More blue collar workers. Tired of these tech nerds, bitcoin millionaires, rappers, comedians, billionaires, influencers, actors. We need more people like this guy, the ones who keep America running and doesn’t get appreciated.
Theo is literally a comedian. And when does he have tech nerds and bitcoin millionaires on the show?
I don't get that appreciation shit... No one literally no one except for rare exceptions like police or medical personnel when they save your life do they ever get thanked. This dude is an asshole, like too many people nowadays... He gets it rough from people so he gets an attitude and takes it out on others... and the cycle perpetuates.. Like he doesn't seem to think there's a problem with collecting garbage at 6am, among other things... he has zero self awareness. I mean shit we all want praise but what he does just isn't any more important than any other job in the grand scheme so why does he deserve it, when the rest of us don't.

Absolutely! I really hope this becomes a more regular part of the show or even a spin off podcast he does because they are so fascinating and real. Theo also is a great person to host them like this because he has great questions that are genuine.

My Dad was a garbage man, my 2 uncle's are still in the trucks. They had their own company for a while, then Waste Management bought them out and gave them jobs. They are going on 30 years with WM. They both run front loaders now. But I remember being a kid working with them in the summers as a thrower. Fun job hanging off the back of the truck, sucked some days but that's most jobs! Respect 🙏🏽

I don’t know about most fun but they are more interesting. Some of the comedians are actually good at being funny believe it or not.
This isn't a regular dude. Regular dudes are trying to get his job to this day. Regular dudes are at some random warehouse knowing good and damn well they gonna work till the day they die. This dude has a retirement plan 😅😅😅
And Theo kills 'em! He has this astounding ability to talk with strangers like he's known them for years AND talk with people he's known for years as if he's meeting them for the first time. It does something magical in the atmosphere of the interview.

Theo, I was a fan before this. But after hearing this I’m a huge fan. I am also a garbage/recycle man. It was a real treat hearing a real person being spoken to about real things.

I volunteer to pick up garbage around the city and our apartments. This was a real eye-opener. Sadly, bottles are not recycled. I really respect this guy for what he has done. This job is hazardous waste, ( think needles, foil with fentanyl, adult diapers with pooh poop on them, shards of glass, pee in water bottles, used condoms, etc etc). My granddaughter loves the garbage man, she greets him often. One time he even came back with a gift for her. You guys have one of those jobs where no one really notices until it starts backing up. Thank you for all the hard work, good luck with your future.
These interviews are Theo's best podcast work in my opinion. Absolutely fascinating and these people all carry on a great conversation just as well as any famous guest.
Theo is in his own genre of podcast with regular blue collar people like this. Working class finally getting some respect, wouldn't expect less from a southern man.
I love that Theo does these. I find them way more interesting than listening to a comedian who's just doing the rounds to promote their new special.

I have a friend that's a garbage man and he works 6 days a week and only gets x-mas and New Year's Day off and works 10 hours a day in Broward County, FL. Sorry but I am not buying his 2-3 hour days.

Honestly my favourite podcast episode ever. I worked briefly as a garbage sorter as a recycling plant, and we sometimes envied the guys on the trucks.
Still a tough job, but they saw the city, fresh air, and we stood on the line sorting the crap from the recycling. Love ya fellas

I often think about the human history that is lost because historians only discuss people “relevant/significant” to current society. Conversations like this help ease my mind as I realize there are still people interested in and documenting the life of the average or unnoticed people in society. Wayne was such a great guest. Genuine is the key word. Theo is just being himself. Most podcasts want the guest to be a big celeb or a scientist… Theo just genuinely wants to chat about garbage disposal with someone who knows how it works
As a NYC civil servant, I appreciate this interview. i don't work for DSNY but I'm one of the mechanics that repairs and maintains the largest municipal fleet in the country. We certainly have stories too.
This dude is awesome. Strange how this is one of the best interviews Theo has done. Dude is super relatable.
It’s weird that so many talk shows and media organizations only talk to the big names, as if somehow they have a better story to tell than guys who are working in the cruddiest, most interesting, most important industries in this country. Please keep doing more of this!

I love that Theo does these. I’m a native NY’er and we love our sanitation workers. It’s crazy how technical schools, civil service jobs pay more than 4-6 yr degrees. My husband went to tech school and he started at 6 figures and my 6 yr degree started nowhere near that.
What was your 6 year degree in? Business? 😂😂
NYC garbage men start off at like $40k a year, which for that cost of living is poverty wages

That picture of the split garbage truck had me questioning my vision. I was like damn, it’s time I get my eyes checked out. Nope. It’s just a split garage truck. Recycle on one side & landfill on the other. Lol.
