So good to see so many positive comments about Rugby Union in the comments section. It’s time we all support our country no matter what. Go the Wallabies .
They are certainly not a franchise . The Wallabies are a brand . They have won two world cups and have had super stars such as the Ella brothers, Campese , John Eales , Gregan and even the Great League king Wally Lewis played rugby at junior level . Unfortunately the brand “ Wallabies” has taken a hit due to poor mismanagement by its former bosses. Hopefully with the new RA chairman coming in to the fold and setting up of a high performance centre ( under the tutelage of David Nucifora ) Rugby in Australia will hopefully be back to its glory days but yes I agree it will take awhile longer to get there .
I love NRL, love the red V till I die, but the Wallabies were my first love. The world misses an elite Wallabies. He was fucking box office over the weekend
Very good insightful interview, great to see another kid from the mighty Western Suburbs of Sydney playing for the Wallabies. I hope he inspires many other kids from that area to follow and get into the game.
What a true gentleman. Your parents should be proud. It's 2024, times have changed, elite rugby athletes are more prepared and ready to make the transition to the top level than ever in history! It's happened now, it was absolutely incredible, it's history! Give him his flowers!!! Well deserved. God bless you Joseph! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
Chasing Joey Suali’i is the ARU’s one good decision since the Izzy Folau saga. Such a humble human, a wonderful talent and a man you can build that Wallabies backline around leading into the Lions Tour and RWC2027 #GetItJoey🔥
He's a good man and a great player. Had the privilege of watching him live at Old Trafford playing for Samoa at full back in the rugby league world cup against the Kangaroos as a 19 year old. He acquited himself well that day against a most talented Kangaroos rugby team including Cleary, Mitchell, Munster, Wighton, Holmes etc. No wonder he found it smooth slotting into rugby union and galvanizing the Wallabies.
So great for Rugby in Australia that a star like this is playing. League is fantastic in this country, we know that, would be great for our wallabies to be at the elite level again though. Hopefully he inspires more to play and that the Wallabies can get back to where they were in the glory days. Loving the support we have had from the English, South Africans and more importantly the New Zealand fans, who are spurring Australia on to be great again. Would be great for the game. Love your work Joseph, it's great to see a buzz in Rugby Union in this country again.
Agreed it would be outstanding for Australia to be in good shape for the Lions tour. Pipping England at Twickenham was a great step, and this young man played such a big part.
It's amazing listening to Joey talk, so mature for a 21 year old as there are alot of 21 year olds out there that can't even put 2 words together. Hopefully to see him 1 day back in the Red White & Blue of the mighty Roosters
I’ll never forget Joesph and what he did for his small Samoa nation at the wc 2022 honestly played way beyond his years. He was a wrecking ball unstoppable and fearless. I really wish him well in union and when you are done with success there hope you can come back to league and fulfill unfinished business with toa at the next wc.

I'm a biased AB supporter but I'm really happy for Joseph and what he's been able to achieve so far. Sounds like a great kid, definitely has a ton of natural ability. Looking fwd to following his career.
There's absolutely no certainty questions around him leading with captaincy the Wallabies to there third world cup. Him and Sititi are the future of this sport as we watch the South Africans and Irish Shrink into there familiar still old irrelevance.
Great first game young man. What a young gun. Stellar game. Lots of X factor like SBW The player of the match was Angus Bell though. Dude was an absolute beast. Just saying.
Wow, Thank you Mark for another amazing interview, they just get better. Followed you due to your invaluable financial insights, but love you more with these diverse and amazing interviews. I actually served you as my customer in retail about 4 years ago, and yes you were a gentleman and respectful. These interviews bring the best out of people. I can see Australia realise there is a vast Pacific Island community living in Australia, very family oriented, rich in culture and sport. And can definitely make an impact in all sports when given the chance. Sua'ali'i name was pronounced correctly by you, thank you for that as I've heard mispronunciations of some Pasifika names. It's just knowing the vowels, "aeiou" for those who struggle. I didn't realise Joseph was a high jumper, makes so much sense and definitely suited to rugby 7s, and he can travel, which is his passion so win/win. Loved his performance against England. Man of the match in his first international game. Can't wait to see more rugby games. I've always been a union supporter, so good to see the Wallabies growth under new Coach. Exciting times ahead :)

Great interview, but even as a union watching pom. Suggesting the poaching from league to union has only been one way is a bit daft. Plenty of league players had a union background. Just the flow of talent and opportunity. Wallabies needed all the help they can get and this young lad is definitely helping.
As a kiwi, I've always been an avid Wallabies hater 😂 but now that the uso is playing for the green and gold, looks like I'll be watching with a little excitement and hope that they win... as long as it's not against the ABs 😂🤝🏾
Uso, do your thing, don't listen to the negative bullshit coming your way. Concentrate on your game. Jealousy is a very bad thing. Good luck man. 😊😊😮😮😊😊😮😮😅😢
Its long been a big weakness for the rugby union that the league scouts poach all the kids that play union for the Australian school boys and the ARU cannot do anything about it, they simply do not have the funds. The issue is clearly a financial one, the need some sort of trust fund back by a philantropist to help with this issue. Twiggy Forest you there???
Lmao so an nrl team pays for a kid to go to a rugby school where they play their first game of rugby and then when those same kids go back to league it’s because they’ve been poached? I’ll smoke what you’re smoking
