Entering my first year as a middle school teacher! Love your videos and totally agree theres so much emphasis on elementary teachers on social media it's refreshing to see a teacher who just went through what I will be soon.

I felt so many of the same things you did last year (my first full year)! I teach 5th, so right in the cusp of middle school. I love how well you articulate your feelings and experiences. One of my fave teacher RUclipsrs to watch! 🙃

I’m going back to school this fall to pursue a degree in mathematics education and I am beyond excited. This will also be a major career change for me. Thanks you for this honest video. I am so beyond excited!

I have been been loving your videos and binging your channel as a first year 7th grade math teacher!
I've been trying to do as much preparation as I can because I'm just such a planner but I think the best advice I've heard for your first year is to "embrace the chaos" and it stuck with me. One thing I am confused about is creating a syllabus your first year. How do you create one when you don't know what you'll end up doing? Just don't have assignments on it or don't even have one at all?
Also I'm absolutely horrible with names. Any tips for remembering your students names?
I'm going to bug you again haha, please post your daily slides on TPT!

6, 7, and 8th grades?! Although there are some overlapping concepts that’s a big ask. Kudos to you! I also teach math; currently Algebra 1 and 2. Keep it going. Well done.

I was an engineering major for a while. Everyone always told me to do it, I knew I liked math, there's clout and they make good money, but other than that it felt like I had to make up reasons for y I was in engineering. I always felt like I didn't belong and quickly realized I didn't like physics and applying math to real stuff. Besides I had always said my plan b was teaching I just didn't know what subject. Now I am actually looking forward to my future and school
