Budget version....pouches and bags from thrift stores. Thrifts always have a variety of zipper bags with single space, multi pocket and elastic bands from electronics, makeup and travel. Also, small tins are common. Pennies on the dollar. The variety of colors and patterns make IDing contents easy. The fire kit is iridescent orange. The mini med kit is Minnie Mouse. Hygiene is sky blue. Start where your budget is.
Yep, Goodwill is my 2nd home. I got an Eagle Creek bag. A good sized electronics bag, for a dollar or 2. Even a book style gun case with handles. Great like brand new tents and cots even for a tiny fraction of their original prices.
Been doing that for years. I don't do bugout bags, but I do always have a little pouch like that for extra edc items, first aid, writing. In the service we called them admin pouches. Just extra stuff you might frequently need that won't fit in your pocket well.
After watching your EDC and Organizational videos it really makes me take note, inventory and better prepare myself. I invested in a pocket organizer and updating the Emergency Bag in my car. Really appreciate everything you do! Keep it up.
I don’t use these specific pouches because of weight, but the idea is the same. I purchased parachute fabric from eBay 8-10 years ago & made small pouches with it (as I did my backpack). I was very much into ultra-lightweight backpacking at the time & not yet a prepper. I have since added pouches to accommodate the prepper items & simply remove those when doing a backpacking trip.
Thanks Sootch! I'm a big fan of the modular system, like having my specific systems separated. Cool to see like minded folks on the same page! Keep up the great work buddy, stay safe and long live the Republic!
Sootch, I've been watching both of your channels, from nearly the beginning. I've taken your advice generaly most of the time, but tailored them to my own needs. As to the Bic lighter, try wrapping a rubner band or other suitable item for that purpose, aroung the to to keep the gas from escaping. Also, I've adapted another solution for the Sharpie pen, by substituting the stainless Sharpie that you can refill. Yet another usefull video!
Organization is so key! I fought wild fire for a few years and I was hands and feet above everybody on all my crews in organization of my deployment bag/line bag. I remember the first time my crew boss saw me unpack it his jaw was on the floor! Multiple smaller gear bags are the key, and they need to be different from each other too! On top of that it helps if they are easily transported individually by themselves. For example I had one large sub kit that was also a small back pack by itself, a hip pack and two belt packs. My sleeping gear and warm weather clothes could just be rolled up and thrown over my shoulder. It, didn't just help me but others on my crew being that organized.
Good content as usual. I have replaced some of my pouches with watertight cases with an IPX6 rating. Keeping first aid, fire kit, batteries, ammo and other items that I want to protect from potential water damage and breakage. Thanks for the info and the motivation.
Thank you, @Sootch00. These pouches truly are helpful. And re the several ways to start a fire, it's true that you need more than one or two. I've been practicing starting fires just using wood and leaves, plants from the backyard. Some things take try after try before they catch. The best and easiest and longest burning is the cotton ball and Vaseline, which I roll up in some dryer lint. It keeps burning long enough to get the sticks and other stuff burning.
ANOTHER GREAT IDEA. SOME OF MY BUG OUT BAGS HAVE TOO MANY PLACES TO KEEP THINGS. HAVING ORGANIZED POUCHES IN THE BAG WIL KEEP IT ORGANIZED & MAKE IT EASIER TO GET TO THE IMPORTANT LARGER TOOLS I MAY NEED.. ALREADY BOUGHT A FEW BUT NOW THINKING ABOUT GETTING MORE
Thanks for all your vids. Been watching you for at least two years. Just got my daughter a rift core bag. Shes going to collage in aug. feel good about it. God bless my friend✌️
I have Bartact seat covers in my Jeep and they have molle strap connections all over the place. Just on the drivers seat there's a rip-away first aid pouch, fire extinguisher, a 6x6 and a 6x10 pouch with assorted gear all on the back of the seat. There's also a 2 magazine pouch on the door side. Plus other stuff. This is only the drivers seat. The other seat have molle pouchs and could hold a heck of a lot of gear. Thanks for the video Don! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
These pouches are good for vehicle, travel or EDC bags, but not good for any pack one plans on carrying on their back for distance. I see so many people filling their “bug out” packs with these. They add unnecessary weight, not to mention cordura is a heavy nylon made for abrasion resistance. There’s no reason to carry a 500D or 1000D pouch inside of a backpack. You don’t need heavy, abrasion-resistant fabric for something that will never see abrasion. But as I mentioned before, they are fine for travel/EDC/vehicle bags.
That's the advantage of molle gear. I keep my first aid on the side of my pack in something like this, and I specifically want a sturdy fabric to prevent it from getting ripped off.
20 + years ago before I retired as an inspector I met an electrician that taught me to carry band-aids in my wallet. He said he would be in the attic wiring a house and get an ouch and have to climb down to his truck to get a band-aid!!!!
I've noticed that while I was in SC that a lot of people wear thoose little EDC pouches, but if I where to wear that up here in pa I would stick out like a sore thumb
Defiantly budget wise. They look great but probably expensive nothing I can afford ou also need a bigger bag for other essentials like kits that we need if we are evacuated or some kind of disaster. Right?? Hope people agree with me. Although I like the bloopers at end of his video
Love you sootch and always have. Love the videos. I wish you would do a video on the feds storming Portland. As a Constitutionalist Republican, I find this unnerving and alarming. Saying the fed has a right to come in against local officials is wrong and we have to stand up to this. Stay safe brother.
Great Video! I'm currently looking to upgrade the system I have for my home and pickup. I'm also trying to upgrade a lighter weight survival system for our day long trail rides with the horses. There's a limit to what can be carried on one horse, so I'll be looking to separate into some light weight bags. New subscriber to your channel 👍
Look's like made in C crap, outside of the bags, and the gear one critical item missing is a accident form, and a small 1st aid wilderness and travel medicine book, it's great to have the essentials all in a small form, yet when you do bugger your self up, and might not be that clear of thought do to the injury etc. having a quick and easy reference to use is critical. As always the video was informative and well done.
Great video as always..but those pouches are great but way too costly and bulky in a Bob.. I'm on a budget so I use zip lock freezer bags been working good for me so far..
I bought a couple of these small pouches a couple of years ago and I stopped using them. For one how do you carry them? I just organize the stuff I need in a backpack. They are also inefficient in what they carry. There is always something I want to have with me that doesn't fit in one.
maxpedition pouches are mil spec quality. They are designed to be attached to a ruck n dragged through s**t and mud, rocks , thrown off heli etc. U get what u pay for....but, I'd send u some of my girlfriend's old makeup cases lol. I use to use them all the time as bag organizers before i invested in a good bag system
How many pouches and bags and carries do you have or recommend. Fire kit, first aid kit, edc, vehicle kit, get home bag, and a bug out bag. You could conceivably have 10 flashlights, 25 easy different means for fire, 10 shelters/tarps/bivies, five miles of cord, God only knows how many knives, saws, multi-tools.
Haven’t watched the video yet but wanted to say I bought 4 pouches for my pack and they’ll be here next week. Then I see this video pop up 😅 like you read my mind lol
The pouches themselves take up too much space and all that elastic never lasts very long. Ziplock Sliders... you can see everything in them and replace them for pennies. Pouches are useful for pack exterior and belt carry...
Yes did the same for me, asked for a password, but if you click on the shop now tab it works fine. Its when you click on the menu the the links there are screwed.
I'm a big fan of the mini - organizer pouches. Also Exotac products. I was surprised to see a Uco box of matches in there instead of a match-cap. Do you run those in other systems?
Ok. So what happened to your love of Maxpedition?? I know my Maxpedition pouches hold up and I bought all my Max pouches because of your reviews. If the reason you changed was due to defective product with Maxpedition, then please tell us. Thank you Rev. Timothy
No, I love Maxpedition and use a lot of their packs for different things. With all the various kits I wanted to show, using the Roaring Fire Pouches was easier. Thanks
From one Gear Guy to another I really enjoy your ideas. These things are always evolving and changing. It's addictive.
Thanks Rian! Yes, it's always looking to take it to another level.
You're the Warehouse for my kind. I love his videos. Some weak person will have gear and ammo for hundreds of people!

Nice video, with everything going on, now is when I really see the need to be prepared.
I use quart bags. All can be used as water containers, so I put a straw in each. I label them, but it’s easy to see what’s inside, keeping dry.
Keep up the good work brother. God Bless America.
I Do this with the Ziplock bags good Video ! I Even have some Dryer lint in a bag !
Dryer lint inside TP tubes, wrapped in advertisement paper, inside baggies. I have them everywhere :D
An organized mind is an amazing thing! Thanks for breaking it all down for us in STYLE!
Great ideas on ready access organization. Thanks. Being budget conscience for myself, I use various size and labeled Ziploc bags.

J J - that makes perfect sense for a military application, or for any pack that won’t be carried on your back over long distances.
@@BacktotheOutdoors
Your average "bugout" bag is not a long distance hiking rig, and the intended audience here is not Appalachian thru hikers.
I've been preaching this for years. Love the organization of it all. No messy go bag for me
In your med kit I would add a sharpie pen in it. So you can write on the tourniquet or the person your tending to. Awesome videos. Thanks.

You should have a huge logo or name or each pack!
Hello!!! Great video. But..how much weight you add at your back pack with this ... thanks
The pouch weights 5.9 oz so if you're putting this gear in your pack already, it's not much added weight. Thanks

I got some of that feirce fire as well. This works great👍
Super informative as always, this one in particular satisfies my OCD. I had put together some first aid kits, you've given me some more ideas 😁👍
They r kind pricey, where are the made? Are they made in USA?
couple real good ideas here thx Sootch long live the republic

Ridiculously expensive. I’d use these if someone sent them to me, but you’re crazy to spend this kind of money for small bags

Nice review. Thank you Sootch.
Thanks Lukus!
Really nice pouches. Be Safe!
Sootch, what do you think of the contrasting colors of the packs?
Very similar like Maxpedition FR-1
Great lil pouches
