This is exactly why I’ve always loved Porsche!!!! There’s something so special about their exhaust that gives you the chills!!!
The aircooled 911’s sounds so torquey and tractorlike out of the corners, while the water-cooled cars have more of a linear pull into an almost F1shriek! ❤️❤️❤️ just the most exciting rally cars! They ALL sound absolutely AMAZING!

Excellent video, great quality and nicely put together. That 996 GT3 really screams nicely, but the old aircooled cars make my heart soft. When they floor it and then lets off the gaspedal they sound like an angry lion where you accidently stepped on its tail ;o)
That 914-6 Gt was my favorite besides the Rs and the Papa Smurf 930 Turbo. Thank you for sharing!

Am I the only who likes the sound of the water cooled NA 911s best? I never liked the "whoosh" sound of a big turbo, but I do like the blow off. The old air cooled cars sound cool, but they just aren't as angry as the newer cars or at least not the same type of angry... The water cooled 911s just sound more manic and I dig that...
Right now, I'm working with this as background music. I am at peace now... Blessings...

This is amazing
The croaky and sawing aircooled ones seem to defecate into the same pit, but with 'em it simply stinks different. I mean they sound better ;) Even the modern ones here seem to breathe through open tubes, no air mass gauges or mufflers, which spoil the acoustic and performance joy with the watercooled engines, but the old ones are simply darker, meaner, mightier! Their gargle makes the goose pumps, the newer GT3 also bawl nice, but I'd prefer an old one.
+LCdrDerrick I agree, but the wail of the newer ones... jeez
Geez, the 996 catches a lot of flak, but in GT3, possibly Cup, trim those things sound absolutely amazing.

D4rkofth3m00n Also wirklich serienmäßig ist da kaum noch etwas ;), die neueren Porsche hier im Video sind GT3 bzw. GT3 RS, aber eine Straßenzulassung haben sie alle :)

kpn5000 The red one at the end and through most of the vid. was a 996 with lens covers. The newest was a white 991 before that. The rest were also 996, 993 and possibly a 997.

It's a 996 GT3 with the scrambled egg headlights updated. The dual side exhausts differ from the dual center exhaust of the 997/991 models
So, this video is for people who say that Porsche's don't deserbe to be rally cars.
It must not be too easy to pull the hand-brake on one of those 996 or 997, and touch the accel to make the car go again... I mean, if you press the pedal too much, you're going to spin in a very funny way.
