Tom strikes me as an absolute gem of a person, and I thoroughly enjoy taking the time to support him and analyze his singing -- what else should I check out by Tom?? Here's another link for your new favorite t-shirt!!! onno.com/?
Neither "Creep" nor "The sound of silence" ever really touched me until...I heard Tom! It's not just his brilliant voice, it's his personality, his charisma that is deeply touching. For me the best male voice I've heard in decades! Thanks for this reaction video.
Have you seen GABRIEL HENRIQUE sing? He can do some crazy high notes. Please look at his I WANT TO TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS. Gabriel does Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion. Dimash is my favorite followed close behind by Tom Ball and Gabriel Henrique. Like the actor LUKE EVANS voice too. He has his own channel. He sang with Leanne Rimes and two other women in separate videos. Have you by the way seen Tom;s other version of this song showing a girl at a school? It is longer and very touching.
@@lynettedevries1824yes I have seen the video from the school girl. It's fantastic and very touching. Thanks for the info on the other singers but I know none will touch me like Tom Ball. But I will take a look.🤗🙏
Hello from England. I really enjoyed your commentary for this song, but what I loved even more, was your expressions when Tom was hitting those notes. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
What I like to see in your reactions to a persons music and you can’t help it but we see it and that’s when your soul is touched and the amazing outward physical response to it in expression and body language. Music is such an amazing language for most people in its own unique way for them. Again, my most favorite time is not when you’re talking and explaining, but when you’re responding nonverbally.
Tom Ball is amazing. I can't stop listening to him. I loved your analysis and reaction of his singing. I just found you and am really interested in your take on different singers.
You have to see the reason he choose this song. It say's it all on his official video of "Creep". You can tell that he felt all of that song. Thank you for your videos and information. Thank you.
What I would really like to hear is you and Tom recording a song together! Your ranges are so different and would be incredibly complimentary to the other. Two excellent instruments in tandem. How about it?
I enjoyed your analysis of both this and 'Sound of Silence'. If you haven't seen his official music video of this song you should. It's a little longer and really pulls the heart strings.
Thanks for the reaction Peter. Love listening to you. I love music am a big fan of opera and appreciate how you share your knowledge with us. Like when the cello came in, I really hadn’t noticed and then when you played it back - beautiful! I could go on…but I won’t just keep them coming.
Been watching a lot of your content lately. I studied opera, privately for just over 20 years... listening to you makes me wish I could have you for a voice teacher. I am 61 now, and it is so true, if you don't use it you lose it.... any advice for getting back in the saddle? My former teacher taught through Vaccai method.
I hope you do at least one more reaction of Tom's work. While I know that Sound of Silence and Creep are crowd favorites and certainly of mine as well...Tom's version of a very old Tom Jones song called I, Who Have Nothing really shows how powerful Tom Ball's voice is, and ends the song by channeling Dimash. A stellar performance.
Actually, when Tom recorded it, it was already a very popular song made famous actually by another great Brit, Shirley Bassey. It was a huge hit for her with her big voice, and Tom Jones was the first male singer to sing it, a couple of years later. However, it was also covered by other male singers on TV appearances, if not on records at the time. I was a radio DJ and this is one of the top songs that I spun - equal time between Shirley and Tom. Tom Ball’s version is pretty spectacular, and again he makes it his own. Such an amazing talent!
@@marlafowler3543 Don’t be sad - even if you think you can’t sing, you can sing to please yourself! Sing in the shower in a different key and you’ll make yourself happy! I do and I don’t care who hears me! Lol. I’m sure you have other talents! 👍🏻☺️ In the meantime we can all enjoy great voices like Tom Ball’s!
I believe you once mentioned about being in a capella. At my high school you had to play either an instrument or be in the choir. Grudgingly I sang, my second bass voice was actually an embarrassing situation "he's 15 and has that low a voice?" Yet at the start of my 11th year I was asked to try out for our a capella group. I loved it. Being boys we constantly challenged each other about who could go lower or higher. My range improved greatly and it was wonderful. My senior year we won state and performed in Toronto, Quebec and Buffalo in competition. I still played football and ended up playing with a team that won a bowl game. But my favorite memory is singing PDQ Bach "My Bonnie Lass" in Quebec's Notre Dame. Thank you Peter!
Loved this review & analysis. You are the only one I've listened to that really goes into Tom's performance. I love Tom's singing and I can't stop listening to him. I've subscribed today and know that I will learn something even though I can't carry a tune.
He is using the appoggio technique, well-supported singing on a cushion of air allowing his vocal cavities to resonate freely and project like a megaphone.
It seems important to note, that each time Peter posted a pic of a note in bass or treble cleff, the note depicted in voice is actually an octive higher than what Peter posted.
I was waiting so long for another reaction video to Tom. He has an amazing voice and hearing an opinion from such a professional like you is always very interesting 😁
Peter! This is my second vid of yours- another Tom Ball- and it had me in tears! I think when you were explaining what was happening, it kind of made me realise what work Tom has done to perform this so it leaves us with goosebumps. Maybe it’s like understanding a great work of art- the colour, lighting, brush strokes- thank you. I love Tom‘s red cheeks- he really is right in the song- takes us with him. Simply brilliant! His Bring Him Home and most recent Stand By Me is incredible too. And from a few years ago, there’s a vid of him on RUclips singing from Jesus Christ Superstar- that will knock your Sox off! Really enjoying your content, thank you Peter!

Peter, your review of Tom Ball’s Creep stayed in my mind for several hours. I was especially impressed with your comments about the emotion when you mentioned when there was anger in his expression and the music in the background.

Hi Peter, love your analysis of Toms version of Creep, I seem to be addicted to his voice right now and need his voice fix two or three times a week. Toms a great singer and it's refreshing to hear someone professional like yourself breaking his voice down so the likes of myself can begin to understand the techniques and ins and outs of voice control. Thanks for taking the time to review, and by the way your rendition of Creep was very good, your deep voice is pretty addictive too. One more thing, have you heard Toms version of I Who Have Nothing on BGT, I would like to hear your breakdown of his cover for that song.
