It's Sunday September 25, 2022 at 8:53 PM. I'm at college right now, and I have classes tomorrow. Last Friday, I missed my class to watch the United States lose to Japan 2-0. There's a lot of concern about our number 9 position and our defense. Lot of people are criticizing the team, the head coach. But sometimes when I feel this way, I come back to this video and watch the last two minutes. Through the lows and highs, I will always follow this US Soccer program. Why? It's cuz I'm American and this group showcases the fighting spirit. Why am I writing this? Well it's simple. It's to come back 4 or 5 months from now and reflect back. When we make the quarters, there's gonna be a lot of people hopping on the bandwagon. This message is proof that I was here 5 months before it happened and I will continue to be with this program.
Today is Thursday December 8th, 3:30 PM. Tomorrow the US were supposed to play in the quarterfinal against Argentina. But they aren't. It's the Dutch :( Sometimes I wonder to myself when will we have the run that Morocco had, or that Costa Rica had in 2014, or even better: Croatia in 2018? Maybe the answer is Never, but I hope that is not the case. I'm 20 years old and I will likely see more world cups (hopefully at least 15). In this time, I want to see the States win the entire thing. I thought 2022 would be the year where we would make it to the quarters, but my hopes were squashed. I guess that's football (can't even call it soccer anymore). Hopefully, this team will make me proud at some point in my life. Didn't happen in my childhood and it likely won't happen in my youth. Maybe I've got to wait 40 more years for it to happen, but hopefully it happens. I BELIEVE!
Wow!!! Great video!! I haven't been this excited about US soccer in a while. The talent pool is deep. 2022 is going to be a good one, but come 2026 with our core players at their peak WC champions is not far fetched!!!

I love seeing how even players who have a minimal chance of making the WCQ roster are bought in and giving themselves to the program and culture. To be able to give so many their debut and play so many throughout the year is an accomplishment in and of itself, growing the program upwards AND outward. Sure, the short term focus has been on prepping for Qatar, but they've been able to do that while bringing a crazy amount of new players into the fold, which will surely pay dividends over the next 4 years leading up to 2026. Can't wait to see who makes it onto the Qatar roster - almost as much as what this team will look like when current young stars are in prime years and players we haven't even heard about yet in 2022 are coming into the fold. Fun time to be a US fan, even with the occasional bumps and growing pains.
All great but Gregg keeps bringing players that do not preform well players that don’t have the capability to complete “vertical” movements, players that have a few too many touches and choose to make safe sideways and backwards passes leaving out players like Joe Scally who have been preforming at a high level out because they don’t know the system. Well the Gregg system sucks sometimes, how many times have we watched games pulling our hair out on the edge of our seats this year. Not looking forward to doing that again in 2022
As a Canadian, congratulations on a wild year and an exciting resurgence… but we’re finally - FINALLY - good too, so watch out 😎 Hoping we have lots of CAN-USA classics in the future!
