky in the middle. I was afraid the needle would get caught in it.
I simply lay them over one another by about an inch - no fold or anything, no 'right sides together'. Just overlap by 1 inch and then sew a large zig zag stich (about 4.5 or 5) down the center of the overlap. This provides the least bulk and allows for some stretch movement in the seam if needed by the next hooping if you have a tight satin stitch in your embroidery. You only have a 1" section now that has two pieces that overlap each other. It works great!
Hi Becky, Loved all of trip videos, so fun! I am anxious to see your SDX325 video also. I ran out to buy one but am now hearing that it may not be compatible with my Solaris. Please let all of us Baby Lock users know for sure. I use Designs by JuJu patterns and it would be so helpful. I haven’t tried to use it yet as I may need to return it, if it’s not compatible. All of the past scan n cut machines have been compatible so just thought this one would work also. Hope you can clarify this for us. Thanks.
I'm not sure on the Solaris. The ability for the SNC to talk to the XP machines is though an interface called My Connection. The My Connection icons are available on both the SNC and the embroidery machines. Mine is on page 7 of my Luminaire settings and there's a large button for My Connection. However, if you don't see it, that doesn't mean you still can't use the SNC machine. You just have to take another step to get the placement line to the SNC via USB because the SNC still reads the .pes file that the Solaris uses. It's just that the wireless capability isn't there. Please verify in your Solaris settings. Let me know!
Welcome home! I love using the my connection feature of my Scan N Cut 330D with my Luminaire 2, it's awesome, especially with embroidery designs that don't come with SVG files - works flawlessly!! You're going to love it! Again, welcome home! Happy sewing!
Can't wait to see a video on sending a file from the Luminaire to the SNC to create a cut file!! I bought my SNC to cut out purse patterns. I got the long scanning mat so I can scan the patterns into the SNC and cut them out. It will be much more accurate than I could ever cut them! Still have lots to learn about the SNC (and the Luminaire for that matter)! I really enjoy your videos! I just ordered the Trimmer by George 3. I have the original Trimmer (got it in 2012) and the edge is a little bent and badly scarred from using the smaller rotary cutter. Becky, your videos are so helpful and entertaining. I learn so much from you! You are the reason I bought a SNC in the first place!
Glad you're back home safe and sound. I live in Hudson, FL. It's soooo nice to get away. I've been to Bold Notions, super place! I bought the 325 scan n cut a few months ago, cant wait to see what you make with it.
The machine and your name is awesome, love it. Glad you two are home, just want you to know how much I enjoyed traveling by U Tube with you. Have a good week playing catch up, lol Green Bananas.
I bought that scan n cut for my self last Christmas, still learning to use it. I am sure I am not using all it can do yet. Have fun look forward to see what you learn.
I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU AND KEITH MADE IT HOME SAFE AND SOUND. I ENJOYED ALL YOUR VIDEOS THAT YOU DID WHILE YOU WERE GONE. I GOT PAT SLOAN'S BOOK YESTERDAY.
I really enjoyed my virtual vacation. It's nice to go but nice to be back home again. I have a Solaris so don't have My Connection option, but I was watching a video of someone using the XP2 and Scan n Cut and she said to be sure that the piece you send has the scissor icon on it. That must indicate it's an applique piece so it'll cut. I'm sure you'll be a wiz in no time. Looking forward to your haul.
Welcome Back!!! Happy to see you again. You are going to LOVE the SNC 325. I have the 330D and LOVE it. I am looking forward to the video's you will do for it because I have not figured out a lot yet, but it is an awesome machine. The sign on the wall is petty awesome.
I did not use my channel locks while putting on the binding. In a perfect world, the answer would be 'Yes!" But we all know quilting is not a perfect world. :)

Being in the road is great but so is pulling into your own driveway. By the looks of it, your haul video should be at least an hour long! Ha! Some many possibilities for future tutorials…. I’ll bet your mind is spinning. I wonder if Keith picked up a project or two while on the road???

Becky you can transfer your cut file from canvas to your 325 and it will also go to the 650 after you create in embrilliance.

That is awesome! Thanks for letting me know!
Yes you can send a svg file from brother to your scan and cut. … 😊 ask me how I know … enjoy
when brother wanted to charge me extra for my embroidery machine to connect wirelessly I decided to look into other companies
I don't think they do that any longer.

I believe that if you buy the upgrade from your Babylock dealer your Solaris will become wireless enabled. Then you can use the Scan n Cut Becky has.
That's a great tip Cheryl. I check it out. Thank you!
Welcome Back!!! Happy to see you again. You are going to LOVE the SNC 325. I have the 330D and LOVE it. I am looking forward to the video's you will do for it because I have not figured out a lot yet, but it is an awesome machine. The sign on the wall is petty awesome.

@@PowerToolsWithThread I look forward to it!!!

How can we purchase that cute t-shirt. I checked the website for the shop but did not see it. Thanks. Glad you’re home.
Maybe they will order more and get them back in stock!
@@PowerToolsWithThread They actually replied and said to call them tomorrow. Thank you!
Glad y'all made it home safe and sound. What a trip! Catching up now will be a chore, but I know it all was worth it! Stay cool!
Sewing on binding are you able to use your vertical/horizontal locks? I have tried them yet.
I did not use my channel locks while putting on the binding. In a perfect world, the answer would be 'Yes!" But we all know quilting is not a perfect world. :)
I’m so happy you got the new scan n cut! I’ve been trying to decide if it is worth upgrading and look forward to your opinion!

Hi Becky! Wow on the road for 5 weeks?! That had to be exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing what all you bought. Take some time for yourself to relax and breathe. I'll be looking forward to finding the name of the company that made your template. ~~ Hugs, Lynne
It's called gifthomemetal.com
curious what the blue pool stuff is????????
Does the scan and cut work with a babylock solaris2?
Yes! The SNC reads .pes files which is the file type used by Baby Lock machines. :)
Being in the road is great but so is pulling into your own driveway. By the looks of it, your haul video should be at least an hour long! Ha! Some many possibilities for future tutorials…. I’ll bet your mind is spinning. I wonder if Keith picked up a project or two while on the road???

I got it at Inspire! Quilting in FL.
Hey Becky, I'm returning your reply. I don't know the procedure for a telegram back to you. Love your videos
