We have the same car. Bought mine in the UK last summer for £1150. It’s absolutely EPIC. Best car I’ve ever owned. Did a road trip from France to the North of Scotland in 2019 in my 2001 150hp VW T4 California. Amazing. I’d love to do it again in the Aero, maybe in 2024… I f*****g LOVE Scotland.
Great video Dougie, my favourite pastime of all is taking a road trip. The only thing better than a road trip, is a road trip raising money for good causes. I think I may have to take a trip up the road and check out the Cannon Bawz run next year ❤.

As I'm currently preparing my 1990 Opel Vectra A 2.0i GT for a roadtrip through Scotland with RallyRiders this summer, this was great to watch. Summer can't be here quickly enough :D
i used to run to Scotland weekly from Caernarfon, with up to 7 drops from Glasgow up to Peterhead and Inverness and reload from Fort William with timber for the north west.Nice to see you run on the Inverness road thought i recognised Macduff.
I picked up my 2004 Aero automatic estate for £1150 in Summer 2022, did a Maptun E85 stage 1 remap and drove it home to France. It now has (in theory) 250bhp when running 100% Ethanol and 265hp on unleaded. I must get around to filling it with unleaded sometime to See, but E85 is half the price of unleaded in France, so that test will have to wait for the next time I return to the UK. I absolutely adore this car, it really brings out the hooligan in me, especially when pulling away from motorway toll booths. Nothing like smoking Audis and BMW’s. Childish I know…
The guy in Blue near the end looks like John Candy but with glasses , coincidence John was in Cannonball Fever which was the 3rd movie in the franchise , it was one of the funniest too lol
Caught Dougie taking a longing look at the beer that guy was holding....... The end looked like a real chill out zone pity you couldnt stay and have some beers.

When did you have it? Someone gave it a fair bit of love after it was won on Geoff Buys Cars, if it wasn't for that and then me getting it and doing more I think it would have had it. I've just had the sump off three times to try and fix an oil leak 😂
@@OnceDrivenForeverSmitten it was me that won it from gbc, i spent a fair bit on it , new turbo, suspension etc, it was in a state when i got it (not geoffs fault) but it was one project to many for me so i sent it to WB auction 😢

I also have an areo the life has been drove out off mine they are a great going car ,my back box was stuffed I thought the turbo was gone it turned out to be the box ,anyway this looks like fun
Bloody GM. The problem is old Sven and Lars nodded wisely every time GM told them to cheap out by using GM parts, but as soon as the yanks had gone home they just carried on doing what they wanted 😂. We really must hang onto our Saabs. The only cars built by trolls.
NC 500? Sometimes not what it seems. You can spend hours staring at somebody's push-bike, strapped to the back of a motorhome - which, paradoxically, will probably have the word "Swift" or "Rapido" written on it. Can be the road-trip to disappointment. Good luck.
