Nice. But I miss Saola and Bali Cattle and also the different types of domesticated water Bufallo (swamp and river). The middle wild Yak is in fact a domesticated one. And the last Kouprey shows a Gaur.
@Azharudheen Azhar, actually, the saola is not an antelope, if it belongs to the Bovini tribe, then the saola is a cattle, the word "antelope" only refers to the taxa Tetracerus, Tragelaphini, Hippotraginae, Peleinae, Reduncinae, Antilopinae, Cephalophinae, and Neotraginae, while none of the bovids under the taxa Boselaphus, Bovini, Ovibovinae, Alcelaphinae, or Caprinae are considered antelope.
@Azharudheen Azhar, there are bovids that have a genus name named after a genus of antelope like the Takin with its scientific name being Budorcas taxicolor and the Saola with its scientific name Pseudoryx nghetinhensis, but these two bovids are not actually antelope, the takin is one of the only two surviving members of the tribe Ovibovini, which is one of the three tribes of the subfamily Ovibovinae, the other member of the tribe Ovibovini is the Muskox (Ovibos moschatus), the other two tribes within the Ovibovinae subfamily are Hemitragini (Tahrs) and Naemorhedini (Gorals, Mountain Goat, Serows, and Chamoises), while the saola (Pseudoryx nghetinhensis) is a small primitive cattle that is the sole living member of the subtribe Pseudorygina, which is the most basal living subtribe of cattle (tribe Bovini), so the takin and saola are both not actually antelope despite their genus name.
Interesting but you made so many spelling mistakes. It could have been much better should you be more careful with the spelling. It's gAur by the way....
@Animals Of World, the muskox is actually a member of the subfamily Ovibovinae, which also includes tahrs, gorals, serows, chamoises, the mountain goat, and the takin.
@Zak Kaplan 💯, actually, the muskox (Ovibos moschatus) belongs to the subfamily Ovibovinae, which groups it with the takin, gorals, serows, chamoises, mountain goat, and tahrs, Ovibovinae is a subfamily of bovids native mostly to Eurasia and lives mostly in cold-weather climate, Ovibovinae contains 18 species within 9 genera and three tribes, the tribes within Ovibovinae are Hemitragini (Tahrs (contains 3 genera: Arabitragus (includes 1 species: Arabitragus jayakari), Nilgiritragus (includes 1 species: Nilgiritragus hylocrius), and Hemitragus (includes 1 species: Hemitragus jemlahicus))), Naemorhedini (Gorals, Serows, Chamoises, and Mountain Goat (contains 4 genera: Oreamnos (includes 1 species: Oreamnos americanus), Rupicapra (includes 2 species: Rupicapra rupicapra and Rupicapra pyrenaica), Capricornis (includes 6 species: Capricornis rubidus, Capricornis sumatraensis, Capricornis thar, Capricornis milneedwardsii, Capricornis swinhoei, and Capricornis crispus), and Naemorhedus (includes 4 species: Naemorhedus baileyi, Naemorhedus goral, Naemorhedus griseus, and Naemorhedus caudatus))), and Ovibovini (Muskox and Takin (contains 2 genera: Budorcas (includes 1 species: Budorcas taxicolor) and Ovibos (includes 1 species: Ovibos moschatus))), the subfamily Ovibovinae (Muskox, Takin, Gorals, Serows, Chamoises, Mountain Goat, and Tahrs) is placed within a clade that contains the subfamilies Hippotraginae (Grazing Antelope (contains 3 genera: Oryx (includes 4 species: Oryx leucoryx, Oryx dammah, Oryx beisa, and Oryx gazella), Addax (includes 1 species: Addax nasomaculatus), and Hippotragus (includes 2 species: Hippotragus equinus and Hippotragus niger))) and Alcelaphinae (Hartebeests, Wildebeests, Bontebok, Blesbok, Tsessebe, Topi, Korrigum, Tiang, and Hirola (contains 5 genera: Beatragus (includes 1 species: Beatragus hunteri), Elaphotaurus (includes 4 species: Elaphotaurus tiang, Elaphotaurus korrigum, Elaphotaurus lunatus, and Elaphotaurus topi), Damaliscus (includes 2 species: Damaliscus pygargus and Damaliscus phillipsi), Connochaetes (includes 2 species: Connochaetes gnou and Connochaetes taurinus), and Alcelaphus (includes 2 species: Alcelaphus buselaphus and Alcelaphus caama))), the Ovibovinae + (Hippotraginae + Alcelaphinae) clade split from the other bovids more than 30,000,000 years ago during the early Miocene, making the Ovibovinae + (Hippotraginae + Alcelaphinae) clade a primitive and basal lineage of bovids.
@@indyreno2933 right. Meaning what I said is true, the musk ox is actually closer related to goats and sheep and than it is to cattle. I realize that it is even closer related to the Mountain goat and other animals in that category. I’m wondering why you felt the need to copy and paste so much information no one asked for.
@Zak Kaplan, actually, goats and sheep are more closely related to cattle than either of them are to the muskox, which is why the Caprinae subfamily now only applies to the goats (tribe Caprini) and sheep (tribe Ovini), while the muskox, takin, gorals, serows, chamoises, mountain goat, and tahrs are all relocated to a separate subfamily known as Ovibovinae, the subfamilies Ovibovinae (Muskox, Takin, Gorals, Serows, Chamoises, Mountain Goat, and Tahrs) and Caprinae (Goats and Sheep) are not closely related, the subfamily Ovibovinae forms a clade with the subfamilies Hippotraginae (Grazing Antelope) and Alcelaphinae (Hartebeests, Wildebeests, Bontebok, Blesbok, Tsessebe, Topi, Korrigum, Tiang, and Hirola), while the subfamily Caprinae forms a clade with the subfamilies Antilopinae (Gazelles and True Antelope), Cephalophinae (Duikers), and Neotraginae (Dwarf Antelope), there are now ten extant subfamilies of bovids, Ovibovinae (Muskox, Takin, Gorals, Serows, Chamoises, Mountain Goat, and Tahrs), Hippotraginae (Grazing Antelope), Alcelaphinae (Hartebeests, Wildebeests, Bontebok, Blesbok, Tsessebe, Topi, Korrigum, Tiang, and Hirola), Peleinae (Grey Rhebok), Reduncinae (Reedbucks, Lechwes, Kob, Puku, and Waterbuck), Bovinae (Cattle, Spiral-Horned Antelope, Nilgai, and Chousingha), Caprinae (Goats and Sheep), Antilopinae (Gazelles and True Antelope), Cephalophinae (Duikers), and Neotraginae (Dwarf Antelope), there are also now three major clades of bovids, the primitive Ovibovinae + (Hippotraginae + Alcelaphinae) clade, the cattle-like Peleinae + (Reduncinae + Bovinae) clade, and the goat-like Caprinae + (Antilopinae + (Cephalophinae + Neotraginae)) clade, traditionally, all bovids other than bovines were classified under the now-defunct clade Aegodontia, but this taxon is polyphyletic because the goats, sheep, true antelope, gazelles, duikers, dwarf antelope, reedbucks, lechwes, kob, puku, waterbuck, and grey rhebok are all more closely related to bovines than any of them are to either the muskox, takin, gorals, serows, chamoises, mountain goat, tahrs, grazing antelope, hartebeests, wildebeests, bontebok, blesbok, tsessebe, topi, korrigum, tiang, and hirola, the reason why goats and sheep are both more closely related to cattle than any of them are to the muskox is because the Caprinae + (Antilopinae + (Cephalophinae + Neotraginae)) clade is the sister taxon to the Peleinae + (Reduncinae + Bovinae) clade to the exclusion of the Ovibovinae + (Hippotraginae + Alcelaphinae) clade, therefore, muskoxen and mountain goats are not classified under Caprinae anymore and the Aegodontia taxon is no longer recognized.
