The GRIND Finally PAID OFF...! 😀 (Connecticut Fishing Session)

- Опубликовано: 6 сен 2024
- January 8th & 9th, 2020 (session 7 & 8) -- This video is all over the place (see end of video for more details)!!! For my 2nd & 3rd day in Connecticut, Rowan, Noah, and I hopped multiple fishing spots in search of different Species of fish. The grind was real...and the grind paid off! Read more about it below:
Did you know that...?
👨🏼🔧 ...Rowan has 142 different species/hybrids/subspecies on his lifelist? He actually counts hybrids & subspecies, since he appreciates the individuality and uniqueness of every fish sample out there. Nothing wrong with that!!! Check out his blog for a few of his lifers: flyfishingcts.b.... You may want to consider supporting him on Patreon as well: / ctflyangler . I SUPPORT his Patreon at the $10 tier, and I encourage YOU to support him if you enjoy his work/Blog.
👨🏼🔧 ...Both days of fishing, the air temperature was below 32F. On the last day, the air temperature reached 21F, which is equivalent to -6 degrees Celsius. In my entire fishing career, that was one of the COLDEST days that I have ever fished in, beating the previous record of 23F that I did with 1Rod1ReelFishing at Lake Kittamaqundi a few years back. 🥶
👨🏼🔧 ...This was my first time ever fishing in the state of Connecticut! As a matter of fact, this is the first year that I got the "Connecticut All Waters" fishing license, which covers all waters in Connecticut, as well as the saltwater in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine due to reciprocity. EPF ALWAYS fishes a state AFTER obtaining a fishing license for it! P.s. always support your local wildlife agencies.

Good video, this place is wonderful has beautiful fish congratulations your fishing was amazing!
hug and good fishing.👍🎣🐠🐟
Leo head back under that bridge in late August for some nice striper action! Or head up north just 20 minutes and the number of freshwater species just explodes. I know you are all about conservation, please check out the CT river history it is an amazing story of an ecology that has made a great rebound in the last 50 years. When I moved to Philly people adamantly told me (public perception) never eat fish out of the schuylkill... I was blown away because in CT we had great appreciation for the health of the waterway and its inhabitants
Winter fishing can be really rough. If it was easy then it wouldn't be nearly as much fun. When the fishing is bad at least you can enjoy the locations and the company because it's so much easier to deal with when there are others with you than when you have to grind through it alone.
Proof that fishing doesnt always go as planned. Sometimes it's horrible, sometimes things go as planned and once in a while magic happens and fishing exceeds all expectations.
That awkward moment when you scream HEYYYY WHATSUPPP YOUUTTUUUUBE, and realize your the only one saying it :(

The Banded Killifish is the preferred food of the Invasive non native Snakeheads.
Instead of eating young bass they are feeding on Banded Killifish, which is going through a population boom. Interesting that at least in some areas the Snakehead may have found a niche to fill.
Years ago on Vancouver Island we used to catch Tommy Cod around kelp beds close to the shoreline. Not very good eating unless you smoke them
Catch many brown trout on Vancouver Island, I'm in lower mainland
I enjoy you vids. Thank you.
Hey! That's my state. I recognized the spots you were at. Yeah, the fishing sucks in winter and we have more fallfish than people but what can you do.
Used to catch 20-30 crab Blue Crabs from that very spot.. back in the day.. DEP Dock is across from this spot.. another excellent spot for everything from flounder to striper
Might have started tough but I’m happy to see some action! The trout were awesome 🤠
It’s probably the timing , like late in the season
No one died and you didn't lose your pole. It was a good day of fishing. 😉😁
Good stuff Leo! you gutted it out in some cold temps.
External Philly fishing the type of guy to know more species than the locals
If you want Tom Cod try fishing (Latham Park in West Barrington) or (Barrinton Beach) Or white church bridge in Barrington on massasoit ave.. #4 hooks with small tiny piece of squid tinny...
Leo, I live in CT and can give to an awesome hookup on wild Brooke trout and holdover striped bass. There are also some broomstick salmon in the Shetucket River.
How can he come to ct and not fish it for what it's special for? Those guys didn't know what they were doing.
Their is snow on the dock because the water is colder than the air so their is cold air keeping the snow from melting aka lake affect
Is not a general plan of travel moving upstream usually considered the better idea in terms of catching fish? Downstream, of course, is much better when lost in the wilderness and looking for rescue, as long as spooking trout is of lesser concern.
You are kind of right. Walking upstream spooks less fish, but working a fly downstream is easier for me
Time to go back to Florida I guess
Hey Leo... I just wanted to thank you for showing me how much fun it can be to fish in the winter time. This is my first year trying it. I live in Ohio. Not many people I know fish up here in the winter months Love the videos man...
The fallfish was a new species for me this year and fun to catch on light tackle. Chin up, dude!
Could you make a video of all the places you have been to maybe with a big map and and you pin the places you've been to
I'm going to start a life list this year. I never really thought about it before but it is pretty cool. I'm going to have to look up the name of a lot of fish but I love learning new things and you have taught me quite a bit.
Dude you need to get back to my turf, W. FL Come catch some Snook off the beach with me.😁
#bringbacktheintro
go EPF!!!!
If it was good every day, it would never be GREAT. Life requires us to suffer in order to fully appreciate the gifts.
In my hood 👍🏽🔥
Great video Leo, the yodeling in the drain, priceless.
Tom cod was my 1st species when i fished the ocean in NFL. We got a few over 20" and close to 4lbs, they hit small hunks of worm we were using for Cunner. No worries Leo youll get one.
Winter fishing open water is no joke. Those spots would be juicy in the spring
crazy never seen that much snow in florida !!
lol
Did you teach the guy how to handle trout off camera
Great video. I can’t find open water within a 100 miles
Why is that guy holding that Brown like a Bass? 😂😂😂
Keep grinding them out brother! Only fished 2 days in 2020 so far, the warm weekend in NJ. Day one ,chain pickeral and 2 rainbow trout, day 2 skunksville.
What was that 'H' in the tunnel light? EPF easter egg??
wow what a tough trip. Hopefully PA will give ya something good like a surprise madtom. :D
Why is there a random h at 6:50
Hate when the grind doesn’t pay off 😱. Another banger 🦷 🥊
"yodle-a-ee-hoo... Wow." XD
Yeah now you see ct fishing struggles
Next vid with 1 Rod???????
I know exactly where that is!!! Best fishing spot in Connecticut!
Leoooooooooo
Makes me want to visit Connecticut.
Man I Love your video's.
Next time you visit CT, Fish the Housatonic River
I fished that same spot a few months ago
Quit letting your friends pick the spots!
Rule of thumb , when it’s cold in our area (Philly) head SOUTH to fish . I’ll be in south Fla next month. Hit me up if you’re headed down

WHAT UP EPF!!
Why are they playing pot ads on a epf video.
I do a lot of city limit fishing on creeks and rivers, and the fear of one day coming across a corpse is very real - especially since there are often homeless encampments about. This year I did come across a half-eaten deer corpse within city limits of Ft. Collins, CO. Unknowlingly came up on it while I was trying to keep my balance on some rocks. The surprise caused me to blaspheme and take the Lord's name in vain loudly.
pls say he catches a sculpin
Wassup EPF

Fishing in New England in winter? Is the ultimate coin toss. It can be great one day? Have a front move thru and crapped out the next! Come here in spring and summer
You should do a collab with creek fishing adventures, that would be awesome. Tight lines 🤙🎣🤘
