CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The police pursue Gabriel Shear (John Travolta) in a bus that is being lifted by helicopter.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Director Dominic Sena follows up his stylish action film Gone in 60 Seconds (2000) with this high-tech thriller. John Travolta stars as Gabriel Shear, a charismatic spy who plots to steal a multi-billion-dollar fortune in illegal government funds. In order to make his scheme work, however, Gabriel needs some help from a computer hacker, which is where Stanley Jobson (Hugh Jackman) comes in. Stanley has been paroled from prison after serving a lengthy sentence for penetrating the FBI's cyber-surveillance operations. Issued a restraining order that keeps him away from computers and living penniless in a trailer park, Stanley wants only to be reunited with his daughter Holly, who's in the custody of his ex-wife, now remarried to a pornographer. Gabriel and his partner Ginger (Halle Berry) offer Stanley the chance to get his child back in exchange for his help, but the hacker soon realizes he's a pawn in a larger operation than the high-tech bank heist he thought he was perpetrating. In the meantime, a dedicated federal agent (Don Cheadle), the same man who once arrested Stanley, is trying to expose Gabriel's operation. Swordfish also stars Sam Shepard and Zach Grenier.

Just another day in Los Santos.
I don’t remember the movie being this batshit crazy
0:30 Climb Goddammit! 😂 Had me rolling on the floor!
Evan Hill Gabriel is such a bad, tough and stern villain
It's a shame this movie got so much hate. It was a great over the top action film with crazy fun special effects. I watched it at least 3 times in the theater when it released. Man that sky crane scene was amazing. You could literally feel the rumble of the rotors resonate throughout the theater. You won't get that feeling watching this on a tv!
It probably got hate for the opposite reason people don't like Crash
Both are topics of 9/11 pre and post and no one wants to be a part of the conversations
It got that much hate because they were on it. The movie exposed it. It was a political treatise. They are supposed to tell you what they are going to be doing, do that, and you're karma is clean. Cremate your care.
Everybody has something on the other guy. Posturing and manipulation. It's all getting exposed.
John
Travolta he is always amazing in every movie I know
Helicopter is from Decrane in Oregon. My dad’s company used them to set power line poles through marshy areas in Delaware. Amazing to see it up close
Movies were so good back then
@mamamia5905
Yeah what happened man? All of a sudden movies suck.
the ppl in the building..."action and excitment"...
^_^
Ah yes, the perfect way to get a school bus on the other side of New York. And the most awesome.🤘🤘🤘
Ch'kemi plaka 😜
This movie was primarily set in LA.
@@fromthehaven94 cool. How come people don't actually try buses being caried by heli's from one side of a major city to the other? That's awesome.
This movie must have been filmed entirely in a amber filter.
In the background we crapped our pants
i like this movie
Seatbelts, people. Never know when you might end up vertical a thousand feet over l.a.
I have never seen a bus with seatbelts
Ever seen this with a lambo instead of a bus?
YOU WILL.
They didn't name those buses "Flyers " for nothing I'll tell you that hahahahahaha
Good one, and that's one of the original flyers too.
0:30 Holy cow at Gabriel yelling that
This movie was greenlighted by two words, "Bus Helicopter". Lol
1:24 is comedy gold.
It’s a dark comedy
Why comedy?
@@Erosdiaz000 it’s so ridiculous and unexpected
this costed 13 milion dollars
yup
@@momomomo-bw2mw Really
Why can’t we have movies like this anymore??
Exactly 😭😭 we are now in the new world with these movies from Netflix and Amazon
Republicans can't handle them lol

@@vildachaya6462 Except Chinese movies- made by Chinese companies for Chinese audiences- are making more money than American movies altered for Chinese audiences. It's not worth it anymore.
No boss, No payment.
But what if the cops have a heli? And news crews?
Was that Vinnie Jones who fell from the bus and blew up?
Yes
I miss the 90s/early 2000s yellow tint in the action movies
Gone in 60 Seconds was yellow like this as well.
@@blueonblack83Same director
This is to much yellow.
you think there'd be multiple choppers in the air
0:53 - 0:56, some of those people who got killed in the twin tower plane crashes of the 9/11 attack definitely and probably reacted that way.😮😲
This is how real life should be.
Hell yeah.
dive
insane 😂 😂 😂
👍👍👍👍👍
9/11 scene
Swordfish was released in June of 2001. Unless you had a time machine, or powers of premonition... that's incorrect.
Funny thing, this was pulled from cinemas around the world after 9/11. It's true that it had already made most of the money it could have made by then anyway.
Party
what's with the maxican/sandy filter? I hate forced vibe.
😊
Laughable thing about this movie is that it's basically just one more big, dumb action movie that tries to up its game by tossing in half-baked "terrorist saving the world" bits out of the mouth of Travolta's character.

haven't seen this movie, but obviously the cops are chasing this helicopter. What strikes me as odd is that the LAPD has the largest air wing of any police department in the world. If that's the case, why are they chasing the bus/chopper on the ground? What am I missing here?

They obviously didn’t think it through, just like everything else. Why didn’t they hack the bank at night, when nobody is there? Why does Gabriel deliberately kill dozens of Americans in a plot to prevent terrorist attacks against Americans? How the hell is he supposed to survive his helicopter getting shot down and then somehow have people not notice him sneak out of LA? Why don’t hardened, professional criminals wear masks or gloves? Why does John Travolta seem to think that Dog Day Afternoon isn’t based on a real story? Did Gabriel consider that the helicopter he gets in at the end could just be tracked down and chased? How did nobody notice the massive cargo chopper out of nowhere?

Lol what a trash movie.
I guess Don Cheadle could be the next War Machine of the film and I can’t wait to watch Swordfish until Tomorrow or 2.

they didnt expect the bus to become airborne
+Push Back Poetic licence, I assume.
Because there is an very bad man on there with an RPG and he will use it as an depository if u keep eyeballing him...also they didn't like how an movie ended so...yeah..
The bus being carried away by the helicopter, well, it *was* on the ground, heading towards the airport by a police escort. Until it wasn't.
