I read Gothikana as one of my first dark romance books and I think that’s why I liked it so much. If I read now for the first time, after all the books I’ve read since, I probably wouldn’t like it as much.

My favorites of the month were the Love Me With Lies trilogy by Tarryn Fisher! (The Opportunist , Dirty Red, Thief.) Beautiful writing, morally gray characters, angsty, each book in the pov of one person in a twisted love triangle. (Book 1 & 3 were my faves. I hate Leah, but Tarryn has a way of making me feel slight sympathy for her in the 2nd book. Olivia & Caleb meet in college, and it spans a good ten years of them missing out and sabotaging situations before they can have another chance. Painful at times but addicting.

omg Larry i feel the same thing about gothikana, i was more interested in the mystery plot but it wasn’t fully resolved bc at the end we still have some events that aren’t explained. plus i didn’t care for the romance, the characters had some chemistry at the beginning but when they got together i lost interest
i read 8 books this month which is pretty okay especially since I got into a slump halfway through the month and it's still here but I only had one book that I didn't really like all the others were really good. I wanna try dark romance but I'm scared, I don't mind a certain level of darkness but i feel its different when its fantasy.
Have you read Claire Kingsley's Dirty martini running club series? One of my fav series and she is one of my fav authors. The first book of the series is fake dating, boss assistant story- Making Ms right. It's awesome!!!
