Great car. Owned a black 3 door for three years. Bought one in 2014 for £9500 with 45k miles, sold it three years later for £9000 with 60k miles. Unreal sound on them, and to be fair i raced a new s3 and lucky if he got about 3 car lengths on me on the straights. They are still quick gave new shape s3 s a run for their money anyway and a porsche carrera once. 👍

At the moment I don't have much room for the one car I have but don't doubt the money I have sunk into my own "nostalgia" I have owned many of the cars I used to love when I was younger, Saab 93 hot edition, Vectra v6, Alfa 156 GTA to name a few. Barns are just a little hard to come buy around my neck of the woods haha

One of my Favorite Cars. The DSG + VR6 is the best combo ever, plus AWD! I love the wheels this one has, and we only got the 2 door here in the US. I have an Audi A3 Sline which is the same setup as this R32. Love it!
The VR6 is one of best sounding 6 cylinder engines and honestly one of the best sounding engines in general imo. Plus, it's an incredibly good engine regardless of the sound. I wanted to get an R32 but I had to settle with a GTI as my first car since I couldn't find any for sale within my price range. wish they would bring back the R32.

road tax is a killer and not getting any cheaper I am looking to buy a honda s2000 should have bought it a few years back getting expensive now. At least depreciation is not an issue and values of quality used cars have never been better.
You can get a lower tax band model as in video but rare tho. £315 a year! Insurance is between £400-£500 but depends on postcode, age, no claims bonus. Mpg is a high but again depends on driving style as you get that superb sound on cruising speeds too. Servicing I always go to a VW specialist not VW stealerships.
I own 2 my self love them the sound of them are beautiful they do drink a lot though but and defo not the quickest but it’s an iconic engine ! Getting a golf r next but will miss the noise of the 32 - if you check my page I uploaded 2 videos of one of them

Slowly falling in love with the R32 modern hatchbacks all sound the same and if anything too quick, plus most german 4 pots sound the same, this is a proper car that you can enjoy without losing your license
I have a mk5 r32 and I love it, the sound off it is amazing. I have a cat back milltek non resonated exhaust and it's loud. Ps4's just finish it off and keep you pinned to the road.

Great video. That r32 is very loud! try a proper manual I like driving mine just for the sound. Stay in first gear at 30mph sounds mint plus your not braking the speed limit😅. I'm actually considering getting a switched exhaust so I have the option of quiet or loud.
Damn that's difficult to answer man! I'll say if you're about pops and bangs, then you'll prefer the 2.5L 5 cylinder RS3. With the R32 you get the mighty sound of a 3.2L Naturally Aspirated 6 cylinder engine. Both are sound really good

Yeah it is too loud kinda spoils the vr6 vibe a bit, I wouldn't want to live with it like that would get annoying would want a switch to turn it down

APR tune, DSG reflash, an AWD LSD and that car would be done. Unless the owner wants to over the edge and do a turbo kit pushing over 500 whp.
Only reason to buy one is the sound swore for years I would never get a mk6 or 7 R until I got a mk5 and I’m don’t have one single regret getting it😎
