Hey man great video Also when can I go for type rating ( is it after getting my dgca cpl or right after submitting the documents I can continue with my TR)
Hello sir, just came across your youtube channel. You are doing a great work for the aspiring pilots who don’t have any history with aviation but still want to be a pilot without any hassles. I have few questions I’ll be highly thankful if you help me out. 1) Is rtr needed for cpl from usa? 2) After getting a cpl from usa if I get it converted to Indian one, will I still be able to keep my us license? 3) How much will the license conversion cost me after coming back if Ive already cleared my medicals and the papers before going and how mich time will it take. 4) Will there be good availability of vacancies for pilots next year in the Indian airlines? 5) Will it be good if I only do my cpl from usa and then do my type rating from the airline I get selected for? Because if I already have done type rating by myself I still will have to pay the airline for airline training and I’ll miss many opportunities because of my type rating on a specific aircraft. So please tell if what im thinking is a good option? 6) Lastly, please recommend me the best flying school in usa for international students. I know what I’m asking are a lot of questions but sir I have nobody who can help me with these doubts. Please do answer. Thank you so much sir. I wish you get millions of subscribers by the end of the year as you deserve it!
Thank you so much Sahiba. Here are your answers: 1) you dont need rtr for your license from USA 2) absolutely, you will be able to hold other licenses too 3) if you have cleared the necessary steps here, you will need an rtr license first (either passing the exam in India or doing it from Canada and converting it). Followed by frtol to start your flight checks here. If you plan it well you should be able to finish it before 6 months (before your recency lapse). Cost can vary depending on single or multi engine Aircraft checks. 2-5Lakhs (depends on the aircraft type and if recency hours are needed) 4) the Indian industry is picking up well, there are quite a few pilots waiting due to the last pandemic. But things are opening up well, hopefully if things go in place there will be loads of opportunities. 5) Don't think of type rating yet, that decision should be taken keeping the market in mind. Would urge you to focus on finishing the CPL first and then discuss that later. 6) There are tons of schools in USA. Best thing to do is to shortlist schools.as per your requirements. Try to speak to students who have completed it before at that place before you decide to join any. Always good to have raw advice from those who have done it there. Good luck to you !
@@theindiancaptains About the first point, you said I will not need an rtr for license from usa. But now you say that for the conversion I will need rtr license so can I do the rtr with the other papers that are regulations, navigation and meteorology.
For FAA license you don't need an rtr. Yes, you can finish your rtr with other papers. If you wish to go without it, students usually go to Canada after getting their USA license and get their rtr while returning back to India.
Hello Sahiba, I am a fellow aspirant too, I am getting my loads of doubts cleared with my intense research. However I believe, it's always a great idea to find people approaching the same path for discussions and preparations. So can we connect? Over LinkedIn or any other platform feasible to you.
I have question, during certain FAA training we log both PIC and Dual received on the same flight. Does that count towards towards the PIC time requirements in India?
hello im rated on the single and multi engine from an ICAO contracting state on a CPL The Multi is a Beechcraft Baron-55 (BE-55) the question is can i have multi endorsed on my indian cpl if i give my conversion test on a single engine since india does not have a beechcraft baron
Hey you can do your checks on Single, however to get your multi rating you need to have your multi checks completed in accordance with dgca at contracting state current with the 6 months of submission your documents.
Yes you need 100 hrs PIC. But your multi hours are also counted. All your SPIC or P1(U/S) or any checkride hours can be counted towards the grand total.
Sir I am done with met am going to SA in 2 months so if I don’t clear nav and reg before going will I hv to give nav reg met composite after coming back
You can give nav and regs separately as you are registered without a license on pariksha. If you want to give composite, then you have to show your SA license
Sir I am planning to start my CPL (IR+ME) training from SOUTH AFRICA l. So how much will it cost me to convert it into DGCA cpl. Including all those skill tests. 2) Do i have to give medicals in India as well as the country in which i am doing the training
Hello Amit. 1) if your doing your CPL with ME rating only all your flight test has to be done in the multi engine aircraft. However if you are rated on both SE and ME you can do most checks on the SE aircraft which is usually 10000-15000 INR per hour. You have to fly around 8 hours of tests in india. That cost will depend on which aircraft you fly. Most of the multi engines cost 40000 INR PER HOUR plus examiner fee per exam. 2) yes it's mandatory to be medically fit in both the countries for their respective license. In this case a Class 1 is a must for your DGCA CPL.
hi sir , i m thinking of doing my cpl in SA but only after finishing my nav ,met ,regs in india . Do i have to clear rtr also in india? if i get my rtr from SA i can directly convert it in india right? Do i have to write rtr again in india for frtol after coming back ?
Sanjana if you have completed your papers, rtr and medicals before going. You will hardly take 3-6 months for conversion process and to apply for the license. Otherwise it can take 1-2 years depending upon what's left to complete. So for me it took a while since I hadn't completed them before leaving
Hey are there any restrictions for the type of aircraft you fly for ME endorsement in india. Can i do my ME on piper seminole and convert it to Indian license(faa to dgca)
Doing FAA would be better as it's quite affordable when compared to EASA. In EASA people usually complete the frozen atpl and return. But that is of no help when you convert your license in India as you would not get a frozen atpl in India.
Hello I am currently pursuing my FAA CPL and I have started logging PIC hours after I got my PPL. As is the norm in the US. But most flights are logging both Dual and PIC so can this be counted towards the 100hrs PIC. Or do I need to do 100hrs Solo flight time to qualify?
Apurv in USA for your IR flying it's logged as PIC however that is counted as dual India. Apart from that you need to have 100 hours Of PIC. Doesn't need to be only solo flight time. Even if you fly XC with a safety pilot, just count the hour when you are the PIC towards PIC hours. When you convert your license, DGCA will check for your Safety pilot hours and that will not be counted towards total flight time or PIC Requirement.
Take for instance, after converting the foreign license to the Indian one, I wish to go in for a 3 year undergraduate course before I apply for a job as a pilot. 3 years later, will the cpl still be valid? or willl I have to do some flying again in order to apply to airlines?

Yes that's recommended. If your planning to do your training abroad, just complete the three papers Navigation, meteorology and regulation. These paper scores will be valid for 5 years. So when you return you don't need to write them. Gen Specific and technical is not required if you do your training from abroad.
You can get in touch on our Instagram handles (given in the description) we will be happy to guide you ! Also you could write us on indiancaptainsofficial@gmail.com
Yes, you can Nidhi. Few years back there were few discrepancies with regards to log book and dgca had banned them back then. But now you can, but be careful with regards to the flying requirements. PIC, XC time so it can ease your conversion process in India.

Hello Shoeb plz listen what I say
Sir. Is it possible to complete the theory papers of dgca first and then I can go to abroad for cpl training. After completed my cpl training in abroad then I think I don't need to write the 6 dgca theory papers once again. May I correct sir??
Yes that's recommended. If your planning to do your training abroad, just complete the three papers Navigation, meteorology and regulation. These paper scores will be valid for 5 years. So when you return you don't need to write them. Gen Specific and technical is not required if you do your training from abroad.

Can we do pilot training in Philippines..
Yes, you can Nidhi. Few years back there were few discrepancies with regards to log book and dgca had banned them back then. But now you can, but be careful with regards to the flying requirements. PIC, XC time so it can ease your conversion process in India.
Thank u.. Which flying school would you recommend
There are many schools around. It depends on your requirements in a school. So look at that before deciding where to join.
Is it good idea to do CPL training in Poland..?
You will be doing the EASA program. Might be a little more expensive due to program structure.
@@theindiancaptainsbasically I'm talking about bsc in aviation which will be around 6L for overall program
