    There was some talk about CP Mette Marit having neck problems and being prone to severe headaches which contributed to her choices in wearing small hats and lightweight tiaras. Given that background and her colouring, the amethysts are a perfect choice for her. I love how the pieces can mix and match in different ways so that she can get extra mileage.

    I love this lightweight Amethyst Tiara. Although the gemstones are on the small size, they very symmetrical and lovely shade of purple. I love amethysts. Deep purple amethysts. The design of this tiara is lovely, delicate, sparkly, and a comfortable looking tiara. It goes well with Mette-Maritt’s blonde hair and blues eyes. She glows with this tiara. 👍🥰❤️

      @@RoyalFashionNews I was in a phase where I thought diamonds were pretentious and evil! Didn’t realize amethysts were so cheap & soft til mine cracked. So the joke was on me! Lol 😂 Silly phase anyway! I’m scouring the Analucia website lately!!! Safe diamonds! I’d take a Canadian diamond too now!!! I know you’re in partnership with Analucia, but Ross Simons Diamond Nexus has such a bigger selection of lab grown diamonds in larger carats, too. ♥️ Obviously more expensive, but, oh so beautiful!!!

    The Amethyst Tiara is so pretty and very versatile...
    I do have to ask you, why you say that the Norwegian Royal Family is so closely related to Sweden?
    For almost 500 years Denmark and Norway were intertwined politically.
    Norway then wanted their well deserved independence and after the Napoleonic Wars, received it.
    However they needed assistance at a later date and joined with Sweden in an alliance for approx. 90 years with a shared King.
    At the turn of the century, in 1905 Norway became independent from Sweden and wanted to choose their own king.
    The Norwegian Royal Family was then 'given' Prince Carl, son of King Frederik VIII of Denmark, who then became Haakon VII.
    So over the centuries, Denmark and Norway, have had much more in common then with Sweden.
    hello from Denmark 🌸

    • @AnnaLenaGbg
      @AnnaLenaGbg 8 месяцев назад +1

      ...but the majority of their tiaras come from the Swedish royal house (from the Bernadotte family) (Queen Josephine and Queen Sofia). A few others came to Norway with Queen Maud of England (who was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria) but none (as far as I know) came from Denmark, they kept their tiaras to themselves.😉

    Sorry to say, but there are no pearls in this tiara. It's Amethysts and Diamonds. As in the matching rest of the parure. Also, to say amethysts would be gemstones of less value is a bit presumptuous, imho. There are enough diamonds surrounding the amethysts here to make it a truly stunning and precious piece. What can be said, however, is that amethysts might be sourced/mined a little more frequently than rubies, sapphires, or emeralds. It doesn't make them second class jewellery, however.

      @RoyalFashionNews  8 месяцев назад +1

      The Brits did have one, but it was sold by Queen Mary. I don’t remember Elizabeth really wearing amethysts, but she may have one set. Thanks for watching!!

    • @dorisschneider-coutandin9965
      @dorisschneider-coutandin9965 8 месяцев назад

      QE II owned a so called "demi-parure" made of amethysts. It includes earrings, a stunningly huge necklace, two haircombs, and some brooches (to be worn with or without pendants). The demi-parure (and mainly the brooch QE II did wear frequently) also goes under the name "The Kent Amethysts". And demi-parure because there is no matching tiara to go with it. QE II paired the Kent Amethysts therefore mainly with the GoGB&I tiara.

    How dare you say that amethyst is a less valuable stone?! It’s my birthstone and I absolutely love it! When the Princess heard that you had hurt my feelings in this cruel way, she immediately had it packaged up and sent ( postage due, of course) to me to make me feel better! I was going to invite you to dinner to show you how fabulous my new tiara looks on me, but since you were so rude about the cost of the stones, I changed my mind! Well, if you’re just going to whine about it, I guess you can come to the second dinner with lower class people. Someone wanted me to invite nutmeg and ginger, but the cost of extra security to follow sticky fingered nutmeg around all night was astronomical!! So I suppose the only question left for me to ask you is do you like Hamburger Helper???!!!!😂😂😂😂😂

    Today amethysts are less precious than some other colored gemstones.but historically amethysts where considered extremely expensive. To this day bishops in the Catholic Church wear an amethyst ring as the symbol of office.

    While I like amethysts, I don't care for this setting. Looks too much like a necklace turned into a tiara.
    The BRF had an amethyst parure curtsy of Queen Mary, of course. It was given to the Queen Mum, who never wore it . Then it was offered to QEII who refused it and it was sold at auction.
