Seriously this guy especially later in his career when people start picking their opponents a little bit was a straight savage. Kill or be killed. The silva knockout in pride, the wars with shogun, knocking out Fedor as basically a light heavyweight. What a f****g killer
Hendo is one of my favorite fighters of all time. His power is the stuff of legends, as was his chin until the very end of his career. The man won a fight where his jaw was broken in the first round. Hendo is as tough as an old boot.
Josh Thompson was just talking about how hendo visited AKA and he was tearing up koscheck, fitch and those guys. Either bob or Javier was telling him to take it easier on the guys, and hendo’s response was “I’m not hitting that hard”. 😂
Henderson was definitely a bad ass, but I grew up watching Chuck Liddell and his hands were crazy. He didn’t look like a fighter, he looks like one of those bar room guys you throw into a ring for $50 and try his best to take on the pro. Put an orange vest on Chuck and he would be the guy doing drywall. He didn’t look the part. But his hands ..the slightest tap and guys go night night.
Decision Dan was before the pride days when he fought for rings. The name would come up from time to time in pride based on a couple of questionable split decisions. But he was knocking dudes out in pride. His KO of Renzo was his second pride fight which was brutal. But he also ko'ed Shoji, bustamante, chonan, gono, just to name a few.
Glad you had this guy on. I’ve become a big fan of Dans. Hes a naturally humble guy with tremendous talent. Its always nice to see a badass be a genuinely good person. They make good hero’s.
To anyone who doesn't know who this man is. One of the toughest dudes to ever fight in mma and p4p one of the hardest punchers, first mma double champ and knockouts in 3 weight classes
Dude started his career with 4 tournaments, fighting twice in one night for the first three and three times in one night the last one. He beat Gilbert Yvel, Big Nog and Babalu in Japan in the fourth tourney all in one night. Tourneys were insane, nothing like them in modern mma, oldschool UFC and Pride tourneys were peak mma.
It was a different animal lol. I always felt like the fights were generally faster without the cage, too - you didn’t have significant parts of the round taken up by guys pressing each other into the cage. Idk if it was pride gloves but it also felt like dudes could absorb so much damage back then and keep banging
7:50 Legendary Hendo. The way he retells that story and ends it with a simple "so...yeah..." like its a casual thing to happennin his career is insane. Dude was always legit and true to the core

Dan was missing most of his teeth from bar fights. He was a true blue fighter, not just an amazing athlete. Guy liked to fight. Most of these guys dont like to fight, they just know they can make a lot of money doing it. Dan likes to fight.
I just saw that fight hendo did really good , he rocked quinton multiple times and quinton couldn't hurt him and even rag dolled him in the wrestling it was more rampages activity that got him the win but hendo did very good
Shoutout to Mauro Ranallo for coining Dan's overhand right "The H-Bomb" during the Babalu fight in Strikeforce. Dan ended up finishing Babalu with a couple of flush H-Bombs from standing top position. The sounds of the punches are still traveling around the planet today.
One of the greatest honors in combat sports is to have a technique you use be given a name. Having an overhand right known as "The H-Bomb" is something different than a title, than a great resume. It's legendary
Love Hendo. Still remember his KO of Bisping at UFC 100 like it was yesterday. Was introduced to the UFC n MMA as a whole that night. Been a fan ever since. Man’s a living legend. 💯💐
Wow......I am a long time boxing fan - didn't get into UFC till 2017/8........ but this guy is legit. He doesn't need to big himself up or deny his shortcomings - the facts speak for themselves. Real af. Can't loose these characters
Trained at his gym for years, met and even trained with most of the pros but never actually met Dan. I would see him from time to time but he's so unassuming and low key. I've heard some stories though. One of the best to ever do it.
Makes sense. I coached boxing for a while & one guy that walked in having never trained & was a collegiate shot putter. Dude had skull breaking power. I felt it in all the joints in my upper body. Lol
Me and my brother use to hate on Hendo so much 😂 old ass dude knocking out the young guys we were riding at the the time , but as I'm older now I realize how great he is. I remember before the fedor fight he said " just because he's bigger doesn't mean he's better " and went out there and slept fedor
Absolute legend. Outside the ko's of bisping (which was one of the most brutal ko in mma ) wanderlei and the fedor ko. The knockout of hector Lombard was nasty af and doesn't get discussed enough.
Had a buddy that was 5'8", saw him knock out multiple guys growing up. He was fast, but he was also aware of chi energy and punching through peoples' face. That explosiveness and accuracy (gotta put it on the button) is what counts. Hendo got it.
Yeah Strickland caught Izzy with timing and that's why he got rocked. Wasn't a real hard shot but was very well placed and timed where Izzy didn't see it coming
I was always gifted with punching speed and okay power when throwing combos but never one punch power, even though I was strong and always lifted and I had trained for Boxing for most of my life but the past few years I've gained one punch power that no one in the gym comes close to so don't think that you can't gain a lot of punching power because you might be able to. Keep training hard. What helps me the most is well rounded lifting with dumbbells, heavy and heavy enough high rep back workouts are the gym lifts that help the most with punching power, especially rows. The heavy bag is what helps me more than anything. The best boxing tool ever created. Nothing else comes close to creating as much punching power or muscular endurance for punching so hit the back at least once or twice a week.
Ahah I was born with nuclear power in my right but terrible speed in my left from young shoulder injuries. Chopping wood helps big time. It's not just the speed or heaviness of the punch but maximizing the point of impact with your own kinetic motion. Activities like swinging an axe or throwing a baseball aid in realizing the snap needed to induce sleep.
I never was a boxer but I trained a few times with my buddy that was. After like two days he told me my right hook to the body was very strong. I have no idea why, never trained that punch in my life. Being gifted with stuff like that is very weird.
@@polymathingShavers said that what made his punch strong was his work as a lumberjack, Foreman also worked as a lumberjack and had a sledgehammer in his hands.
Hendo. One of the old school badasses. Fight anybody at any weight.
He would have _smeshed Khamzat_ back in the day for making all that noise bruh :)
@@DailyCorvidmaybe not bro.

Yeah man that fight he had with big nog. Cracked him so hard but big nog was invincible at the time.
One of the baddest ever.

That Fedor ko was huge. I'm pretty sure Fedor outweighed him by 29lbs.
omfg thanks for reminding me about the fedor one that was an insane reversal to the tko
totally dude. _100%_ right
You forgot the vicious bisping KO
@@mikebilly4599 That KO felt so fuckin good to watch too lmao bisping was a cunt back then

I remember the close up of Babalus face when he was on the ground after getting KOd. He was somewhere deep in Bolivian.
Punched his head through the canvas 👏🏻 I remember that one too
True legendary power. I never missed a fight card he was on.
Dan looks like the drawing of a man I would make at my first realistic drawing lesson
Henderson, Rumble, and Ngannou are the three scariest KO artists in UFC history
Hendo an all-time legend - he's on my MMA Mt Rushmore..
Hell yeah. He fought for the title in his last fight at age 45-46 and almost won the title in a fight of the night. Dan Henderson is not human.

Hendo's flying hammer on poor Bisping is one of the nastiest, and most satisfying, moments in MMA.
