I am currently working on another analysis video and hope that releases soon enough. Take care! 5/11/20: Holy smokes, thank you all for the absolute overwhelming support on this video! This is absolutely crazy to me and I can't believe its all real :). And I want to address some things about the video, and I'll try to keep it brief but it will be still long. So to start with positives, first, I read all of the comments on this video and they are a joy to read. Positive or not, they all make me a better person in the end, now about the negative comments. I am a huge supporter of constructive criticism, as nothing in this world would ever improve without it. And any criticism I have on this video I greatly appreciate, as the flaws in this video as pointed out by some of you guys, I have fixed up and my videos going further are now getting even better :). So thank you. Now I am going to address some issues or sugestions people have with the video. You said "first-person shooters" when GW1 and GW2 and BFN are 3rd person shooters: Yea I can't defend that, just an error of mine, sorry. You should have done more retakes: This is the biggest piece of advice I have taken to heart, as this is another one that I can't quite defend, because yea, it could be better. This was my first video in this style and I put so much time into the editing when I really should have had a healthier balance in the writing and recording side of things, so yea, you guys are right, though watching my new video's you'll know I fixed that :). Have you heard of Eclise?: Yes I have! I am an avid supporter of the project, I have not quite tried it out yet, because of time and personal life, however, due to the overwhelming support of this video and the comments suggesting it, it might become its own video. The reuse of zombies, other games have reused zombies, so how is it lazy in this case: Ah yes, a big debate, I'll try to keep it short. PVZ 3 does not bring enough new ideas to the table to where an absolute overabundance of reused zombies seems very jarring to me. Yea PVZ 2 had Newspaper, Football, and Balloon, but Modern day was a homage to the first game, as proved by the zombies, background, and music. And even PVZ heroes had plenty of original plant and zombies to where the older plants and zombies felt cool and special to be included. But PVZ 3 (especially the zombies) Just have so many reused zombies, and even if they are "new" they are just a re-skin of an imp. Think of the first game where we had such unique zombies like ladder zombie and the basketball zombie, they did not have the basic zombie template and has a unique mechanic while having a unique look. Just because you don't like the art style, does not mean its bad: Uh yeah, your right. I should have made this clear in the video, but just because the art style is bad, does not mean the game is bad. A game at its fundamental core should be fun (Which PVZ 3 fails at by the way) And an art style is simply a layer to the overall package. I am a huge believer that console specs don't matter, it's software. And even though I believe this, I can still judge and rate how the game looks just because it is an aspect of the game. People bash on Mass Effect Andromeda for the poor visuals and lack of expectations, and granite there are a lot of other problems with that game, but how a game looks does affect people's opinion about it. (Sadly in some cases) You can't compare it to clash royale, just because it's similar does not inherently make it bad: Alright, here's the final one for now. As I briefly touched on in the video, PVZ 3 does not have really an identity. It's ok to use ideas from other games, it's encouraged by many to make those ideas bigger and better. But when a quality franchise like Plants Vs. Zombies compile a Hodgepodge of ideas that range from the menus and overall gameplay of Clash Royal, to using a battle pass, to using Angry Birds' 2 very, very similar structure, it just seems very unoriginal. It's ok to be inspired by other things, heck PVZ was inspired by A. Magic the Gathering and B. The tower defense genre. however, in addition to the heavy use of zombie reusing, PVZ 3 does not stand out as a quality unique product. As I said, it melds together into the other mobile games, they are one in the same. People can use the comparison like how Fortnite and Apex are the same, or even Mario and Sonic, both those examples both use the same game-like structure, the difference, however, is that Mario and Sonic have distanced themselves and have become unique properties within the gaming world. Sure, Fortnite and Apex are successful and popular, but does that validate them from being so similar to each other and almost uninspired? Wii Play was both successful and popular, but does that make it any good? No. (except the tank game of course) But success and popularity does not justify that it's ok. Those are the points I wanted to quickly make, you can dissect my words all you want, I tried to make it as brief as possible, but I just wanted to clear up some common comments. I am totally ok if you don't agree with me, everyone has the right to have their own opinion. These are just my counterpoints to some comments people have had. This video is not perfect, however, no video will ever be. . I can't reply to every comment, and I don't want to start an argument or anything. The comments are coming in so fast I can't keep up XD. I just wanted to address most things in one swoop, and if you don't have any problems with the video, then great! Like I said at the end, and earlier in this comment, I want this game to succeed, and would truly be sad if this game tanked and plummeted into obscurity. I want the developers to fix their mistakes, to make a quality product, is that possible at the stage they are in? Who knows. The fundamental goal of a game is to be fun. I just feel as though the mechanics are not interesting enough for me to commit to the game for a long period of time, they feel shallow and lack depth. Plants versus Zombies 2: Eclise is better than vanila. It is free, and free is great price! But an advice: don't start and S level before going to bed. Because it is addictive.
Lolz XL As someone who’s been playing PvZ since Kindergarten, I have one phrase that summarizes how I feel about PvZ3 “Look at how they massacred my boy”
PvZ1: The Original everyone love PvZ2: Playable and an upgrade to the original, but a little littered with microtransactions. PvZ3: cloned garbage of garbage
PvZ2 was almost perfect up until the “final” modern day world, which was a satisfying conclusion. Every update from there just went downhill until the hill got so steep and the game plummeted into literal dogshit... ruined by greed.
When EA bought popcap they fired most of the original team including the lead developer, George Fan. Also, the composer for the music in pvz1, Laura Shigihara, wrote the theme for ancient Egypt in pvz2, but after George got fired she quit.
Yeah George fry if i remeber his name right and the 2 people with him who made the original game was fired basically for not making it pay 2 win he was openly against him hes a legend you can look it up. EA suck and killed PvZ :(
Nick Z Games and the Chinese pvz2 have more original content and less microtransactions than the original.(the only plant that you HAVE to pay to get is cherry bomb,which I think is just that buying anything will give it to the player.all of the other plants are obtainable with pieces,and they have a much better leveling system.)
@@NickZGames I do have to say though, it's still grindy as hell. Like it doesn't FORCE you to buy plants, but you might as well, because some of them can take actual years to get. I've played it once, got to Far Far Future, and ditched it there because the leveling of plants started to become a requirement there. They do have some really creative plants and worlds though.
This is genuinely saddening. The original plants vs zombie was like my entire childhood. It was one of my most favorite games of all time and i could play it any day of the week still today. To see a downfall like this is quite heartbreaking and just disappointing. It proves corporates don't give a shit about the people and just are chasing after what is the most profitable without caring about any other individuals.
I feel like Pop Cap is slowly getting replaced by EA employees. Everything that made the original game special is just slowly getting replaced by soulless and greedy bullshit. Fan-games and mods of the games are just way better.

Honestly, I think people bash Pvz2 a little too much, ignoring the micro transactions and battles, it’s pretty good, it adds plenty of new plants and at least tries to keep things interesting with stage gimmicks and different zombies while also having a really catchy soundtrack. Big wave beach can fuck right off though.
This just hurts my heart, I loved PvZ as a franchise, and even bought that "government survival book", comics and all. Yes, it's now leaned towards a children game, but I missed it's darker atmosphere. It was comical, but zombies were trying to eat your brains after all, and the art reflected it. Now it has this overly cartoony art style for some reason. Oh, and the fact that you can't even plant sunflowers is just sad.
I mean, pvz was always comical. In the first game the zombies would constantly send you silly letters and all that. Then when theyre defeated they just all stop fighting and make a music video with the plants
@@omegamyee5592 The best part was when Zomboss himself send you a letter, he threaten you, and you feel surprised, it's no longer a goofy badly written ruse, and it gave you the impression that he was ready for what appeared to be your last battle. Even in PVZ2, Zomboss started to make you question yourself about your decision of protecting your brain, and in modern days, he said that disrupting the time was probably too much for the taco you tried so bad to recover.

I like how their reason for changing the artstyle is more detail, but PVZ2 has generally better detail and is VASTLY more visually appealing. PVZ3's models are just more stiff compared to the PVZ2 sprites.

@@drspinfire1680 actualy, Even now pvsz2 You can still play and have fun, even with these annoying mechanics. And the "eclipse" is kind of like fixing the balance in the direction of fascinating complexity. (I didn't play, I can't say for sure).
That's what CnC fans said and now EA release the remaster version of the classic. Maybe they will do the same with pvz? Even if pvz isnt that old to warrant a good remaster.
Heroes is different but in a good way, The Shooters are unique, and I had the chance to play PvZ 2 WAY before the level system and stuff. But this game.... It's clear they ran out of ideas

Nowadays, Popcap is trying to change the formula of the PvZ series (Removing Lawnmowers and making Sunflowers implantable etc) as an attempt to adapt to the Mobile Gaming Trend for example Plant Upgrade System, Gachas (Loot Pinatas), Life Systems (Keys used to play Devour Tower), Arenas (Very common in Mobile Games) and changing the role of Sunflower from making her implantable to a classic Clash Royale elixir system.
Honestly they should've just added like 100 more levels to the original PvZ or something because that honestly sounds like more fun than the off brand Voodoo copy of PvZ that I saw in this video lol

Implementing a level creator and the ability to play online levels and even versus mode would make PvZ1 explode in popularity again rather than online Battle Royale. Even as paid DLC.
Well, looks like Popcap knows what they're doing now. Hopefully. Artsyle is 2d again, game mechanics are better aka closer to the originals and they're ACTUALLY listening to community feedback(they have feedback surveys at the end of the reworked pvz3 beta). Really hope it's not a microtransaction mess like how pvz2 was.

I wouldn't call it exactly professional editing but this is WILDLY SUPERIOR than the other videos with the app. My only nitpick is that the background music is too loud.
I feel like instead of the classic “place plants to defend” they went for the “build up your army overtime to eventually try a level you’ll lose anyway so you’ll buy our stuff.” It seems to be less of the original game and more of a “nostalgic” cash grab.

@@Khaled.Abbara im interested too, i would like to see more of a dlc to orginal pvz where you have your Old plants from pvz 1 in the same art style, but with more plants, more ways to play, balance changes and balanced multiplayer which i want to be Just for gotten orginal vs Mode where one side picks zombies and one plants. They did it in pvz heroes right, so i guess it wouldn't be that much of a problem for EA and with inspiration easier for fans

One of the most iconic parts of the original game was the sunflower (it even had an entire song) and they just decided to yeet it out of the third game. Smart ea, smart.
unpopular opinion: killing sun producing plants was a good idea because you usually just either plant a column or two or spam them, they didn't add much at all except some annoyance and the fact they were iconic. I am ok with plants that also give sun on top of other features like toadstool, but purely sun producing plants are kinda lame.
@@InsertFunnyThingHere personally I disagree they weren't just for spamming, you can use them as a shield for other plants to stall zombies that are breaking your defense, or you can put them at a safe spot then use insta kill to kill those zombies, You can also spam them like you said, but to do that you will sacrifice early game defense and probably lose a few lawnmowers for late game attackers and if something goes wrong you lose, they offer a lot of strategy for different people
@@squiggles9612 probably because BTD6 is incredibly polished. I can't even comprehend how they pulled off the big jump in graphics from 5 to 6. PvZ 3 is not that polished though. It's still not bad, but not that good either.
When PvZ was released, it was a legendary game. A little while later, PvZ2 entered its softlaunch, and it was an amazing game, with a lot of replayability (thanks, in large part, to the star system), a huge minimap, music rivaling the first game, and gameplay as fun as the first game. Even though there were a few micro transactions, it was a great game. Then, in the official release, they removed the minimap and star system (probably because it was too much effort to keep designing minimaps for each world. God forbid EA, a AAA studio, put work into their game) and kept adding premium content, but they kept adding new content for F2P players, and up until Modern Day was implemented, it was a great game... later, they added seed packets, arena, and just way too many premium plants, making it thoroughly P2W and just an ok game. Now, in the softlaunch of PvZ3, it’s super grindy, looks like crap, and makes you either wait or watch ads to play the game, making it a thoroughly mediocre game... the slow descent of this series’s quality is painful to look at
It’s hard to look at the sequels as a hardcore fan, I just wish that PopCap didn’t have that deal with EA back then. We would’ve had a greater franchise that what the franchise is now. It’s pretty sad.

they make you pay for the chomper... I think that is the 4th most common plant in pvz whenever someone is talking about it. You can't have pvz without the comper... In garden warfare it is kind of hard to play as him, having that chew time(but this is fine!).

Tbh I’ve played the game for a long time and the premium plants didn’t make you win. However they should’ve made them all for gems with the option to buy it with money.
This is honestly really impressive considering the editing software. I love the cuts, they usually made me chuckle. The only thing I would say is maybe look over your script a little more before making a final take of your voice, it feels like there's a lot of stuttering and not being sure what tone your voice should have. Overall though I freaking love this, definitely worth a sub.
@@adelaida5019 Also they should have made a final world with a proper ending to it and include the Zombot from the first game. Remove Penny's Pursuit & Arena. And make the leveling up system much better
I mean with no PopCap we could at least get the chance to not see what they have turned into like the famous saying you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Then we might've gotten PVZ2 on the 3ds liek we did the first game on DS. I've been trying my dammed to get Golden trophy on ym DS copy, I love it so much. The slightly pixelated music, the sprites in teh ds game, while not as high quality of the PC release, ah it tugs my heartstrings so much I love it. I never slapped tehg ame in my 3DS or 2DS unless someone else wanted to do the multiplayer with me, I always use my DS Lite for the extra c r i s p y enjoyment.
Other games have done it but their all literal ripoff with no changes other than art style and horrible-ness. PvZ on the other hand is its own thing and copying clash Royale is just bad for the game
I always looked at the PvZ 2 artstyle as kind of... alien. It looks awesome, but some things are even more cursed in the PvZ 2 artstyle than in the PvZ 1 artstyle. *This point of view changed when I first set my eyes on this truly horrifying abomination of a mobile game called Plants vs. Zombies 3.*
why do you have to say "I was today years old when" instead of just saying "I've never heard of" it would be so much better but you and many others decide to take the "RELATABLE" route by saying "I was today years old when" or saying "who else". Speak for yourself and don't try to make the whole world "RELATE" to you.

Coming back to this video, at least they reworked it a bit it's back to landscape mode and we now use actual sunflowers rather than generator sun, though the interesting decision is how they made this game more of a puzzle type like Candy Crush you have a brain bar where every time you lose or quit you lose em and it recharges, you can't play once you reach zero and you are given random plants, it's like adventure mode 2 in PVZ1 but instead Dave picks your whole team of plants.
@@parkerf6649 yea but even then it had too many micro-transactions. like some of the plants was about a few bucks, which isn't a lot but all the plants were free in the original game.
E.A takes perfectly good games and completely ruins them with micro transactions. Then they rush them to make as many sequels as possible no matter the quality, effectively destroying a game series.
I’ll be honest, the spirit of what makes the PvZ series so enjoyable isn’t present anymore in recent games. PvZ 2 still had it when it released, but after Power Plants (the level-up system), it lost that. They made a level-up system that valued payment over gameplay, which is a huge crime. And PvZ 3 looks so horribly made that the heart and soul of PvZ never took root.
@@kirbooi4146 yeah except for the mobile one where you have to pay ingame money to unlock some minigame and you can litterally buy ingame money with real money.
Power Plants luckily came after the worlds though, so all levels are still enjoyable with level 1 plants. Arena doesn't exist, it's a figment of your imagination.
It’s been 1 year, the game isn’t out but they actually changed EVERYTHING in the game from vertical view to horizontal view from 2d art to 3D art as well, and I’m pretty sure that they changed the entire menu as well, this game looks promising now! The only thing that I saw from the demo that I didnt like is that cherry bomb, jalapeño and the new plant chili pepper (I think? It’s just a cold vertical jalapeño) Are all instant plants that you can only use once as power ups, I would change that you can use those instant plants with your sun count, but for now it actually looks like they are listening to us finally, also sunflower is now a playable plant, so I’m glad they rebutchered the sunflower too
I don't know, the new version reeks of "oh shit they hated it, quick, damage control", it feels too safe, too samey, extremely unfinished and sets some quite scary precedents... I don't have my hopes up for it
@Zábuki yeah but think of how much money you get from EA, its a huge company. They could've rejected and made better games, but EA could also use their fuckin brains and make even half decent games
Doesn't really make sense, it still appears in game anyway. They wouldn't need to remove sunflower, one of the game's iconic characters, because some person left. That's like saying they would need to remove Mario from Mario because Shigeru Miyamoto quit Nintendo.
I wonder what George Fan, the creator of the franchise, would think of this. This is quite sad. Also, when I saw the changed-up artstyle as well as them completely changing the iconic PvZ logo to something much more vague, less appealing, less iconic, and much more knockoff-esque, I was really triggered. One thing I loved about PvZ2 is how the artstyle WASN'T drastically changed up, it was basically the artstyle of the original game, only much much better and higher resolution. It felt like an evolution of the original game's look, not a complete let's-throw-it-all-out-the-window. Like, PvZ2 was a gorgeous game.
I agree with you. I dont really know what EA is doing. They are turning this masterpiece of a title into a total mess. The games that i enjoyed were PvZ and Garden Warfare. I played PvZ2 but deleted itt 1 week after installing it. I cant say anything to the other games, I didnt play PvZGW2 Or BfV. Come on EA, do something because this isnt right.
@@gerison7868 Yeah. There is a bit of hope EA will improve given Jedi Fallen Order SOMEHOW existing, but that is probably just a one-time miracle and EA hasn't really changed, based on this.
the garden warfare series has the style down to a science, at first i didn’t like it much but as i got used to it, it just looked way better but with battle for neighborville and pvz3 i don’t know what the hell they’re doing to the franchise i grew up with, its honestly depressing

Have you heard of Eclise?: Yes I have! I am an avid supporter of the project, I have not quite tried it out yet, because of time and personal life, however, due to the overwhelming support of this video and the comments suggesting it, it might become its own video.
The reuse of zombies, other games have reused zombies, so how is it lazy in this case: Ah yes, a big debate, I'll try to keep it short. PVZ 3 does not bring enough new ideas to the table to where an absolute overabundance of reused zombies seems very jarring to me. Yea PVZ 2 had Newspaper, Football, and Balloon, but Modern day was a homage to the first game, as proved by the zombies, background, and music. And even PVZ heroes had plenty of original plant and zombies to where the older plants and zombies felt cool and special to be included. But PVZ 3 (especially the zombies) Just have so many reused zombies, and even if they are "new" they are just a re-skin of an imp. Think of the first game where we had such unique zombies like ladder zombie and the basketball zombie, they did not have the basic zombie template and has a unique mechanic while having a unique look.
Just because you don't like the art style, does not mean its bad: Uh yeah, your right. I should have made this clear in the video, but just because the art style is bad, does not mean the game is bad. A game at its fundamental core should be fun (Which PVZ 3 fails at by the way) And an art style is simply a layer to the overall package. I am a huge believer that console specs don't matter, it's software. And even though I believe this, I can still judge and rate how the game looks just because it is an aspect of the game. People bash on Mass Effect Andromeda for the poor visuals and lack of expectations, and granite there are a lot of other problems with that game, but how a game looks does affect people's opinion about it. (Sadly in some cases)
You can't compare it to clash royale, just because it's similar does not inherently make it bad: Alright, here's the final one for now. As I briefly touched on in the video, PVZ 3 does not have really an identity. It's ok to use ideas from other games, it's encouraged by many to make those ideas bigger and better. But when a quality franchise like Plants Vs. Zombies compile a Hodgepodge of ideas that range from the menus and overall gameplay of Clash Royal, to using a battle pass, to using Angry Birds' 2 very, very similar structure, it just seems very unoriginal. It's ok to be inspired by other things, heck PVZ was inspired by A. Magic the Gathering and B. The tower defense genre. however, in addition to the heavy use of zombie reusing, PVZ 3 does not stand out as a quality unique product. As I said, it melds together into the other mobile games, they are one in the same. People can use the comparison like how Fortnite and Apex are the same, or even Mario and Sonic, both those examples both use the same game-like structure, the difference, however, is that Mario and Sonic have distanced themselves and have become unique properties within the gaming world. Sure, Fortnite and Apex are successful and popular, but does that validate them from being so similar to each other and almost uninspired? Wii Play was both successful and popular, but does that make it any good? No. (except the tank game of course) But success and popularity does not justify that it's ok.
Those are the points I wanted to quickly make, you can dissect my words all you want, I tried to make it as brief as possible, but I just wanted to clear up some common comments. I am totally ok if you don't agree with me, everyone has the right to have their own opinion. These are just my counterpoints to some comments people have had. This video is not perfect, however, no video will ever be. . I can't reply to every comment, and I don't want to start an argument or anything. The comments are coming in so fast I can't keep up XD. I just wanted to address most things in one swoop, and if you don't have any problems with the video, then great!
Like I said at the end, and earlier in this comment, I want this game to succeed, and would truly be sad if this game tanked and plummeted into obscurity. I want the developers to fix their mistakes, to make a quality product, is that possible at the stage they are in? Who knows. The fundamental goal of a game is to be fun. I just feel as though the mechanics are not interesting enough for me to commit to the game for a long period of time, they feel shallow and lack depth. I once again thank everyone who has watched this video. You are what make this community :).

Nick Z Games and the Chinese pvz2 have more original content and less microtransactions than the original.(the only plant that you HAVE to pay to get is cherry bomb,which I think is just that buying anything will give it to the player.all of the other plants are obtainable with pieces,and they have a much better leveling system.)

@@NickZGames I do have to say though, it's still grindy as hell. Like it doesn't FORCE you to buy plants, but you might as well, because some of them can take actual years to get. I've played it once, got to Far Far Future, and ditched it there because the leveling of plants started to become a requirement there.

This is genuinely saddening. The original plants vs zombie was like my entire childhood. It was one of my most favorite games of all time and i could play it any day of the week still today. To see a downfall like this is quite heartbreaking and just disappointing. Honestly, I think people bash Pvz2 a little too much, ignoring the micro transactions and battles, it’s pretty good, it adds plenty of new plants and at least tries to keep things interesting with stage gimmicks and different zombies while also having a really catchy soundtrack.

This just hurts my heart, I loved PvZ as a franchise, and even bought that "government survival book", comics and all. Yes, it's now leaned towards a children game, but I missed it's darker atmosphere. It was comical, but zombies were trying to eat your brains after all, and the art reflected it. Now it has this overly cartoony art style for some reason. Oh, and the fact that you can't even plant sunflowers is just sad.
I mean, pvz was always comical. In the first game the zombies would constantly send you silly letters and all that. Then when theyre defeated they just all stop fighting and make a music video with the plants

Nowadays, Popcap is trying to change the formula of the PvZ series (Removing Lawnmowers and making Sunflowers implantable etc) as an attempt to adapt to the Mobile Gaming Trend for example Plant Upgrade System, Gachas (Loot Pinatas), Life Systems (Keys used to play Devour Tower), Arenas (Very common in Mobile Games) and changing the role of Sunflower from making her implantable to a classic Clash Royale elixir system.
Sounds more like EA's doing than Popcap.

I feel like instead of the classic “place plants to defend” they went for the “build up your army overtime to eventually try a level you’ll lose anyway so you’ll buy our stuff.” It seems to be less of the original game and more of a “nostalgic” cash grab.

unpopular opinion: killing sun producing plants was a good idea because you usually just either plant a column or two or spam them, they didn't add much at all except some annoyance and the fact they were iconic. I am ok with plants that also give sun on top of other features like toadstool, but purely sun producing plants are kinda lame.
@@InsertFunnyThingHere personally I disagree they weren't just for spamming, you can use them as a shield for other plants to stall zombies that are breaking your defense, or you can put them at a safe spot then use insta kill to kill those zombies,
You can also spam them like you said, but to do that you will sacrifice early game defense and probably lose a few lawnmowers for late game attackers and if something goes wrong you lose, they offer a lot of strategy for different people

I have no idea how this specific video managed to hit the algorithm but I’m not complaining since I love this guy’s channel
When PvZ was released, it was a legendary game. A little while later, PvZ2 entered its softlaunch, and it was an amazing game, with a lot of replayability (thanks, in large part, to the star system), a huge minimap, music rivaling the first game, and gameplay as fun as the first game. Even though there were a few micro transactions, it was a great game. Then, in the official release, they removed the minimap and star system (probably because it was too much effort to keep designing minimaps for each world. God forbid EA, a AAA studio, put work into their game) and kept adding premium content, but they kept adding new content for F2P players, and up until Modern Day was implemented, it was a great game... later, they added seed packets, arena, and just way too many premium plants, making it thoroughly P2W and just an ok game. Now, in the softlaunch of PvZ3, it’s super grindy, looks like crap, and makes you either wait or watch ads to play the game, making it a thoroughly mediocre game... the slow descent of this series’s quality is painful to look at
The 3 shooters almost followed in the exact footsteps the tower defense games did, except that neighborville feels empty instead of betrayed
It’s hard to look at the sequels as a hardcore fan, I just wish that PopCap didn’t have that deal with EA back then. We would’ve had a greater franchise that what the franchise is now. It’s pretty sad.
pvz2 was great up til the point they implementes the leveling system, the arena and penny's pursuit.
The Power Plants update was the update that started this game’s slow descent into madness.

they make you pay for the chomper... I think that is the 4th most common plant in pvz whenever someone is talking about it. You can't have pvz without the comper... In garden warfare it is kind of hard to play as him, having that chew time(but this is fine!).

Tbh I’ve played the game for a long time and the premium plants didn’t make you win. However they should’ve made them all for gems with the option to buy it with money.
This is honestly really impressive considering the editing software. I love the cuts, they usually made me chuckle. The only thing I would say is maybe look over your script a little more before making a final take of your voice, it feels like there's a lot of stuttering and not being sure what tone your voice should have. Overall though I freaking love this, definitely worth a sub.
I think the OG PopCap team should make a new game independent of EA.
Or better yet, an independent company.

The slightly pixelated music, the sprites in teh ds game, while not as high quality of the PC release, ah it tugs my heartstrings so much I love it. I never slapped tehg ame in my 3DS or 2DS unless someone else wanted to do the multiplayer with me, I always use my DS Lite for the extra c r i s p y enjoyment.

Coming back to this video, at least they reworked it a bit it's back to landscape mode and we now use actual sunflowers rather than generator sun, though the interesting decision is how they made this game more of a puzzle type like Candy Crush you have a brain bar where every time you lose or quit you lose em and it recharges, you can't play once you reach zero and you are given random plants, it's like adventure mode 2 in PVZ1 but instead Dave picks your whole team of plants.

I’ll be honest, the spirit of what makes the PvZ series so enjoyable isn’t present anymore in recent games.
PvZ 2 still had it when it released, but after Power Plants (the level-up system), it lost that. They made a level-up system that valued payment over gameplay, which is a huge crime.
And PvZ 3 looks so horribly made that the heart and soul of PvZ never took root.
We can still go back to the original one

Power Plants luckily came after the worlds though, so all levels are still enjoyable with level 1 plants. Arena doesn't exist, it's a figment of your imagination.
It’s been 1 year, the game isn’t out but they actually changed EVERYTHING in the game from vertical view to horizontal view from 2d art to 3D art as well, and I’m pretty sure that they changed the entire menu as well, this game looks promising now! The only thing that I saw from the demo that I didnt like is that cherry bomb, jalapeño and the new plant chili pepper (I think? It’s just a cold vertical jalapeño) Are all instant plants that you can only use once as power ups, I would change that you can use those instant plants with your sun count, but for now it actually looks like they are listening to us finally, also sunflower is now a playable plant, so I’m glad they rebutchered the sunflower too
I don't know, the new version reeks of "oh shit they hated it, quick, damage control", it feels too safe, too samey, extremely unfinished and sets some quite scary precedents... I don't have my hopes up for it
I give up on the PvZ Franchise. I'll always revisit the original and that's it. Nothing can fix this.

I wonder what George Fan, the creator of the franchise, would think of this. This is quite sad. Also, when I saw the changed-up artstyle as well as them completely changing the iconic PvZ logo to something much more vague, less appealing, less iconic, and much more knockoff-esque, I was really triggered. One thing I loved about PvZ2 is how the artstyle WASN'T drastically changed up, it was basically the artstyle of the original game, only much much better and higher resolution. It felt like an evolution of the original game's look, not a complete let's-throw-it-all-out-the-window. Like, PvZ2 was a gorgeous game.

I played PvZ2 but deleted itt 1 week after installing it. I cant say anything to the other games, I didnt play PvZGW2 Or BfV. Come on EA, do something because this isnt right.
