      Would you say it's a fair call that the wallabies are more of a franchise than a representative team?

    • @islander_kool_kat
      @islander_kool_kat Месяц назад +12

      They are certainly not a franchise . The Wallabies are a brand . They have won two world cups and have had super stars such as the Ella brothers, Campese , John Eales , Gregan and even the Great League king Wally Lewis played rugby at junior level . Unfortunately the brand “ Wallabies” has taken a hit due to poor mismanagement by its former bosses. Hopefully with the new RA chairman coming in to the fold and setting up of a high performance centre ( under the tutelage of David Nucifora ) Rugby in Australia will hopefully be back to its glory days but yes I agree it will take awhile longer to get there .

    Wow, Thank you Mark for another amazing interview, they just get better. Followed you due to your invaluable financial insights, but love you more with these diverse and amazing interviews. I actually served you as my customer in retail about 4 years ago, and yes you were a gentleman and respectful. These interviews bring the best out of people. I can see Australia realise there is a vast Pacific Island community living in Australia, very family oriented, rich in culture and sport. And can definitely make an impact in all sports when given the chance. Sua'ali'i name was pronounced correctly by you, thank you for that as I've heard mispronunciations of some Pasifika names. It's just knowing the vowels, "aeiou" for those who struggle. I didn't realise Joseph was a high jumper, makes so much sense and definitely suited to rugby 7s, and he can travel, which is his passion so win/win. Loved his performance against England. Man of the match in his first international game. Can't wait to see more rugby games. I've always been a union supporter, so good to see the Wallabies growth under new Coach. Exciting times ahead :)

    Great interview, but even as a union watching pom. Suggesting the poaching from league to union has only been one way is a bit daft. Plenty of league players had a union background. Just the flow of talent and opportunity. Wallabies needed all the help they can get and this young lad is definitely helping.

    As a kiwi, I've always been an avid Wallabies hater 😂 but now that the uso is playing for the green and gold, looks like I'll be watching with a little excitement and hope that they win... as long as it's not against the ABs 😂🤝🏾

    Uso, do your thing, don't listen to the negative bullshit coming your way. Concentrate on your game. Jealousy is a very bad thing. Good luck man. 😊😊😮😮😊😊😮😮😅😢

    Who knows, maybe these might ignite an interest in league vs. union or a hybrid rugby match.

    Its long been a big weakness for the rugby union that the league scouts poach all the kids that play union for the Australian school boys and the ARU cannot do anything about it, they simply do not have the funds. The issue is clearly a financial one, the need some sort of trust fund back by a philantropist to help with this issue. Twiggy Forest you there???

      Lmao so an nrl team pays for a kid to go to a rugby school where they play their first game of rugby and then when those same kids go back to league it’s because they’ve been poached? I’ll smoke what you’re smoking

    The best part of this interview is when he proved that a private school education develops a quality person. His family have been so integral to this. But take a bow Kings, the Roosters and all those coaches who are a part of his process. Joseph. Take your time and stay true.
