That nib is no shrinking violet. The reason why the sleeve for the converter is narrower is to allow the wall thickness of the material of the section to be thicker as celluloid is not as robust as acrylic.
In turquoise? Did you perhaps mean Tortoise? Anyhow, so glad you are back. I love my celluloid 3776 Karakusa which I got as a covid consolation…and just before the price was jacked up to over $1000!
Platinum 3776 in Celluloid!? oh, wow. Incredible beauty. I can only imagine the feel of it, writing, the touch, and the way the tactile sense flows over the paper. Congratulations. I would also like a fine, but "medium is fine" too. Thank you for this review, Kerry.
I also just recently purchased a couple of 3776's. I had tried an SF nib a few years back and it was so bendy and smooth I fell in love (but sadly couldn't afford it) was finally able to get one recently and noticed that it is no longer as bendy and smooth. Maybe its just my pen? Learning to get used to it. Then purchased an F nib that I adore. So glad that I bought it. My eye is on the 3776 Sands of Komodo, but I just can't justify the Canadian price plus shipping. I shall admire her from afar. There seems to be a lack of videos from people purchasing that one, only a couple out.
GET OUT! A 3776 in celluloid?! BEAUTIFUL! Being a cat mama is hard, glad Parker is improving. (Cat in box added for Parker to be living her best life!)
First time I have seen the channel. It is just an object, but I’m glad you got yourself something beautiful that you appreciate in a singular way. I’m glad the pen has a new home.
Im glad Parker is doing better... I've got two cats about to turn 3 that have lived in my current place since 6 weeks old. I'm scared to move because of how they will react. Great to see you pop up in my feed again!
Cellushittingloid! --- It's a ripper and I want one! That classic torpedo shape is beyond improvement and harkens back to a golden age of vintage beauty and utility ; and--- who knew?!---the rounded ends are perfect for acupressure points when encountering writer's block 😚 . This pen transcends my expectations. Bless you.
Congratulations! I have a celluloid Platinum 3776 in the ishigaki (calico) finish and it's always inked up, used daily because it really is that special. 🖋️ ✨ Good to see you back on the Tubes and all best to your kitty grrl.
Love the microphone holder.. groovin on the bookshelf. I LOVE the Gravitas acrylic vac🤟🏽 Blessing you and Parker 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽 congratulations on the celluloid 3776🎉
Several years ago, i picked up a 3776 Celulloid in Midnight Ocean Blue for $50! I think it must be fairly old as it won't take a converter. I can't find anything on cartridge only 3776s, but it came from Mexico, so maybe that's the difference? Congratulations on the new pen!
Welcome back. My cat, Toyoko-chan (AKA "The Cub"), sends greetings and hopes for Parker's rapid recovery. I just got a grail pen that I have been saving for: A Pelikan M900 Toledo with an F nib. Delightful work of art!
I'm not sure why the converter sits differently, but I do have a question about it. With my 3776 one of the few things I don't love about it is that when I tap the side of the pen (or just pick it up quickly, etc.) I'll hear the converter click against the side of the barrel. Does that happen still with the celluloid model? Not something that bugs me enough to pay the cost of admission, but I'm curious.
I was confused by you calling it Turquoise, but I see someone mentioned that you may have meant Tortoise. That makes more sense. Great to see you! Looking forward to more.
I don't know for a fact, but my guess as to why the difference in the internal structure would be that the celluloid body needs to be thicker than the plastic/resin version for the same strength. I guess they did not want to change the external dimensions, so had to make the internal diameter of the barrel narrower and so had to change the structure to fit it all in there.
Oops, I should have scrolled down further to see your comment before I posted. I agree with you. As a table tennis player I know what celluloid is like!
@@PensandTea Thanks, this is useful information to know as I like wet writers. As a relative newcomer to the hobby, I have found your channel to be very informative and inspirational. So glad you're back, and best wishes for Parker's return to full health!

Good call! I didn’t think of that

Welcome back! Beautiful pen, congratulations
Just put an order in for a 3776 celluloid Koi, love the colors on it. Thank you for putting the celluloid versions on my radar.

Well we just hit the three week mark and she’s definitely doing better. Still very cautious but making small steps everyday

Welcome back!
I love the bookshelf background, I love books too.😅
Thank you!! 😊
Lovely fountain pen. And welcome back 😊
CAN U MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT PEN MATERIALS AND THEIR PRO'S AND CON'S PLEASE?
I'M CURIOUS ABOUT EBONITE, CELLULOID AND LAVA RESIN.
That Platinum pen is absolutely gorgeous!

Welcome back! Your video helped me ~ as new Kaweco fountain pen owner.
Happy to hear your kitty is on the mend!
Welcome back! Nice to see you again.
🙏🏼 Yes, welcome back! I hope you're doing alright.
Gorgeous Pen. Love the turquoise !!~ Definitely one of my next pens !!~
Congrats!, great background. Now you need to make a video on your dice sets. You need a mini wand or sword to clip your mic to.
So glad Parker is doing better. I was concerned about you both. Now to see the pens...

Yeah I sure did. My brain went blah lol

I saw your Adrian Tchaikovsky Children of Time trilogy! I love him! Have you read his Architects series?
I haven’t but I’ll definitely check it out!
The walls of the celluloid are thicker. Perhaps this explains the differences you note.
I think Kerry's concept of "MANY years" and other people's are very different things.
TIL the word 'Torontonian' Learning all the time 😂🇨🇦
I wondered why you wished it had an ebonite feed. Could you say more about this?
Typically ebonite feeds make them write a little more on the wet side than plastic
