    Hi all
    I love watching this guy, he’s helped me a lot….manages to dumb it down, even for me 😁
    I have a question….I have watched plasterers, & Mr Gray here. When applying your plaster, or flattening off, I notice you sweep back & too with your trowel. Do you lift off, when coming back, or just tilt the trowel?
    I have tried tilting, & I end up getting stuck to the wall…maybe it’s just my technique, so I lift off, & things don’t seem to flow nicely.
    Thanks in advance

      Thank you mate! Really appreciate that. It's easier if you lift the trowel off if you're starting out. It's quite hard to work up and down in one motion so just lift the trowel from the wall for now...it's a lot easier that way! Hope this helps and thank you for watching.

    Hi a couple of Q's - why did you you mix a fresh batch for the second coat - was it because it was going off in the bucket or because you had used it all or most of it? Also how important is the trowel - I have an old clean steel plastering trowel and aluminium hawk - is it going to matter that much if it isn't the latest and greatest trowel in the shop? Thanks great content.

    • @ACAIDC
      @ACAIDC Год назад +2

      (1) You only have a small amount of time to work with the plaster before it goes off. So it's important to mix a new batch of plaster for each coat. (2) The trowel and hawk always depends on the plasterer. If you find the trowel comfortable to use then you shouldn't have a problem. The only difference between cheap and expensive trowels is how long they last. If you're a DIYer then there's no need to buy the most expensive tools in the shop.
