Thank you! Yes! I have discontinued listening to some for that reason. They are hopeless and don’t give the steps toward moving in a better direction personally and societally. BTW, I am down in the Akron area doing the same! I am (trying) to practice Loving Kindness and knowing I have no power over the macro so I do what I do as opportunities present themselves.

What you said about telling the man who was so consumed by conspiracy theories…that even assuming they’re true he could not do anything about it really resonated with me. I have had such a difficult time not getting caught up in the negativity especially with politics, taxes, shootings and economics until I was finally able to truly give up trying to have control over it. I feel so much healthier, cleaner inside. All it took was saying and truly meaning, “I cannot control this. I leave it in the hands of God.” And there was no more anger. No more agitation. No more judgment. No more fear. No more guilt for judging others. No more feelings of shame for thoughts of shaming others. Just life. And empathy for those who have not snapped out of it yet.

I stay away from news and negative input in films. videos music etc I curate what I take in and focus on that which is full of love. Love is the only thing that matters. Even those who are good intentioned in political circles promoting unity etc can produce fear and disharmony. Let's focus on love, unity and allowing each person to be themselves with their beliefs. we can go within and have compassion for ourselves and others. Let's truly believe in and create a TRUE loving society. Even if we think we are loving let's go deeper and look at all aspects of ourselves to continually challenge ourselves to explore all aspects of how we can be accepting and loving. Our judgements and self righteousness can get in our way. it's a continual journey of growth. Every breath , every moment is an opportunity to love ourselves and each other. I would hardly consider this as your most controversial video but it is very consistent to your overall message. I wished more spiritual channels would follow this model of encouragement instead of the clickbait.
I called it controversial because it is controversial to be not controversial in the RUclips climate.

Fear sells. If my husband puts up a music video (he's a singer/songwriter) he'll get a few hundred views. If it's a Breaking News or Emergency Alert video he can get 4,000 to 9,000 watches. I tried doing a Good News weekly broadcast and people were staying away in droves. Lol 😂 I enjoy your calming videos. ❤

I have empathy for creators trying to get noticed and earn a living, but my personal internet boundary is to ask not to get recommendations that are clickbait and/or fear based. I have removed channels where I otherwise enjoyed some of their content as I recognize that is not for me.

Thank you John. This is exactly why I listen to you. I have turned off most news and am careful what and who I listen to. I work hard but don’t chase money. I too want to pay my bills, have a loving and welcoming home. I have food to eat and many comforts that I am grateful for. I don’t think large numbers of in my bank account would make me happier!
People often make suggestions on what someone else "should" do. You do you and we'll all keep watching because you're sharing a message that we want to hear!

Thanks John. This is SO true. So many spiritual people I know and you tubers say they are loving but then there will be this subtle “you need to do this” or “ if you don’t do this date, it won’t happen for you” - they are very subtle so I’m not even sure these people are conscious it’s fear based. I am highly sensitive to fearful talk so pick it up and I won’t continue talking if they start that.
I try to go (I sometimes fail I know) with the everything is ok and moving towards love. Sometimes we act out of fear but we can forgive ourselves. Everything is working in our favour - even seemingly negative things and challenges come up to be able to see where we are still being fear -based and move past it.

I don’t agree with you on everything but I most definitely agree with you on this.
This is the exact reason why I stopped watching next level soul. He was growing in popularity and all the sudden he started reuploading older interviews with scary titles. So many of the channels on here pushing “doom and gloom” or “just do this and you’ll get everything you ever wanted” or even worse “you must know this before such and such time or you will suffer forever because time is running out”.
I was trapped in the fear cycle for years. Viewing the world through that lens was absolutely awful. I still have bouts of crippling anxiety and trepidation but it’s getting easier to catch them out and they don’t last nearly as long. I’ve also stopped exposing myself to things that put my nerves on edge. I can’t change the big picture and worrying about it only hurts me.
John, thank you for being such an example. It can be so hard for so many of us to speak our truths, but I do believe it is a large part of what sets us free. These controversial, fearful titles many of us see through. I know when I am being duped. I hope more people are waking up to this, too. But I too, was drawn into them at first, and yes! I felt fearful. But I also knew it was not where I wanted to live from, and our session helped me find my way back from that little detour. I love your channel for your truth always centered on and coming from love. Thank you for being the voice we so desperately need.

"bigger RUclipsr, bigger channel, bigger subscriber list." Apparently bigger is not better! And that advice would seem to have been delivered from a big ego.
I stopped watching the news a number of years ago because it was stressing me out so bad. Basically anything I need to know, I will hear in a headliner on my commute or I will hear from other people. The rest I can do almost nothing about so it only cultivates helplessness.
This is the same reason I've stopped watching some RUclipsrs for whom I used to have respect, and now they're just using scare tactics, much like evangelicals and newscasters.
I don't need that in my life.
My head is not in the sand, I see what's going on. I'm a kind person and I try to make the world a better place. Full stop.

Definitely one of the reasons I’ve subscribed to your channel. In fairness, the “secret knowledge” stuff is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine, but I don’t need it or feel intimidated by it. Even if there is truth, 99 percent of people will get along just fine without it.
But yeah, not only have I come across New Age fearmongering, I’ve come across (arguably) even more Christian/Catholic fearmongering about Hell, damnation, blasphemy, all the old scare tactics you’re all too familiar with (given your Catholic background). One wonders why they need to appeal to fear, if their loving God is so grand and wonderful…

Thank you for this, John. You know, I think social media is just mimicking the news. Everything is fear-based and controversial to get you to watch, so RUclips has become an extension of that, for some people. But remain true to you. There's so many times I encounter clickbait, and I wanna kick myself for not only gravitating towards the sensationalist titles, but for thinking they were true. Half the time, it's just a device to draw people in. Isn't it better to be genuine?❤️

Another interesting reason not to watch mind-disturbing fearful videos is the interesting research on water where Masaru Emoto using high-speed photography discovered that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. I have noticed how many have formulas for manifesting wealth, as if that is the mainstay of the spiritual life. Dont be surprised that as people vacate the churches, they too start a gimmick for manifesting wealth as well. Thank you for taking the high road, John. In time, all these "flash in the pan", Gurus" will fade away as people get tired of the same old same old prophecies that go no where. Its like the wheat and the darnel analogy. You offer Love, the substance of the Divine, the rest offer Spiritual "junk food". You and those like you, who take the high road, will remain, while many of the shysters will end up selling used junk cars in the inner city as " Honest so an so, the working man's friend", shades of Mr Haney. I try to look past the annoying titles because often the guest is good and actually says the opposite of the title! But it bothers me because the RUclipsr is not being in integrity, sowing division and also- to be frank, they are kind of insulting their audience!! So thank you for speaking up!
Saw one of those Left Behind movies the other night. Entertaining bit of fluff, but none of it resonated or put me in any kind of fear state. The more you talk about Jeshua the more I feel that I'd like the guy had I ever met him. Perhaps some day he and I will share a beer and some figs.
