  • After leaving camp in the Ripsaw Recreation area here in Indiana and head down to the town of Cannelton. We had driven thru the night before and thought there it was worth a little extra time to explore.
One of the first things that caught our eye was the old Church, 1859, and its "rusty" stone construction! The town also featured one of the largest cotton mills west of the "colonies". Still standing, it has been turned into low income housing--cudos to Cannelton!
Then, as we drove through town to the river, we discovered this incredible, abandoned old factory. We had no idea what it was but later in the video a local gives us some insight. Well, it took awhile to interpret "suhu pop" into sewer pipe! One of the cool things about traveling all over the country are all the "accents" and dialects that almost seem foreign.
As we drove out of town, we saw something we couldn't believe, sheds full of tobacco. Our local buddy also filled us in on what was going on with that!
Amazing things to do in Indiana!
