When there's snow in Abbotsford, you know there's going to be a crap ton on the Coq
Spectacular 🥰🥰🥰.
Cheers from Nepal... the Himalayas
Thanks for sharing this, I moved out east and this route was a staple of vacations as a kid. Music choice is perfect, this video is like therapy for me!
Always great when a truck drives needlessly in the fast lane
You seem to be spending a lot of time in the passing lane when you're not passing anyone
Unfortunately it's pretty common here in BC
Common maybe for coasties. Not the rest of BC
Good
Nice video but it almost looks like highway 5, highway 1 is the Transcanada Highway through Boston Bar, mostly 1 lane and much more scenic and less travelled.
bob Yeah I like driving that one more. Just don’t be in a rush.
I did this 3 weeks ago, but all the way to Alberta. Slick roads. Transportation minister should be ashamed of road conditions for a national hwy. On the way back, the snow on the Coq was crazy then hitting freezing rain in the valley made it a slow go. Drivers and truckers alike are absolutely nut bar crazy.
C Steele Lol I drive trains over the Couq and the connector to Kelowna everday. Roads the shits true but 75% of the accidents are caused by people in cars driving over roads that are past their ability. In other words if you're scared driving over that hyway don't you're a danger to yourself and everone else on the road.
I couldn't agree more but same with the truckers.... if they aren't comfortable stay the bleep off the roads. Chain up, snow socks don't work out here. They are a danger to the passenger cars. Many "believe" that have the skill to drive in the snow.. most are fooling themselves and many are un-prepared with bald or "seasonal tires" Btw, most of the accidents I saw were probably 50/50, but when you are driving those heavy loads in those types of conditions you got to be ON. It goes both ways right.
Which vehicle do you have at that time
Quite interesting to watch
Not surprised to see people sitting in the passing lanes and not having lights on in conditions like this.....
Ever since they closed the tolls and the government gave the road to Mainroad, that highway has been the shits. They don't plow as they should, it's absolute madness.
John Lyes that is awful
@@annetteslife snow makes more traction better then half plowed and salted roads
Its not true, BC highways were terrible in the winter before they privatized. The union guys only wanted to work in the weekday shifts and at night or weekend it was risky out there. Now they keep the corners sanded a lot better.
For winter drive and snowing I think I only counted 1 or 2 snow ploughs the hole trip.
And you wonder why it has the shitty reputation as highway thru hell.
That's highway 5. The coquihalla. After kamloops you can hook back onto number 1.
Came into that rest stop might fast...lucky you stopped.
Do you think it’s safer to drive that route or the southern one through Princeton, Manning Park, etc. ? I just have a little Hyundai Accent with tires that aren’t that great.
you're driving way too fast !!!
Nice
Do you guys think it's worse to travel the Coq during winter from Hope-Merritt or Merritt-Kamloops?
what camera were you using to make video?
Sweet!
Take care bro
Do they do spot checks?
what restaurant?? that civic was flying haha
That’s such a beautiful drive. I wish we had stuff like that where I live. (Southern California btw)
you do Donners Pass i believe it is called
@@squamishfish Donner is northern California. The Closest pass that can come a bit close to this in SoCal in South of Grapevine. I5.
Try Angeles Crest hwy 2
What’s with the sad dramatic music
Who would want to drive to Kamloops, even in good weather?
😂😂😂😂😂 “The Detroit of the North”😊
