Shanxi area Xingyi Quan stlye- Yue Shi Ba Fan Shou routine, showing only the first 8 rows with usage applications (24 rows in total).
Demonstrator: Zhang Xi Gui. Among his teachers were Hao Xue Ru, a student of Sheng Zi Rong, of Ba Fan Shan style. Both of these teachers had studied under Wang Xin Wu. His Ba Fan came from Ji Zi Xiu. From Liu ShiJun. He is expert in Xing Yi, Long Fist, Short Fist, Bagua Zhang, Taijiquan and whip stick .
Why are the movements of these sets also found done same way in form and function in:
- Yang Tao JI Yi Lu,
- Wu tai ji Quan
- the tong bei sets that Dr. Yan has been talking about that came from Henan in Dong Cheng's linage
- Tai Zhu Chang Quan
- Shaolin Rou Quan?
Wang Xin Wu's book "Yue Shi Ba Fan Shou" discusses the origins.
Wang's teacher, Ji Zixiu , was the first to combine the Ba Fan Shou and Yang Ban Hou style Taiji. In the early 19th Century, Wang Xin Wu studied Ba Fan Shou and Yang style taiji from Ji Zixiu, Xu Yusheng, and Wu Jian Quan (founder of Wu's style taiji)! [Wang Xinwu (1890-1964) learned from Xu Yusheng (1879-1945) (who learned from Yang Jianhou), son of Yang Luchan (1799-1872).
So, Wang further modified the Ba Fan Shou with Wu and Yang tai ji movements.

yes, true. But, the first 8 are the same in various lineages, the rest are not. Every lineage seems to do the rest of the rows differently. So that means the first 8 rows are the original ones and the others were added on later over time.

I not sure 2nd part and final part form is it add on later by other master... Wait until I receive (mail order) the book regarding this arts, then from the history info there find it out... But as I knew, this arts is only complete combine with three part of forms. By the way, you learn this arts from a master?
