I have to say, Thuringia left a lasting impression on me, and yes, i wish our roads were even half as good lol. i may do a look how terrible our roads are video just to show you how bad its got here
Bavaria surely is beautiful. Those wide hills at around 2:30 min always give me a deep continental feeling. A landscape as old as the world with a typical land climate. Cold winters, hot summers. 👍
I love the that Suzuki 650 platform. I believe this is the last year of it in the states anyway. I'd love to ride these beautiful roads. Ride safe & enjoy it!
glad you enjoyed it mate 🙂 Theres plenty more on the channel, hope you will look around and find something your interested in. there is more on the website too. and there will be more to come. Cheers for watching.Hope you will climb aboard. Ride Free 🙂
Uh ? You came all the way down here and missed Itlay dolomites and friaul completely ? The best roads I know that can be legaly ridden are in northern italy. Will go there again on friday 😂. Cheers from Bavaria
I was on limited time and had a friend in Kassel just out of hospital i needed to visit. I have an invite to the French Alps, so i will be back 🙂 We had originally planned more of Italy, but the delay at the start made time very tight. as to the best roads. The Vosges, North East Portugal, the Sierra Nevada's and the Vallejo de Manzenado as well as the roads around Clermont Ferrand might all have something to say about that lol. i came to the conclusion many moons ago, there is no best roads, just enjoy the journey wherever it takes you. But i will be back to explore more. I do want to go back to Thuringia too though. Because the national advice re off road riding is DO NOT DO IT, i was wary of it, but it looked like there was some good light off road potential in Thuringia, even had a couple of dirt bikes flash past me up one lane i found, but they had gone before any chance to chat. ride free my friend
There are many low mountain ranges in Germany. And all of them are ideal for long motorcycle tours. So dear British friends, not always just the B500 in the Black Forest. Eifel, Sauerland, Harz, Thuringian Forest, Erzgebirge, Rhön, Spessart, Black Forest, Saxon Switzerland, Bavarian Forest, Allgäu, Odenwald. Have I forgotten any? Definitely! And all of the landscapes are at least as beautiful as the Black Forest along the B500.
I am sure i only saw a very small amount, i do intend going back to Thuringia though. and the people there were lovely too, it left a warm place in my heart
We used to get these large serving bowls that were were made/signed from Bavaria. Some fine china stuff & the large 8"-12" bowls were all over $100 in the early 80's..... Your cameras must run for a fairly long time, I'm just guessing b/c IDKnow but I think you must have a fair amount of video that you've not shown yet? BUT you can always make a big Docu-Drama type of presentation later on..... Yup, you probably have outfitted the bike w/ direct power so you could let the Cams roll only to stop & change the drives as needed. I gotta go look at your V-Strom Vids..... peace
So near the end at 20 mins, what is the path you cut off to the right on? Is that on your mapsco as a road to travel? There must be a lot of those to travel? Now that's a great way to travel if ya got the gas to go that way.
i was just looking for a stop to take a drink lol, thats where the next video starts :-) once we were on it i looked, but it really was a road to nowhere, a complete dead end with what looked like a couple of farms on the map. but i do have a tendancy to just see a road and take it lol, thats how i found the first waterfall road in "The Best Road So Far" :-) as to the footage, i have a gopro, but most of this was done on a DJIOsmoso Action 4 i got just before leaving, it does a 2 hour record on one battery and comes complete with a 3 battery bank, so charge the bank and you have 6 hours of footage with only 2 battery changes, so it makes the Gopro look a bit silly. but i can get better sound on the goprov via an external mic. but im working on that lol, as always. getting the sound right is very hard
Yeah, getting all of the audio/video together is something I let other folks do..... How old is your V-Strom650? Is it one you grabbed & built up over time for the journey(s)? I see so many capable bikes which is why MY Intent is such an important thing to know. I am taking the time in the front end to try to determine all that but I also realize some of the "intent" can't be known until after I start riding again. It's been a long time since my Kz1000 or the CB360 and then the trusty TOMOS 49.9cc beast. I learned the most on the moped, since it only went 42mph I had to share the road & even on 30MPH Roads I still would grant cars a "pass" to move on by me. I road that for 3yrs b/c of a loss of my license. After driving for 16 yrs I lost my DL for 3 years as punishment. We live -n- learn. Yeah, I like the freedoms the bike offers. peace
@@diggy-d8w My Strom is an 07, and ive had it since 2009, was pristine then with very few miles. this is the one i have just kept riding lol. ive done various mods, but nothing major, its a non ABS series 1 model, before they started putting weight on lol
Yeah, today's the 1st time I looked at the 3 generations of this bike..... she's on a solid platform & you've got the skills to deal w/ most anything it could ever need. I've seen them around they were early on providing this type of bike at that time. Look how long it took Yamaha to bring the T7 out? It's hard to go very wrong w/ the Japanese bikes, the big 4 all offer reliability & I'm betting you have one of the Suzuki Seats to make the passenger more comfy? Or at least I saw one today & I thought I'd have that seat for anyone I brought with me. Most bikes are so pitiful for anyone on back. Anyhoo, yeah.... you guys rest well tonight. I'm off to do the same. peace
What is the price of petrol over there? If the democrats stay in office here in the US, gasoline will be $5.00 per gallon soon. US built gas guzzling pickups, cars, and high displacement motorcycles will be giving way to Italian, Japanese or Chinese mopeds, or God forbid, e-bikes. This energy diva has stopped drilling on orders from Bidem and Soros
it varied a lot, there was a station on the Austria border selling duty free fuel at about 1 euro 65 i think, but generally 1.80 to 2 euros a litre, so more than the UK but still much more than you, we pay about £1.50 to 1.70 a litre, its getting more expensive than printer ink lol
Wish we had roads as good as those here in Oz! 👍

i wish the video showed the rolling hills and elevation changes better 🙂 it was a lovely relaxing ride, cheers for watching mate
