      Hi nancy glad it's still keeping your pond clear you need to do a update video on your pond and filter

      Hey Nancy - Are you really pumping 7000gph through that filter? I thought it was only rated for about 5000gph per hour.

    • @ces69
      @ces69 4 года назад +1

      A tip on pond maintenance, always wash or clean the filter in “Pond” water only, “Never” use tap water as this will kill the bacteria that builds up in the filter to clear the Ammonia and Nitrites!

    • @NMWey1
      @NMWey1 4 года назад

      Nick Raph I checked with Oase’s parameters for their Clearwater guarantee and the pump that I am using is what Oase recommended. It has done an amazing job and my fish are doing great! Head pressure and distance from filter also play a part in the gph as well and we will be moving the filter into our pump house this spring which is about 12’ from where the filter is now.

    • @NMWey1
      @NMWey1 4 года назад +1

      cecil stolberg we use our well water to rinse the sponges from the filter on the rare occasion we remove them for a more intense cleaning. We rotate about a third of the sponges we intense clean leaving 2/3 of them undisturbed. We have only ever used our well water for the pond. Thanks for the input, I do appreciate it.

    amazing job for a pretty small sponge box filter!, i think its the screen that does the trick by removing the big solids before they enter the sponges!. your pond is huge for a garden pond and for a small filter like this to do the job it has done just goes to show how well designed it is!!!, great vid ;)

    • @aquamanknox
      @aquamanknox  4 года назад +1

      It is not small :) it may look so in the video but it about 4x 2 feet in size

    • @ces69
      @ces69 4 года назад

      aquamanknox For a Koi pond filter that is small!
      On my 5000 gallon pond I run 4 chambers that size and a 4 chamber Cloverleaf system with 2 x 55watt UV’s and 2x air pumps! (More oxygen = more good bacteria)
      On a more important note, have you tested your water for Ammonia and Nitrites as the most important job of the filter is removing these which are toxic to your fish rather than water clarity?
      This may take some time as the filter will take several weeks/months to build up sufficient bacteria to do this. You can speed the process by adding a bacteria start product from your local pond supplier!
      Good luck, great looking pond!

    Question.. i just got the screenmatic 24,000 do you think theres a way to direct the clean water from the screenmatic to a bakki shower vs draining immediately into the pond? Do you think the out flow is strong enough to go up about 3 or 4 feet to spray over the media? Or would that cause issues with the water flow in the filter box?
    Also, how many gallons is your pond and how often at first did you have to clean the dump tray and sponges?

    • @aquamanknox
      @aquamanknox  Год назад +1

      You can drain the clean water down but not up. It is a gravity drain and cannot drain up. You can drain down as far as you like. I hope that helps.

I buy a lot of my pond stuff from www.aquariumconnection.com/ as I don’t have a local pond store. You could check that site for pricing or if you have a local store you trust check with them. • @aquamanknox
      @aquamanknox  3 месяца назад

      You can make DYI filters. We all have. The manufactured models are usually easier to manage and take care of and have many features that are hard to DYI. 2400 is not for everyone, but there is no question that this is a beast of a filter that works. Often, you can DYI much larger filters as needed. The Oase filter sieve with auto rotate to empty is not something most could DYI. Thank you for the feedback. Please like and follow my channel.
